End of Summer League

Thanks all for making the inaugural Rockapsco League session a great one! Your support made it fun to run as well as play. Unfortunately Josh A couldn't make out the last round and defend his number 1 overall standing, but Jason Y shot a blazing 40 from the yellow bricks to short baskets at PTAP and took the overall winner for the session. Thanks all for making the inaugural Rockapsco League session a great one! Your support made it fun to run as well as play. Unfortunately Josh A couldn't make out the last round and defend his number 1 overall standing, but Jason Y shot a blazing 40 from the yellow bricks to short baskets at PTAP and took the overall winner for the session. The Ace pot was not hit, so it rolled into the last round where every hole was a CTP. Jay B. took the bulk of the CTPs, with a good mix among the group. The league report has been submitted to the PDGA, so rounds will be included in the September ratings update. Stay tuned for news on the next session starting late October.

Week #8 (Aug 11) Layout

Great night for #pdga Rockapsco Singles tonight! Average score was 55 with 52 the hot round to Jason Y. Preliminary round ratings on PDGA event page and leaderboard updated. Week #8 (Aug 11) is back to Patapsco playing Red tees to Short baskets.

7/28 league forecast

All, forecast doesn't look good through 7:30pm. While there are periods of no rain and the course looks good, there is the potential for significant amounts of additional rain. I'm at ptap now and will stay if there are three players and it looks safe to finish a round. If you are coming still, please let me know. If cancelled, will update via email and the discgolfscene webpage.

Rockapsco Friday league still on at ptap. Looks pretty clear right now, just a little shower. Most of the weather is east of here. Only cancel if lightning gets in our way. Still registering 4:3-5:00.

Week #2 Layout

Leaderboard and scores are posted. PDGA had enough data to give preliminary round ratings for Round #1. Thanks for making it out! Week 2 will be at Patapsco and the layout will be Red tees to Long (Green) baskets, par 60. This is a change from what I said last night. Blue to short will come later.

League kickoff

Get excited! League kickoff is 6/23. Registration will be between 4:30pm and end at 5:00pm sharp at 18C Rockburn. Initial players meeting then shotgun start. If you see the staff at Rockburn, be sure to thank them, especially Shawn B. for helping work permit issues with Howard County Parks and Recreation!

- PDGA official disc golf rules and competition manual in effect. Three-minute time-limit for lost discs. Card responsible for timing lost discs and excessive time (8404.01). No two-meter rule. Mandos are missed if throw passes left of tree and establishes a position completely beyond the mandatory line (804.02)

Hole 3: Mando tree, must pass to right of tree. Drop within one meter next to mando or re-throw from previous legal lie and one stroke penalty for missing mando.
Hole 9: Stream is OB. Drop where disc last in-bounds and one stroke penalty.
Hole 13: Mando on tree right of fairway, must pass to left of tree. Drop within one meter behind and left of mando or re-throw from previous lie. One stroke penalty for missing mando.
Stream behind 13 and on Hole 15 is OB. Drop were disc last in-bounds and one stroke penalty.
Hole 16: Mando on left side of fairway, must pass to right of mando tree. Drop within one meter next to mando or re-throw from previous lie and one stroke penalty. Stream left of tee is OB. If both stream OB and missed mando, drop based on first penalty and only one stroke penalty.

Patapsco Valley State Park - 11676 Marriottsville Rd, Marriottsville, MD 21104

- League HQ will be lower parking lot by tee 2
- All roads are OB where asphalt meets dirt or grass. If any part of disc is in-bounds, it is an in-bounds lie. Mark lie one meter in-bounds perpendicular to road. All mandos have drop zones delineated by red bricks.

Hole 1: Tee box side of road is OB; tee box is in-bounds. If disc fails to cross road and stay in-bounds, or crosses back over road after tee shot, mark lie where last in-bounds or re-throw from previous lie. One stroke penalty.
Hole 2: Mando on right side of fairway, must pass to left. Drop zone or re-throw from previous lie and one stroke penalty.
Hole 3: Double mando, must pass between mandos. Drop zone or re-throw from previous lie and one stroke penalty.
Hole 4: Road only is OB. Mark lie where last in-bounds and one stroke penalty.
Hole 5: Mando on left side of fairway, must pass to right. Drop zone or re-throw from previous lie and one stroke penalty.
Hole 6: Tee box side of road and road is OB. Tee box is in-bounds. If disc fails to cross road and stay in*-bounds, mark lie where last in-bounds or re-throw from previous lie. One stroke penalty.
