I may come catch up and finish a round if I can make it.... honestly, I wouldn't count on it though. It would be a struggle to make it before 4:15 tomorrow. I wen't out for a quick round mostly to just get some fresh air and walk the course today and a few of the teepads were under water. Hopefully it dries up a bit for you tomorrow.

I'm thinking about going to River Pond Sunday the 12th. I willl probably go earlier than Zane can go out but I would probably play till dark too.
Anyone interested? It's going to be like 50 degrees!

Taki, I am out every chance I get playing around town(usually 3 or 4 times a week), so if our schedules ever line up I always enjoy the company and competition of playing with others. Unfortunately, most of my rounds are weekday mornings and I'm usually playing solo. Have you all played at Fairmont yet? I can show you around over there someday if not, or we can try to get a full round at Tuttle.... But as always, Warner makes for a great round and I'm out there quite a bit when it' ... more

It was really fun to have a round at a different course. It was our fault that we didn't show up on time, didn't bring a course map, threw a disc in (or on?) the lake, etc. We all could have finished before getting dark if I would be familiar with the course (so that the group of 4 each may take less time in total).
Anyways, I really enjoyed the round. I suggest to have this kind of casual round regularly (so that everyone has more opportunity to target Kevin's #3 tag!). Thanks, Kevin, for organising the group.

Life would be so much easier if I never ran out of daylight... but then I might never stop playing disc golf. :-) Can you imagine how many hours of disc golf you could play living in Alaska? :-)
From what I've been told, a good time was had by all. I am sorry that I did not already have a pre-planned solution. My group was simply enjoying a casual round and thought the other group had already left.
With that said, it was nice to see that our group could come up with a reasonable solution.

Yes, thanks everyone. It is always a pleasure to get out and play a round with all of you, and to have such a great turnout is awesome. I'm sorry again for scheduling such a late round, but I had underestimated the time it would take all of us to get through all 18. I hope everyone still had a fun round and I look forward to next time.

Even though it came to an awkward end, it was good to see so many people show up today.
Thanks again to Kevin for getting the pads cleaned and scheduling the round.

Kevin, Good job getting something set up for today. I'll do my best to make it out to play. Not 100% sure I'm going to make it though, as I'm not sure what the wife has planned for this afternoon.
Either way, have fun playing today.
Maki, yep the Tuttle course is a little confusing at first. I've got a "directions map" I've been meaning to post on the course page here to help people find the starting point. I'll be sure to e-mail that map to you before noon. (I don't have access to it right now b/c I'm using my phone right now)

I'll try to be there at 3:30.
To get to the first hole, enter the park on the East side of the dam. The disc golf parking and sign are at the first intersection after going through the gate house.

Yeah, we are interested in coming to Tuttle at 3:30. Where should we meet? We went there only once and have no idea of where to park a car and see you guys...
Kevin Zane February 5, 2011 at 6:21am
Sorry, I don't think I'd count on getting out of work until about 3 tomorrow but I think we'll have enough light until 6 or so... I played a quick round tonight. Started at like 4:30 and we finished with a little light left.
I did play the KC ice bowl....It was a blast and most of the snow had melted just in time. I wish I could have made league night as I always look forward to it, but it was a two day event and I didn't get back until late on Sunday.
Mark Kewley February 5, 2011 at 5:54am
I might be interested. Any chance of starting earlier than 3:30? Also I was waiting to hear back from Rick on weekend plans. Maybe he will chime in.
Did you play the ice bowl?
Kevin Zane February 4, 2011 at 9:43pm
I went out yesterday and cleared the teepads and scheduled a round for tomorrow at Tuttle. If anyone is interested and would rather play Warner, we could change the location.
Kevin Zane January 24, 2011 at 10:03am
If anyone else would be interested in going to Riley, I can work with my schedule and do pretty much any day with a little bit of a heads up. Maybe we can do one of the off Saturdays or something along those lines. Most of my readily available times are weekdays in the AM, which I'm sure don't work well for most others as I almost never run into anyone when I play around that time of day.... so I'm willing to work with my schedule to make it work if there would be any interest.
Rick Petrie January 24, 2011 at 4:31am
Mark, Ryan and I know the Ft. Riley course really well. I will e-mail a course map to you tonight. Be advised that everyone must provide proof of ID when entering the gate, after all you are entering a military installation.
It is a long and somewhat open course so it could be a very cold and grueling proposition in the winter. However cold temps are becoming more manageable for me as of late. With that in mind, I'm up for playing it sometime if we can get a day that works for all who's interested.
Kevin Zane January 24, 2011 at 1:37am
Does anyone on here know the Fort Riley course well? I'd like to play out there, but don't know the layout and I've heard it's not marked well enough to just show up and play.
Rick Petrie February 13, 2011 at 10:07am
At this point, I think I'm going to pass.
