The Final Week - Settling ties in the standings

Monday, October 3rd is the final week for KPSL. At the conclusion of league play, payouts will be awarded to the top 40% in each division. Ties in the standings will be settled in the following manner should all tied players be present at the end of their rounds.

1. Mutual agreement
2. Head-to-head sudden death playoff

If it's too dark to hold a sudden death playoff, the following process will be used to settle ties:

2. Lowest single round score

League Officials for Monday, September 19th.

Kenney Park Summer League players:
Remember, you must play your league round with at least three but not more than five players while a league official is present at the park.
Josh Teegardin will be on the course from 12:15 - 4:00 p.m. as the designated league official. You may start your round any time after he arrives at the park.
Jason Samuel is the league administrator and will take over for Josh and be at the part until the end of the rounds.

New League Officials for Flex Rounds

Beginning with our next league round on Monday, September 12, we are taking off Labor Day, all players must complete their rounds when either the League Administrator (Jason Samuel) or a League Official is present. Josh Teegardin has agreed to be the LO from 12-4 p.m. and I will be at the park no later than 4 p.m.

You may not record a sanctioned league round prior to noon unless the League Administrator has designated a League Official to monitor that time. League Officials must be PDGA certified officials. There may be different league officials from week to week.

Handling Weather Tonight at League

League is on.

Yes, a thunderstorm is coming and will likely impact play at Kenney Park tonight. Your first instinct should be to play and to prepare for the weather.

Should there be lightning, we will suspend play for 30 minutes from the last strike. We will resume when it is safe. If you hear a long car horn sounding off during your round, leave the tee and seek shelter immediately. If you're in the middle of a hole, mark your lie and move to shelter immediately.

When the lightning is over, you will hear another horn sound or receive verbal communication form me or another CO, to return to play. There will be a two-minute warning sound prior to the restart.

Please keep in mind that only 5 of 6 weeks count in the overall standings. You may choose not to play this evening. You may also choose not to finish your round due to the weather. The round may also be called by the League Administrator due to weather or darkness.

Out Of Bounds

Know where the out-of-bounds lines are on the course.
Any disc that leaves park property is out of bounds. Holes 1, 3, 4, 13 and 14 share a boundary with private property. Anywhere there are painted lines (1&3), the line is considered out of bounds. If your disc is touching the while line and does not touch any grass (grass growing out over the OB line is still considered OB) it is considered out of bounds. The same goes for curbs. Any disc that leaves park property is out of bounds. Holes 1, 3, 4, 13 and 14 share a boundary with private property. Anywhere there are painted lines (1&3), the line is considered out of bounds. If your disc is touching the while line and does not touch any grass (grass growing out over the OB line is still considered OB) it is considered out of bounds. The same goes for curbs. All curbs are out of bounds. You may most likely encounter them on holes 6-8. If you disc is laying up against the curb and not touching grass it is considered out of bounds.

In or over all park roads, the walking track (two exceptions talked about later), sidewalks, and parking lots are out of bounds. The ball field, basketball court, sand volleyball court, gaga ball court, splash pad, lined football or soccer fields, in or on the pavilions, the bathrooms or any other structure are out of bounds. There is no relief from playground equipment near hole 7, 9 and 10. Play it where it lies.

The walking path is out of bounds if you land on it or cross over it with the exception of holes 3 and 16 (past the mando) wherein your disc is only considered out of bounds if it comes to rest on or over the path.

Retrieve an out of bounds disc from the place nearest where it went out and mark it up to one meter in bounds from that point. You will receive one penalty throw added to your hole score for each disc that lands out of bounds. NOTE: If a throw misses the mando AND goes out of bounds you will take the penalty that occurred first. You cannot be penalized twice on one throw.

Mandos

Observe all mandatories. Mandatories are indicated by the small, white, square-shaped signs with arrows that indicate the required flight path of the disc. Look for them on hole 1 (double mando), hole 3, 7, 11 (double mando), 13 and hole 16 (one new mando on telephone poll, second mando has been removed).

All mandatories will have a well-defined “drop zone” drawn out in orange paint. You will add one penalty throw to your hole score for each mandatory missed. Your goal is to “not miss” the mandatory. Your disc “misses” the mando if it breaks the plane (orange line painted on the ground). If you hit the tree and miss the mando you are good.
