Glow Tonight!

Great looking forecast tonight, no snow on the ground, excellent conditions for night golf in Ann Arbor.

We will play White-Red tonight, since we might get a big turnout, and that is definitely the most user friendly of layouts.

See you out at Bandemer Park tonight at 7pm!

2012: Wednesday

Hi All,

Due to the overall positive response for Wednesday (and the good turnout last week) I have decided to make WC Glow Wednesdays for all weeks in 2012.

So please join us this week. Wednesday at Bandemer. 7pm start time. Ace pool is at $75 right now. Cheers

No League This Week

I'm still recovering from the flu, so I can't make league tonight. Feel free to still show up and play though.

Next year we will resume play, most likely on Wednesdays.

Blue-Red this week, CTP for BEER

I have more donated beer to give away this evening for a CTP, so let's all gather round the Christmas tree in the woods and play some glow tonight. We will also hold a brainstorming session on league handicaps for those interested. :)

Dubs this Week.. White-Red - CTP for BEER

I have a 1/2 case of beer from Detroit Brewing Co that Mr. Holley was so generous to donate. This will be given away in a CTP this week on hole 9.

White-Red this week. Weather is looking, kinda strange for mid-December. High of 52 and a chance of rain.

Back to Dubs This Week, Welcome to December!

So tonight (7pm, Bandemer) we'll go back to the random draw dubs. Fun times last week with the glow ace race.. To my knowledge (had to leave early) no one hit an ace, otherwise I imagine I would have had Mr. Holley knocking on my door and blowing up my dg scene inbox with demands for ze money!

The layout will be White-Red tonight, so hopefully this layout comes off as the most crowd pleasing.. $5, $2 ace pool (which is at $120 right now, ($90 payout)) and I'll do an additional $ ... more

Glow This Week - Friday 11/25

We are moving the glow round to Friday 11/25 this week, starting at 6pm with the 1st (annual?) Bandy Glow Ace Race. Meet at 6pm to play 18 reds. Two separate ace pools, the main one (which is at $110) then the daily ace pool (with the entry fees collected on Friday) so you can either pay $5, or $7 gets you in both ace pools. If the $5 ace pool is not hit then we will throw off: CTP on hole #1.

If you have the time to go out to the A3Disc Hudson Mills ace race on the same day, bring some ... more

Cool and Dry - 11/17/2011

Hi glowers, LEDers and prospective night golfers. Should be some great conditions for some golf tonight at Bandemer! Might even see a few snow flurries..... We start at 7pm and Blue-Red will be played tonight. Don't forget that hole #8 plays from the red tee for all layouts, so don't let that one deter you from coming out! The following week is Thanksgiving, so I'm pretty sure it will be cancelled unless there is a strong desire to have it and someone else wants to run it. Maybe we should move it to Wednesday?

The MICPS Winter Point Series and the Ann Arbor Cooperative Point Series both start on Sunday the 20th, so make sure you get your two rounds in every week!

Hudson Mills This Week

This week on 10/20 we will be having glow at Hudson Mills Metropark. We will need to close registration by 6:00 and tee off by 6:15 in order to be done in time. Plan to play 18 holes of the original course - short tees. Hope to see you all out there. Give me a call if you are going to be close to the reg cutoff time and we'll make sure you get a spot in the round. Thanks!

One more thing to announce. The ace pool has been juiced up with a generous donation ($50) from the Indy Lake Thursday evening summer league that was admin'd by Ben Ciccarelli. New total is $70. Thanks Ben!

Hi leaguers! Thanks for coming out to make glow awesome last night. I hope you all had fun and please let me know if you ever have feedback on how things are run. I want this league to be for all of us, so if you have a suggestion for something please don't hesitate to talk to me.

Just want to update on here what we discussed and voted on prior to the round last night. In a majority vote we decided to always play Hole #8 from the red tees, regardless of whether we are playing Blue, White or Red. So for example the layout for the night is Blue-White. You would play from Blues then Whites for all of the holes except #8 where you would throw from the reds both times. I hope that most people are happy with this adjustment and over time I think it will become an easy thing to remember.

One more thing. Next week (October 13) is the official start of the points competition for the glow league. Points will matter as this league has awarded MDGO state finals berths for the past two years based on your overall points finish; I plan on doing it again this season. Please review the league summary page for a detailed look at how the points are calculated week to week. Game 5 ALCS is also on this date so we got unlucky again with that scheduling.. Oh well.

One additional topic is that we could play glow at some different courses this time of year. We have gone to Hudson Mills in the past so that is always an option. Let's tentatively plan for the October 20th round (two weeks from now) to be at Hudson Mills at the same start time - 7pm.
