The new back 9 is sick, great work Magnus, Tailor, and everyone involved.

It can be easy, or it can make you want to rip your face off...
Still in its infant stages (especially the new 9) it needs a lot of cleanup and foot traffic but anybody can see with time its going to be an amazing course to work on hitting and shaping lines. Put your drivers back in your bag because the new holes aren't going to be parked with 1 shot using your putter. "Saving par" won't be easy if you shank off a tree either.
The artificial turf teepads are surprisingly grippy yet slick ...

There is a nice flow through the course. There are actually 19 holes and 18 baskets. This is a achieved by having an alternate hole after 5 (the old original 6), this route makes you play just the original nine. Or you play to the same basket if you play the full 18 on hole 15. This is nice if you only have time for nine or want to warm up or you can play the full 18! Decent variety of holes. There are some that have tight fairways, others with longer more open shots, all playing through the wo ...

This course is unique with the artificial turf tee pads to the spectacular baskets. The course is well maintained and naturally a great looking course. It's a good atmosphere there all the time.

Great shots really works on your game and precision....course will only get better with time. Good job guys!

Just had the chance to play this course for the first time and I really enjoyed it! The land was well utilized for the design of the course. I liked how many of the baskets were guarded by a shield of trees, really adding a challenging element to the course. Its a fair course for all players regardless of left- or right-handed throwers. Hats off to the people who maintain this course; everything looked very nice and clean. I'm sure it definitely helps having trash cans throughout the course.

Nice clean park, exclusive to disc golf. A couple of the long holes are really good position holes. Removal of some trees would greatly improve the course. Don't mind challenge, but a few too many "poke and hope" tee shots.

Great course with an even better community involved with it. Awesome one of a kind baskets. Solid layout. All around a good time.
+3 votes Aaron Schwallier › August 10, 2024
Played it on a cold, fall afternoon. Trees shielded most of the wind, which was really nice. Hole layouts are fantastic. There is always a tight line to the basket. Beautiful setting in the woods with leaves changing colors. Easy to navigate, nice double chain baskets. Not necessarily the longest course, but the trees make it very challenging. Overall one of the best woods courses I've ever played, definitely want to come back and try and best my score.

SMASH is making constant improvements to their course. Keeping in fresh and challenging. This course is an extremely well maintained place to play.

My favorite course that I have played. The back 9 is getting there with alot of hard work from people that play the course alot. I only see Smash getting better all the time!

This is my home course, let me start with that. I love the fact that this course is cut through the woods. I learned the game on this course and I was able to grow my game with it over the last year and a half. The locals are the best!! They have been a reason I am proud to say it's my home.
Pros
Friendly atmosphere
Challenging wooded course
Artificial turf tee pads
Constant improvement on the course
** New Tee signs**
Cons
Mosquitoes
Stumps need removal
Rough needs clean up

It is one of the best except for having a lot of under stable holes in a row. Still fun though. There are many trees but it is a great challenge. Love this course.

Great 9 hole course! Tight and tricky, but fair lines. Really good pin placements. Great course for working on putter shots off the tee. You really only need a couple of midrange discs and putters to play this course (maybe a righty sidearm hyzer driver shot or 2) Easy to navigate. And AWESOME baskets!!!! Really fun! The only real knock on the course is that the tees are natural at this point. I hear concrete is in the works once the $ is raised.
I can't wait to see the next 9 holes, which is promised to be a lot longer than the existing 9. Good, fun disc golf :)

This is an awesome technical course. It is certainly making it into my rotation now that it is 18 holes. The back nine is superb. It has come a long way in terms of playability in the short time it has been open. I like how tight the course is set from the beginning. It will only open up over time. Very comparable to Whitehall. Worth the drive.

A really nice mix of challenging holes! I love it! A lot of fun, challenging, and very well maintained! Thanks MDGE! :)

Short and sweet nice course tight fairways and lots of trees what more could you ask for
+2 votes Harold Fernando › September 12, 2021
Great technical and wooded course! Some use of elevation at spots. Very scenic and well-maintained course. Only issue I had was that people from two different teepads shoot at the same basket after hole 5. People from the 9 layout would be shooting to hole 6 I believe while people playing the 18 I think shoot to hole 15. Other than that, great course! The compacted sand and astro was a lot more stable than I assumed it would be, couple of the turfs could use flattening out but overall great course!

Beautiful, just needs cement tee-pads. Tight tactical lanes on every hole.
+2 votes Bryan Earvin › September 12, 2021
Great course! Very challenging, technical course. When the additional 9 holes are added, this will make it a frequent addition to my rotation.

This is the type of course the area needs! Hopefully the next 9 is as good. Great start!

Sweet course tight and technical and a great layout had a blast one of my new favorites!!
+2 votes Josh Russell › August 10, 2024
This course is an awesome wooded-technical course with tons of the fun factor. But it is not short as many reviews have stated before the back nine was put in. This course has 3 holes well over 400' with tons of trees making it next to impossible for an am3 to pull a 3 on. With other holes over 300', slight to somewhat moderate elevation changes,Tight lanes EVERYWHERE. and of course the first five short but heavily wooded holes, this course is downright fun. The teepads are artificial turf but w ...

I play this course almost everyday. technical and fun. I love it!

A lot of trees hanging over looks like some one is hanging on smaller tress to make them hang near baskets.

Love the course layout. Pretty tight and challenging for beginners. Fun to play, and all the fellow discers out there are great people. Beautiful baskets as well.

The course is only getting better. The people at smash are some of the coolest people i have ment, i wanted to be part of something and there wasnt a single person that turned me away so many people to thank for helping me learn the game and didnt get mad at my skill level.
+2 votes Eric Dingman › July 17, 2016
A great course winding through a beautiful Pine Forest. Some holes have too many trees in the way no clear Shot line. A mostly mid-range course with a couple over 400 footers. Well marked and easy-to-follow layout with little o.b. all tee pads are AstroTurf and some are covered by dirt. I would recommend this course to anyone of any skill level and look forward to playing this course again.

Expect some tree love. Or hate... SO MANY TREES. Awesome course though!
+2 votes Tom Wagner › August 10, 2024
A beautiful heavily wooded and technical disc golf exclusive course/park. Good design and mild elevation with water hazards on 5 holes. Nice combination of short and long holes. Several right and left doglegs. Signage is barely negligible but navigation is still pretty easy. New concrete pads and signage. Arroyo steel baskets with good placement. A picnic shelter and porta john is in the front parking lot.

Nice wooded course, challenging but not too challenging. Had several shots that fortunately flew through trees without deflection. I love this wooded course, it is not too dense of forest.
+1 votes Christopher Hedger › July 3, 2014
Too many random trees, not many designated paths to throw. Too much luck involved
+1 votes dale harris › August 10, 2014
the trees make for difficult/fun lines good length on the holes

Nice course for controlled shots. Lots of trees make for a challenging round. My only complaint would be the tee pads hence the B+ rating. Put in some nice concrete pads and its an A - A+ in my book.

Smash is a great switch up to the other courses in the area. It has a great layout, and the up down elevation provides excellent aerobic activity for those looking to shed a few. I encourage others to take advantage of this park before it becomes a popular destination, and all the holes have groups waiting, like the others in the area.
As for any cons i would have to say mosquitoes are an issue, as with most Michigan parks and my backyard. Bring your preferred method of insect control.

I love it here, the baskets are the best, the flow is great, the teepads are turf (great if you wear cleats). It seems like every time I come out here I play a different line or find a disc that works better on a certain hole. I love courses that are technical but can let you stretch your arm and throw for distance as well. This is the kind of course that will give you the time of your life or make you want to quit but most of all it will make you a better disc golfer. I've never played a course ...

Really good course highly reccomend. The makers of this course put a ton of effort into making this course. Each hole has a great map of the course and a bag rack. Each hole is in great condition to. Very fun technical course that you should give a try.

Awesome course with tons of technical shot shapes and lines, course has longs wooded shots as well as short shots. Baskets catch well and the only downfall I can really think of would be the tee pads, Hopefully we can get some cement tee pads on the course in the near future. I would definitely recommend playing this course if you get the chance or are in the area.

This course is like a mini rolling ridge.. Could use more distance on some holes, but I really enjoyed it. It's really flat so it's very enjoyable. Has pads and seating at almost every hole. Really enjoyed this course.

Great course, really came into its own after the second 9 was added. Not too many hills, don't prefer Arroyo baskets but they're in no way a deal breaker.

Played this course for the first time this weekend, it was absolutely incredible.
MAKE SURE YOU BRING BUG SPRAY!
It was like the breeding ground for every mosquito in America.
I would give this course an A, but playing in the rain those turf tee’s are tricky.
I would have given this an A+ but the hole maps are waterlogged and unreadable.
Amazing course, I will absolutely return.

Seems about 3 to 1 RHBH friendly. "Friendly" probably not the best word due to trees likely being quite unfriendly to all at times. It was a fun course and a beautiful walk!
+0 votes Tom Bos › April 20, 2015
Tough through the trees, but there's a path on most of them if you can stay in it. Very well maintained for a young course with lots of local support. The locals were friendly and let us play while they were having league, etc... This course will just keep getting better.

Needs cement pads. Too many throw and pray lines. Good technical course but all wooded no open mix to let loose on.

Pros: If this course was in my backyard, I would play it everyday!
Aesthetic-- plays through the east end of a small city park. Other facilities include hiking trails which DO NOT interfere with disc golf. Disc on!
Teesigns--nice for what they are. shows directionality of the hole if not a map along with distance. I liked that the disc golf park was dedicated to a guy who loved disc golf and has since passed away.
Baskets-- ARROYOS!!! Super bright and visible in the woods. Arroyo baskets , I ...

Played over the past weekend and loved the course. It was very challenging and little to tough for me atm but will definitely come back in the future. Apparently, it was made after someone who passed away? I'm not sure. A sign said in memory of Cody "Smash" Moore. Thought that was really cool.

I play this course all the time. Great tee pads, fairways and baskets. It is a great course, however, I feel like it still needs a lot of work. I understand it's suppose to be very tactical but there are too many branches and small trees that really need to go. Other than that, I can't wait for the 18

I loved the course since I came back, changed my review today. Great overall work done on this course. Played in My first tournament here with the new changes, about four months ago. Great work to the people who put their time in. Belding is lucky to have "Smash Park".
