fun, small, wooded to open. a wide range of holes and types. i don't know what it is about this course, but it's just phenomenal.

i love FF. its a good course, has nice open holes... some trees up the back 9, and still a bit of a challenge. can get technical depending on your lie. i would recommend you caution your self near the river holes after a good rain... its hard to find your disc if it gets wet then... otherwise the river is slow, shallow and clear so you can get your disc back. watch out for the backwards walker lol. love this place!

New chain-star baskets. Course is mowed, clean and in great condition. The river factors in several holes.
+1 votes Scott Smith › July 31, 2012
should have kept hole ten the way it was but i understand why they moved it. like the new layout a lot. almost beat my course recorded today.

Its a fairly easy course. Theres a good amount of tree! Its very clean and always good times!!

Fun course. Simple and very playable. Amazing squirel population.

+: Great for intermediate players, holes are not far but the shorter ones have more trees to make it a little harder, 18 holes
+/-:Baskets are all there but nothing spectacular, maintenance of the course could be better but not bad
-:There is a chance your disc could get wet if you overshoot or are really off your mark on a shot, very crowded usually
Verdict: B Decent course all around for the most part, but a hint more challenge (if you are more advanced would be appreciated) and the crowd ...

An all around fun course to play, one of which that used to be a favorite of mine - but casuals have overrun this course. Too many young kids messing around and backups of groups. Tried playing there twice this weekend and could not get in a full round. The course itself is still kept up with however and the newer baskets are a good addition. Worth checking out if you want to wait 5-10 min to throw on each hole.

Fun Course! Always enjoy it! Someones dog always happens to meet us @ 12's tee? Weird! Love FF!
+1 votes Sean Kecskes › October 31, 2019
Great course, very open. For first timers the course progression can be confusing and unless there's a regular there you have no help. That being said the crowd that plays here is very friendly.
WARNING- people walk their dogs, usually unleashed, literally right through the course,
EDIT: There's a legible map at hole one now

Love the course, very challenging for a newb like mine. Baskets need better markings, and the tee signs don't show the Par. Thankfully, I have the Udisc App for iPhone!
+1 votes Aaron Morley › August 18, 2014
I feel this course is a natural progression from the smaller ones in the Metro Detroit area (Brys, etc..) Usually play a round or 2 here weekly, and Brys the rest of the time (Only because Brys is much closer)
+1 votes Mike Liskey › September 4, 2012
Love playing this course because it's filled with giant 70' mature trees and a creek that divides the holes. Cant wait to try out the new Tee pads and baskets being installed. Best thing too - NO POISON OAK!

The course was alright. I didn't like how they change the course. But everything else was great.

Beautiful day to be out playing. Sunny with high 70's to low 80's and a slight breeze. Course was in great condition.
+1 votes Wally Ayotte › July 2, 2014
Clean, mowed and trimmed makes for a nice stroll through the park.
+1 votes Vinnie Griffith › June 28, 2022
Great for beginners or practicing your up shots/approaches. Expect a few minutes for wait time on the tee, at best. No physical challenges required - course is basically flat.
+1 votes Chris Fabian › April 3, 2023
Nice clean course. Fun and beginner friendly. Lots of chances for aces
+1 votes Michael Abbott › July 23, 2023
Fun course. Has water hazards, trees, concrete pads. Good mix of shorter and long holes. Good for pros and amateurs alike.

small easy going course often crowded, teach you how to throw a putter and midrange

Great city course for league play, glow, safari, or winter conditions. Conveniently located minutes from I75 or M59.
+0 votes David Bihl › September 23, 2014
The new tees are really nicely done and the course is much better with the changes that have been made. Wood chips around the tees and around the baskets would be a really big plus for this course as it has a tendency to be muddy. Nice course to play when you don't feel like looking for discs in the woods.
+0 votes Shawn Boucke › July 9, 2020
The course is laid out well for what is available. Most shots are just throwing it down a line, and putting in. The course is usually clean, but can be over run with "casuals" With the few holes along the stream, and a few around 400' it is still a course that can test your skills.
+0 votes David Tomlinson › September 24, 2015
This course is always clean and well maintained. The teepads are really nice too. Tee signs on every hole.
+0 votes Paul DISC-OR-DIE Holstein › April 24, 2014
Just realized that I hadn't reviewed this one, although I play here all of the time. It's a great course with open shots, woods, OB water and parking lot. Some drawbacks include a layout that may be hard to follow if you are not familiar with the course, and huge 100+ person leagues going on during the summer which would make casual play almost impossible. The best of the best are the Motor City Chain Gang tournaments that add additional holes to the course (in the back fields) ... if you want to see this course at it's best, hit the annual Firefighters Classic.

Great course for "glow disc golf" There is glo paint on the baskets, not crowded at night.
+0 votes Frank Welsh › August 27, 2011
One of my normal courses. decent for a sunny afternoon with no expectations.
+0 votes Jeff Chastain › June 24, 2018
Poor drainage after a good rain and not a lot of variety (no doglegs left or right), but it is a beautiful course, well kept, with lots of shaded areas and plenty of room.
+0 votes Jeremy Reisig › June 3, 2012
The course itself is not challenging or unique, but it is fun. The level of enjoyment from the course is the greatest aspect it brings. While it does lack variety, it is still a good place to go and sharpen up on skills. B+ for being clean and fun!
+0 votes Ed Carpus › July 5, 2012
One of my favorite smaller park courses. It's been interesting to watch the course develop over the years from a smaller course to a much larger course as length and difficulty have been added. It's one of the few courses in the area where I can say I enjoy the new layout much more than the old one! Always a fun round and a great place to tune a lot of the aspects of your game.
+0 votes Andy Smith › March 4, 2013
Love the fact that this course has history and has done a lot for the game in the metro area and beyond. Lots of cool old trees and baskets. The course is fun and challenging to play. A busy place though and you can run a wait. Or into some ego's there so watch out! Not a place I would tell some casuals togo even though I probably come off as one myself to some players! What ever still love this games as much as they do. You would be fine really if your just a beginner to play here. I be heading back to this course it a good place to play.
+0 votes Andy Pacanovsky › June 26, 2013
Course is in great shape right now. Couple of soft spots to watch out for. Super clean. Not very difficult for anyone above rec. A good course to take the wife to though and get her to actually throw.
+0 votes Dave Davies › October 24, 2012
Hard to review a course like this having played so many amazing courses on the west side of the state. Almost all (if not all) shots are straight from the tee to the basket with no real variation besides tree density (all tall trees no real branches to get knocked down by).
Lots of dog walkers so you gotta make sure you aren't about to bean an old Betty ( I did go late morning so maybe thats why there were so many dog walkers out).
Map was on a large board posted on hole 1 which was nice. ...

Good spot overall. Good range of shots, a couple long drives and tons of ace opps. Conditions are good outside of skeets in late during through October. Can be mucky in areas around the baskets, but generally a well kept park. Holes are mostly open, but plenty of trees in play near tees. A park that can play easy or hard if you don't focus. Fairly fun and just enough water in play to keep you on your toes.
+0 votes Andrew Boyle › September 8, 2012
really enjoyed this course. i like how long the holes are. but on the other hand i also like some short, more difficult shots including high hyzer and anhyzer shots. really worked the arm on this course.
+0 votes Rob Staszek › August 20, 2012
I REALLY enjoyed this course. This seems to be where everyone goes for a relaxing round of DG. The holes are VERY well laid out and clearly marked. The baskets are clearly visible and the course length is friendly to people just getting their technique down. This course can become quite busy many days and it pays to get there early in the day if you can. Evenings and Weekends during the day, expect to be asked to play though or wait on people with large groups or lots of discs to throw. Other than that, it's a great course with plenty of opportunities for birdies.
+0 votes Eric Dusten › April 30, 2024
Challenging enough without much risk of losing disc. Park setting with nice placements of pins. Beginners to experienced players like this course. New baskets and perfect sized cement tee pads make it even nicer. If you're looking for elevation and wood tunnel shots this isn't that course. The pictures give perfect example. Only down fall of this course is how busy it gets and has a fair amount of people that don't understand faster players play through. Golf etiquette 101. Other than that, it's a fun course.
+0 votes Zac Zabolotny › June 12, 2014
Good "straight" course as there is barely any elevation change throughout it. It's good for improving on form and aim.
+0 votes Thai Hovey › May 20, 2013
Love this course when hoping to play a quick round. Average hole length is pretty short, legit chance at Aces on nearly all holes. Course can get crazy busy in the evening but early day play is wide open.
+0 votes Timmy Redman › September 21, 2013
Had fun playing here, some open long holes, mostly kinda woodsy. good mix of short and long with some elevation change and a creek you throw over and along a few times. was told it can be pretty busy sometimes
+0 votes Andrew Wojciechowski › June 11, 2013
Good for what it is. No elevation changes or fairways really but gives you a chance to chuck some.

+0 votes Randy H › August 21, 2015
Well maintained beginner to intermediate course. Open with a few wooded holes and a couple water hazards. Very fun course
+0 votes Danny Brooks › March 14, 2015
This is my home course since moving to MI: Straight forward layout, moderate difficulty, fairly open with some trees, very crowded when the weather is nice
+0 votes Sean Hale › July 5, 2015
Good course for newer disc golfers, I was brought up on Stoney creek so this course is pretty short as far and drives.
+0 votes Eric Kociemba › August 12, 2015
Like the course. Your never gonna lose a disc and there is some solid distance drives. Good put keep.
+0 votes Jacob Smith › March 20, 2016
Love this course. Pretty easy with minimal difficulty. But helps keep your discipline.
+0 votes Shawn Towler › May 25, 2017
Pedestrians have tendency to not notice they are in the middle of some holes. Saw a weeding on hole one once, and another time big Pokemon, Comic-Con type thing going on. Decent course though
+0 votes Trevor Diehl › May 15, 2017
A great mid-distance course. Lots of semi-technical holes good for practicing tunnel shots and flex lines. The creek is a hazard, but only on 1 hole, and everything is pretty wide open.
Will definitely play again in the future and will recommend to others.

Nice city park course. Concrete tee pads were well tended. Baskets are a little old and could probably use an update. Went in spring, multiple baskets with lower terrain collecting water and some had turned to mud. A few baskets where you are unable to escape the wet/mud. Many shots through trees.
+0 votes Brendan Diamond › September 21, 2017
Awesome course. Mix of wooded and open holes. Not incredibly hard but presents some challenges. Trash cans at every hole. Clean and pretty scenery.

Great course grew up playing it and learned to play on it love the game and the course.
+0 votes Matt Priskorn › July 10, 2019
Awesome course until it rains, then it gets a bit muddy. Other than that, great layout with a nice mix of long and short holes.
+0 votes Jeff Dunn CTDG › December 9, 2021
For the property they had, they utilized all the good features, between the river coming into play on a few holes and clever basket locations using the few trees they had. The trees are like telephone poles so not much branch hate here. You can score well if you keep it near the circle and hit your putts. A couple demanding lines but mostly open, forgiving lines. Tee pads are great. Biggest complaint I have here is safety. Some of the tee pads are close to baskets and some of the holes I’ve seen people throw at the wrong basket. It can be confusing in spots.

Liked the course. but with the amount of rank F-------- amateurs and idiots playing between yesterday and today don't think I'll be back.
+0 votes James Brunk › June 29, 2020
Great course and well maintained. Good open course with some short, medium, and long holes. Always windy on the front 9 but calms down on the back 9.
+0 votes Thomas Zammit › May 24, 2021
Beginner course but with a bit of distance. Just throw straight on every hole and putt in a field with a bit of wind for difficulty.
+0 votes Mike LaRue › July 19, 2024
This is perhaps the most accessible public course in Oakland County as far as one that can deliver appeal to both beginners and advanced players. The course has a Par of 63, so newer players can feel like they have a shot, but it would be intriguing if the course was updated with MCCC's tournament short tees instead and have everyone play Par 54.

I love this course. This was my first time out here, and I will definitely be back for a better shot at nailing this one!
+0 votes Scott Jakey › September 28, 2022
Great course for everyone. A few holes can get you in trouble, the longer open holes look easy, but the wind will affect the flight of less experienced players.
+0 votes Nolan Gray › June 13, 2023
Great course that snakes through the woods and near a small river. A lot of fun and unique holes throwing over the river or between giant oak trees.

I liked the new tee boxes and baskets. They should have given all the baskets a little spray of silver paint. Those new baskets were very easy to see for an old man like me.
-1 votes Brennen Berry › July 20, 2014
Course was fairly easy. Not a lot of obstacles. Lots of lines to choose from good for players looking to practice new shots or just looking for a casual round. Gets props for being really clean. Course itself gets a C+ but gets a B- for being clean.
-1 votes Brett Packer › May 4, 2016
Flat, mostly wide open. Some long shot holes but still easy to par as long as you can get distance. Course seems to be very wet easily. Layout is good and relatively easy to navigate.

-2 votes Tim Misiak › July 23, 2023
The course is almost always overcrowded. Expect to wait more than you play. The course doesn't really offer any fun shots. Basically just relatively short, flat holes with lots of trees to dodge. Although this is the "best course in Troy" it's still a let down.
-2 votes Brian Jones › March 27, 2024
This course isn't anything special, but it's not awful either.
I was on the fence between B- and C+. I went with C+ mostly for the layout. Be prepared to hear someone yell fore at some point. A lot of the holes are tightly weaved together, so it doesn't take much a misthrow for a disc to be flying at people.
Every hole is a straight shot down, most have a fair amount of trees, but nothing to hard to get around. As a whole it is an easy, fairly short course. I wouldn't make a special t ...

The League players are terrible. They feel as if they own the course. They will never let you pass. You will be stuck watching them throw their terrible shots on their terrible course.
-4 votes richard bell › March 27, 2024
For me this place is over hyped. A decent layout in a park. A wooded course but mainly open with trees sprinkled throughout. Flat park with a hill in the back for 2 shots kind of. Usually crowded on good days. Muddy after it rains. Windy when its windy out since its right off the highway. Always clean and well maintained. Garbage cans at some tees. A table here n there but no need for them really since its such a small course.

This course would be a lot better without the Macomb County PWT coming here. Shirts off, backwards hats, looking for a fight - they are the worst! Stay on the other side of Dequindre you human toilets!
-5 votes Brian DeVries › May 10, 2011
Every hole is exactly the same as the last with the basket moving 20-30ft left or right and forwards or back 10-100 ft. All straight shots no place to really unleash a drive. A good Putter/Buzzz course.
