Sad news tonight about the Minto Brown Island disc golf course dream a few of us have been working towards. At community meeting held tonight we were informed we have been dropped from proposed plan at this time. The good news is after the meeting the parks dept head folks came up to us for discussion and we will be scheduling a closed meeting with them to discuss disc golf future in Salem area. We have not given up the effort to bring a top notch course to the area. Set back tonight but we are still going forward. Best thing now is for all the disc golf community to work to forget personal differences and work together to become the best we can.

Woodmansee work day was a big success due to the friends of trees, ivy removal coalition, and other assorted youth groups. Sorry to say no disc golfers besides myself made it out. We owe these groups a big thanks. Some of many pictures taken. Over 1000+ tree seedlings, assorted plants, and such planted today, lets treat them nice and let them grow.

Friends of Trees is partnering with the City of Salem to revitalize the stream banks along Pringle Creek as it winds through this beautifully wooded park. We will be adding additional Oregon white oaks and native shrubs to the areas recently won back from a Himalayan blackberry infestation. The No Ivy Coalition will be simultaneously leading ivy removal activities in the old oak grove adjacent to the planting area. Bring your disc golf discs for after the planting, as there is ... more

Please arrive around 8:45am to be registered and assigned to a crew. The event will start promptly at 9:00am. We provide breakfast snacks and hot chocolate/coffe​e, as well as gloves, tools and guidance. Please come dressed for the weather and wearing sturdy shoes and get ready to have fun!

How would you like a chance to play disc golf on a real golf course? How about at a beautiful scenic course with a special layout for the day? This is where the DGLA Oregon State Championship is coming to. I will be working with Rick and few others to try to put on a day to remember and I'll be doing my best to layout a course that all will enjoy. More details as we get closer but should be a great event to get into.

I am forming a new group (Camp Taloali Disc Golfers) for one of my favorite local courses, Camp Taloali. As a project of Hawg Farm Disc Golf I am trying to put together a group to help me with this task of working with the camp board and others as needed to further progress of this fine course. We will meet and discuss projects as needed and put together a plan of projects to finish or add to course. This will be a ongoing project and I have the camps support if we can come together with the ... more

Had a good discussion with Sylvia at Camp Taloali today about future of the course and what can and should be done to finish course work out, also about the pay to play and how better to make it work. Been lots of players and cars but not much in pay box. Best bet and easiest for any one that plays 6 or more times a year is a annual pass, easier for them to keep track of also. More details to follow but lets get together and make a good course a great course.
