Hi… I have volunteered under the definition of being a volunteer. Happy to serve.
Volunteering is the act of rendering selfless service to a cause, oftentimes for free and without coercion. It is about giving time to a good cause, specifically to help an organization, your community or an individual you are not related to. People who engage in this type of activity are known as volunteers.
Sounds like a good definition. But the DGPT is a for profit company getting greedier by the minute so I think a complimentary spectator pass is not too much to ask.
Don't you think its tacky for the DGPT/MCO to thank you for your service by telling you to scram or buy a ticket after you're done working?
Nope…. Volunteer is volunteer per definition. If you are expecting anything you will always be disappointed at whatever may come your way.
I volunteer every year at the Jonesboro Open, and we get to spectate for free when we are not working our shift. I am a spotter on a hike for 4 hours each day and spectate for about 5 hours. Seems a reasonable trade for time.
I agree ‘reasonable’ but that is not a volunteer spirit. I have played Jonesboro several years. They did not commit to giving you party hill access (certain roped areas) till just this week. DGPT controls this - times are a changing. At Music City you can go anywhere in the roped areas which is a lot more broad coverage.
