Hello Everyone,
The winter disc golf lords have not been great to this stop, and of course the weather predictions were wrong for this storm(It is Colorado, we are due for one wrong storm every year). After review of all the information and traffic cameras as well as consulting people near Birds Nest, I have decided that is in the best interest of player safety to postpone this stop:
Factors Considered: Although the course might be in a condition to play after the tees are shoveled it is the concern of this very wet and heavy snow (expected to continue for some time in Arvada) combined with the cold overnight creating travel concerns getting around. As well as the warmer afternoon tomorrow creating what I will call a Slop Fest at Birds Nest if melted.
What is next: I will figure things out Monday on what date this stop will be held and message all of you that new date. Full refunds will be offered to those unable to attend the new date.
I hope you all realize I do not make this decision lightly, in fact this is a Winter Series and I expect snow most of the time, but I have spent most of my day (when not shoveling) reviewing the information and forecasts to make an informed decision with the safety of our players in mind. The roads in that area are super bad.
I wasn;t even worried about playing in the slush, it was the drive down from Fort Collins that I feared, with morning temperatures just under freezing. Thanks for postponing it.
