In Memory of Bob Iracsible Derkacz

With great sorrow I pass along this very surprising and very sad news. Bob Iracsible Derkacz (Bob D.) has passed away. No additional details are available to this time. His brother has posted the funeral details on Bob's face book page:

If you don't have your Berth yet you can still get in by playing the Last Chance Qualifier on Friday. Some divisions may fill up but you still have an IN.... - LCQ

Ok Ypsi Dubs purchased max berths from MDGO which was 6 berths this year. 2 for Winter and 4 for each summer league. So crazy fun just like the leagues this year.

Winter we had a tie for first place between Sam Smith and Tim Gacioch (Jub Jub) but Sam had already won his berth from the DGLA winter and Job Jub is not able to attend. So the berths go to the two players tied for 3rd place - Pat Burke and Kyle Decaussin. Congratulations!!!

Just a quick shout out to James "Razor" Rizor - Hope you are doing OK - speedy Recovery.

For those who do not know James had a tough shot on Hole 14, not that the lie was tough but that after his up shot he was left his knee cap precariously positioned on the side of his leg. He get's the award for coolest Disc Golf Cart of the Day award and hopefully the pain meds made the long cross country trek along the back trails to the pond and parking lot a little more enjoyable.

I figured by the descriptions of the injury that we would have heard it throughout the park, but we were two holes back and did not hear anything until we got through with hole 13 and saw that players were beginning to congregate on Hole 14 and heard the ambulance was on the way.

Speedy recovery James from all of us at Ypsi Dubs.

It was a crazy day at Rolling - another ambulance was at the park a few minutes later to take out a female roller blader out. I hope everyone else survived the rounds over the weekend. Kyle will have scores posted shortly - Thanks Kyle.

Ypsi Dubs -={Church}=- 7/05/15, 26 Players

A great day of golf this last Sunday with several new players and a few we have not seen for a little while - welcome All.

The course is looking great thanks to everyone helping pick up the course and a few helping with some trimming and course repair. There are two tree down w the worst being all around Hole 8 short tee pad but it is clear enough to tee off and walk around. I hope to open up a small passage through the tree trunk soon and then the park will do the heavy clean up and hopefu ... more

I see a few players are bummed that the rough is very rough but that is to be expected with so much rain and fast growth. All the paths and trails are clear and the fairways are looking great. I tried trimming a few branches from 17 long and we will look at 11 long soon. Hole 7 long has been cleared behind the tee pad and where the bushes and trees have been growing into the original designed fairway. Thanks Mom ;-)

Several have mentioned wanting to help with course maintenance - Thanks. It is just hard to pre-schedule these activities but we will try to schedule a few short activities when possible.

Ypsi Dubs -={Church}=- HLW this Sunday!!! 6/14/15, 17 Players

Just a reminder that this Sunday we are serving up some Double Points as part of our DGLA Michigan Cooperative Point Series. With a little help we try to have a CTP on every hole. You never know what may be up for grabs. Not sure we have anymore YD underwear or any lamp shades but we are bound to have some great swag and who knows what else. Maybe some munchies and refreshments - not quite as good as the Vienna Sat Dubs with Quality Deer Processing grub fame but it should be a good time.

A big thanks to Rob Dehaan, Mike Visger & Amber for their course work. Hopefully #12 shorts will not get covered in inches of sand & mud from the run-off from the Hill. Mike and Amber cleared several other areas which makes walking & playing the course so much more enjoyable. Big CHAAAAA! to you guys - Thanks.

Ok we saw a few long holes Sunday - Long Tees Even, Short Tees Odd, 18 holes. Sunday is our only League day to get the Longs into play. We will rotate Partial Longs, Shorts All Longs, Shorts and so on.
This Sunday (4/26) then will be Shorts followed by All Longs the following Sunday - Longs are postponed if we have inclement weather.


Welcome Jeff Ponke, Justin Leibold, Josh Young, and Bryan Morgan

Next Week 4/19 round will be Odd or Even long - depending on the number of players.
