Now that there has been a rash of registered people, the fields are shaping up to look like this: Pool A will be AM1 (20 players), AM2 (36 players), AM40+ (8 players), and AM50+ (8 players = 72 players. Pool B will be AM3 (51), AM60+ (1), FA1 (2), and FA3(4) = 58. There are 14 spots left in Pool B. Pool A will play the new 18 holes and Pool B will play the original 18 holes. Regardless of moving either of the Masters to Pool B to allow more in depending on who signs up waitlist or other, the AM1 and AM2 divisions will be playing the new 18 holes twice.
So just to be clear, even though there are 13 spots available i may not get in to the tournament because youve now chosen to put caps on the divison for the sake of making even number pools??
Jay, it would not make sense as an example, to have 40 AM3s playing on one course and 2 playing on the other.
Pools may be shuffled in the case more people sign up and get on the wait list. The down side if I move one division to the other pool is they will be playing the original 18 holes twice.
But, none of that answered my question at all, my inquiry was me wanting clarity on the chance that i will be turned away from the event even though there are currently spots available, maybe i can word it differently? Maybe, i am i guaranteed a spot as it stands right now today because there are in fact spots available??
I didnt realize I was signing up for waitlist until it was too late & I was done. If anyones like me that will not fool with waitlist. I cant plan a tourny from the waitlist, so I usually dont bother.
They will not
Registration opened up on APRIL 8, 2018. The pools were almost full and decisions needed to be made. Those waiting until the last minute have no guarantees. I can move divisions in the other Pool but you will be playing a lesser course twice.
We can only fit 72 people on one course. This is not new, especially for Masters and Grandmasters who should be seasoned veterans playing A Tier tournaments.
If any division gets bumped into the other Pool, someone will have to explain that to the first 8 people who signed up long ago.
You both know I am going to look at every possibility to get you guys in when that opportunity presents itself.
Do any of the MA50+ want to go into Pool B? I can make that switch today if need be.
Let me ask this then, what if we had registered 2 hours BEFORE you capped the pools?? Would we not be actually registered without worry then? It seems like the problem is now because those caps were not in place and NOTHING about the possibility of them being used was announced anywhere, if there is ... more
Let me ask this then, what if we had registered 2 hours BEFORE you capped the pools?? Would we not be actually registered without worry then? It seems like the problem is now because those caps were not in place and NOTHING about the possibility of them being used was announced anywhere, if there is only an allowance of 72 players per course then shouldnt the caps have been set before reg opened or atleast notified the players so they could have had the opportunity to reg much sooner and avoid this kind of issue??
I'll go play AM3, if that will help. I am only interested in playing some golf, sitting with some friend and having a couple cold ones after. Joe can have my spot.
If either of you would have registered 2 hours before I found out how many people have registered, which I have been monitoring, believe it or not, then the AM50+ would be in Pool B.
So how will a rating update be handled if say 7 players ratings go up/down before the event, will that switch everything again??
I was supposed to be switched to Am2 b4 there was a waitlist here. Now there are 3 on W/L & Im still not in Am2???
There
You almost had to call the whabulance.
Would you be the one driving it? We might still need one on call
They probably won't answer if they recognize the number, because it's been called so much?
