On May 23rd I am going to have a frisbee tournament in Bryan it will start at noon with registration starting about two hours before. If I could be place as a member of the club staff so I could post this tournament on disc golf scene it would be greatly appreciated. This event is going to be ran as a fund raiser for children's moracle network so it is for a great cause. I already have park approval and have already contacted prodigy discs and they are interested in sending prizes for door prizes or cpts. The sooner I post it the more people can come out for a great cause.

A few things:

1. The restrooms were closed last weekend due to a broken water line. It was unfortunate, but that's what happened.
2. The best date, according to Ben from the Parks Department, for a tournament in October is probably going to be the 25th. The youth and rec soccer programs will be done or almost done by then, and we'll have a lot fewer non-participants near the course.
3. I'm leaning toward a BYOP doubles event for the 25th consisting of one round of best shot ... more

3. I'm leaning toward a BYOP doubles event for the 25th consisting of one round of best shot and one of worst shot. Best shot is something most folks are familiar with. You and your partner both throw to start a hole, and you pick the best lie to throw from next. Repeat until one of you finishes the hole. In worst shot, the other team on your card decides which of your lies you must throw from, and both you and your partner must drain a shot from the same lie to complete the hole.

Thank you to everyone who helped out with, participated in, or even just gave a kind thought to the Trilogy Challenge today. Without the guys in this club pulling together, the event would have been cancelled last week. Scott McCullough brought in quite a few people, designed and printed the scorecards, and won so nobody else would have to. Brian Taylor laid out the extra holes and supplied two of the baskets for them, adjusted the baskets on 2 and 9, trimmed some rogue branches, furnished th ... more

Thank you to everyone who helped out with, participated in, or even just gave a kind thought to the Trilogy Challenge today. Without the guys in this club pulling together, the event would have been cancelled last week. Scott McCullough brought in quite a few people, designed and printed the scorecards, and won so nobody else would have to. Brian Taylor laid out the extra holes and supplied two of the baskets for them, adjusted the baskets on 2 and 9, trimmed some rogue branches, furnished the OB list, and donated prizes for CTP holes. Louis Salinas furnished the basket for one of the extra holes, as well. Nick Witter was out there with me last night, walking the course, picking up litter, and painting bricks. THANK YOU ALL!

When this club decides to do something, we damn well do it, and this event showed me that there are people in the area that want to come out and have fun throwing with other disc golfers. The people I spoke with today said they all had fun, and I think we will have some players come back for whatever we do next.

Say a prayer for Scott. He hurt his back carrying all the stuff he won. ;-P

If anyone would be willing to show up, I'd like to do a quick run-through of the course tomorrow evening and pick up some of the trash that people have elected to leave lying around. 6:00 or so. Shouldn't take very long if there are a few of us. Bring a container of some sort to collect the junk. It would be great if we can get the majority of the empty bottles and cans removed and present the best face possible.

Not to jump the gun, but if anyone has ideas for the next event we host, I'm all ears. I'd like to do something on a regular basis. Ideas that require little to no upfront money are great, as they should be much easier to get off the ground.

The Trilogy Challenge is officially on! If you haven't registered, do so by Tuesday. I'll see you there. Bring a couple extra bucks for the Ace pool and a CTP for something from my prize trunk, if you are into that kind of thing. If not, no problem.
