Winter Session is On!

Due to the success of the inaugural fall session of Sunday Fundays, we have decided to continue the league with a winter session.

Some changes to this session include participants ability to "self-host" in case a league host is not available due to weather cancellation. There will also be no ace pot for this session, so entry fee remains at $3, allotted $2 to weekly payout, $1 to course upkeep funds.

Unofficial "Week 10" @ Wadsworth Memorial

Following on the success of our Fall 2021 "Sunday Fundays" at JUMC, we would like to do an "unofficial"/impromptu league day at Wadsworth Memorial DGC this Sunday December 5th at 1:00pm (same time). Thanks to Wiley, Phillip, Spencer, and others, with the support of the City of Wadsworth, Memorial has been recently updated to an 18 hole course! Following on the success of our Fall 2021 "Sunday Fundays" at JUMC, we would like to do an "unofficial"/impromptu league day at Wadsworth Memorial DGC this Sunday December 5th at 1:00pm (same time). Thanks to Wiley, Phillip, Spencer, and others, with the support of the City of Wadsworth, Memorial has been recently updated to an 18 hole course! All the baskets are in, and while concrete tees won't be installed until spring, this is a great opportunity to check out a course that has done an absolute 180 over the last year. If you haven't been to this course within the last year, I know you will be surprised!

***Please plan to arrive by 12:45 and check in on UDisc (the event is still under JUMC Sunday Fundays) ASAP. We will meet in the parking lot by Hole 1 (entrance near the Kaleidoscope playground sign). Cost will be the same at $3. We will use your averaged handicap from JUMC as calculated post-week 9. This round will *not* be used however in handicap calculations, as these will carry forwards to future handicap-scoring events at the Johnson UMC course.

The $3 entry fee will be fully paid out for this event (no JUMC Course Fund) as follows: $1 to payouts (same scale as league), $1 ace fund (throw off CTP after round if no aces), and $1 to cash CTP (hole determined by random draw at start of round).

Week 9 Results

First off, a big congratulations to **Carl Peterson** our overall points champion with a total of 128 points. Very nice job Carl - good shooting!

Today we had a tie for first place, with scores of 44 (-10) Nick Blair and Jon Monteith will each take home $9, splitting the $18 winner's pot. Nobody hit an ace this session, so the $100 ace pot will be used for future events. We had a throw off CTP for the $28 second ace pot, and that was won by Luke McNeil.

Week 8 Scores

Week 8 brought us a chilly, wet round, but 13 people braved the weather! Jon Owens was our winner this week, shooting a -11 (43) after handicap so he takes home $13. Of our 4 CTPs this week, Matt Woster takes 3 (Soft Judge, Putting League Entry Card, and a Winter Hat donated by Mrs. Conway) and Nick Blair took the Lottery Scratchoff (unfortunately a non-winner). Week 7 Scores

Well, we all survived a snowy, cold round! Thanks to all 19 players who showed up this week! Despite the weather, we even had three new players! Our winner this week was Joe Schank with a score of 49 (-5). Considering the weather, I would call that a great round! Nick Blair takes two CTPs this week but is offering them back as prizes next week, so the Classic Soft Judge and Putting League Entry Card will be awarded again next week. Our biggest turnout ever this week with 29 players, and our winner Carl Peterson puts up his personal best score shooting a 42 (-12). Way to go Carl! Second place was a four way tie between Blake, Ricky, Austin, and Gavin so they split the second place payout of $9 (2.25 each).

Putting League Starts Today!

Just a reminder that starting today (Thursday, Nov 4) at 6:00pm there will be an indoor putting league, hosted by Dave Ernst, in the JUMC Family Life Center (the big building immediately to the right of Hole 1 at Johnson DGC).

The cost is $5, and $1 of every entry will go towards disc golf course maintenance/improvements and $4 to weekly payouts. There will be two pools/divisions so no need to worry about going up against far more experienced players. The putting league will be held weekly on ... more

Bring yourself, $5 and 5 putters (and maybe a friend or three), and hone your putting skills this winter!

It is great practice and will almost certainly help you improve your scores on the course! With at least 4 more Sunday Funday rounds, why not get some extra putting practice in on Thursday, so you'll be ready to take down the competition on Sunday?!

Today was another great day of disc golf to finish out October! Congrats to Adam Brunner who takes home $12 as today's winner with an adjusted score of 50 (-4). Not far behind were Justin Conway and Joe Schank both at 51, though Joe was three down without a handicap. Fourth Round Scores

Despite the rain, 15 of us had a great time disc golfing today! Congratulations to Carl Peterson for the win today with a score of 48 (-6). Nice job, Carl! Additional congrats to our CTP winners this week: Pat Conway takes home an F2 Wraith (courtesy of Justin Kirkendall), Austin Healy-Boser gets a brand new Z Mantis (from Justin Conway), Carl Peterson wins a set of disc dots (from Joe Shank), and Kevin Keister had a chance to win a whole lot of cash, but unfortunately, did not win on the lotto scratch off. Concrete Pour SATURDAY OCT 23 8AM

Just a reminder that we are planning to pour the final concrete tees on Saturday! If you are able to volunteer and help out, please plan on being at the course by 8:00AM on Saturday. (No Experience Necessary!) We can use all the help we can get! This will be the last concrete pour, so don't miss your chance to tell your friends and family the you helped make this course one of the premiere courses in Northeast Ohio!

Justin K declined his mystery disc, so we will carry that over and it will be a CTP again next week! We also now have a three-way-tie on our points leaderboard, but the more people who play, the more points that are up for grabs each round, so bring (and beat) your friends to earn those points! Prizes for points leader(s) are still TBD, but at a minimum the #1 points leader will win something, so join us every Sunday to build up your points!
