I don't think I'd ever thrown in a tailwind that switched to a headwind halfway through my disc's flight before.

Larry Dalimonte   May 11, 2013 at 11:56pm

Thankfully the horde of mosquitoes we had to tromp through in the morning were not ravenous!

Larry Dalimonte    May 11, 2013 at 6:58am

Played a round on Rivers Edge Friday afternoon/evening and I'm just really curious as to why they chose to put large brush piles in the middle of the fairway on holes 3 and 5. Are they going to be ignited in the morning for some more fire hazard fun like we had for glo in the snow?

If not Im in favor of the fire hazard

Matt Rinker   May 10, 2013 at 11:59pm

oh come on, Luke.... a little fire under your ass couldn't hurt :)

Larry Dalimonte   May 11, 2013 at 12:03am

Yes they are great! You aim your disc over the fire and the draft from the flames gives you some extra distance! lol I figured they were staying put unless some park workers are feeling froggy in the morning. Just thought I'd post a heads up so atleast some people are aware.

being a tournament do you have to pay to play and park still?

It's only $7. The park is very supportive of DG and do a lot to maintain the courses. It's gonna be nice and cool. We're playing a really challenging layout on the original course plus there's fresh cement tees for all of River's Edge. I hope you can make it.

Jacob Turner   May 10, 2013 at 2:14pm

I am coming out and tryin to get my gf to play as well

Matt Rinker   May 10, 2013 at 11:26pm

The greens fees will come out of your entry fees. On tournament days, every player, even if you have an annual, is charged $2 which the CCR matches. All this money goes directly back into the courses. You'll still need to pay to park.

Hey... guess what!!!!!! Just this morning the Park and a couple dedicated volunteers finished pouring the last 6 pads on Rivers Edges. Sooooooo, one round from the layout posted and one round on Rivers Edge!!!

nope. not til the Burchfield open, June 22 and 23.

Matt Rinker    May 6, 2013 at 7:29pm

Correct Harold. And thanks for posting the layout! If I add a layout, it will be one of 2... Short to Longs or Rivers Edge.. It depends on the flooding and tee pad situation on whether or not Rivers Edge is played.

Ok I have communicated with Rinker and this is the layout for both rounds:

1. L-Sh, 2. Sh-L, 3. L-L, 4. L-Sh, 5. L-Sh, 6. Sh-L, 7. Sh-Sh, 8. L-Sh, 9. L-Sh, 10. Sh-L, 11. Sh-Sh, 12 L-L, 13 L-L, 14. L-Sh 15 Sh-L 16 L-Sh 17 L-Sh 18 Sh-Sh. Par 58.
Only Sand is OB on 7, if you are touching rock you are in bounds. All other bunkers (sand, rocks, wood chips and flowerbeds) are completely OB. On or over ANY road is OB. There will be a drop zone on 17. Have Fun!

one change to this layout. 15 will be long to short.

Chris Davis   May 6, 2013 at 8:57pm

Booo!

Matt Rinker   May 6, 2013 at 11:32pm

if you're booing the change on 15... think safety issue on 16's tee pad. If you're Boooing the layout... come on, it's a fun layout!

Justin Abram    May 5, 2013 at 5:46pm

Has the layout been solidified? Will it be the same for both rounds?
