weather could not be more beautiful for slinging spinning discs skyward
collect starting at 5:15, teams formed and throwing (1-10,19)*2 == 22 holes by 5:30
last week we got it done before dark w/exception: tiebreaker throw-off took place in twilight zone
the weather better eb good because I dont have time to check it see at 5:15
OG will be running the show this Tuesday. Check-in 5:15, throw by 5:30.
stretching/warmup conversation starter: what is the interest in playing 20 holes instead as dusk continues to creep towards dinner time? we could skip 11-18 and double down on the rest. please discuss on Tuesday
cool sunny weather with roaming bands of Canadian geese this evening
nice fresh breezes every now and then
moon trailing sun by about 45 degrees
we will start at 5:30 if at all possible and likely finish in the dark
fun stuff to bring: 51 club monies, glow mid and driver, UV light
light: sun sets 7:30ish, dark by 8
goal: cards formed by 5:25, throw off at 5:30
wind mild tonight with fortuitous 15 mph gusts coming off the lake on #17, and in your face on #1
ace pool still swollen -- come on peeps! this is Hudson!
in addition to your usual equipment please pack one glow mid and one glow driver and 4 medium sized pieces of glow tape <= or we can try to get out by 5:45 <= sun sets at 7:45 && totally dark by 8:15.
gentle breezes tonight - peeps are gonna score!
we will try to start earlier, sun ducks around 8, dark by 8:30. lets throw by 5:45 if we can and no big cards if we can avoid them
moon should be awesome after the round
gentle breezes with occasional gusts to sail our discs on tonight
thanks to Andy for running league last week
excellent conditions for floating discs on breezes this evening
I will be away next week on Aug 11 -- looking for someone to take over then (PM/talk after league tonight)
We have hit (just barely) the $300 cap on the Ace fund ($8 left over if that gets cleaned out tonight - I think #3 looks ripe for the taking)
Weather should be fantastic - a bit more like early Fall than Summer
thanks to Andy Bruck for running league last week
a beautiful evening as we send discs in the air is in store for Hudson tonight
I'll need someone else to run league next week on Tue July 21
perfect weather for golf this eve, maybe 12 down does the deed?
I'm new to the area and want in on the action. Is the event still on for Tuesday and if so what time?
It has been reported that Justin && Clay tied the Hudson scrambles record of 13 down. They got every hole on the front including a 2 on 8!
should be lovely weather when league rolls around this eve (the rain we will likely get is just going to cool things off and move on)
at least 10 new players last week, we had 44!
some of the names might be mixed up since one card had blanks for partners and there were 3 Adams - please put a last initial or something to help the scorekeeper
no worries about the weather tonight
8 new players last week (had 28 in total) and a few mysterious old timers finally showed up
I somehow dislodged my pocket knife on the course this evening. It is a sand colored Benchmade. I would really like to have it back if anyone finds it. I'm still surprised it fell out, that is the first time that has happened to me with that particular pocket clip.
about 15 new players have participated at least once the first two weeks or this new season. come on out and help them grow the sport!
some drizzling might happen early in the evening, but there's a better chance there will be none. remember your towel just in case.
see you around 5:30 -- first throws a bit after 6.
if you are keeping score keep in mind we count 18 and 8 as par 3's and please include the total.
spring temps and hyzers tonight w/birdies on the front and tight lines on the back: come try and take our lunch money
please arrive a tad early at least - it will be dark by 7:30 - if we tee off promptly at 5:30 we shouldn't need any glow stuff
not enough kids to make dubs happen today, thanks for all the fun, see you in the Spring!
Thanks Pete! You are awesome, thanks for all you do for this Club..... See you out there and next spring.
looks like a great day for slinging discs but we need to finish by 7:45 so we'll start on time again
going to be dark by 8pm. good weather, lets start on time so we wont need glow tape at the end of the round.
worked out OK last week with the runners -- we started on 11
weather Tue should be awesome, but we need to start early to finish before last light. 5:30 PM tee off.
Hey Pete, can you please let everyone know to be on the look out for a set a keys that was lost yesterday? They think somewhere on the back 9, most likely. They're on a black lanyard the says ECRM. Thank you!!
but we'll want to start on time if possible since dusk is 8:23 PM
right now it looks like we may get a fair bit of rain. I'll show up and see if there is interest if it looks like the rain will scoot around us.
What do you think Pete? I've got a 45 minute drive to the park.
come on out tonight and see if that Sockibomb disc you bought last night flies like a missile
the small amount of rain expected in the area does not look like a problem for throwing frisbees into baskets this evening, hope to see you there!
Andy messaged me that because of the likelihood of thunderstorms during our flying disc contest that it will almost certainly be cancelled tonight.
Thanks Andy!
he can't post to this board (yet), so just show up and throw.
Also, I won't have cash to make change, so please try to bring the exact amount.
I can't run league on July 30/August 6. Want to?
clear and cool (for this time of year), might even get some skips -- get out there and throw, make a huge putt and have some funzies
there is a 40% chance of rain in Hudson tonight, especially after dark -- little accumulation before then. Get your throws in tonight since tomorrow could be a soaking.
missing one card from last night, Seph, Jay, Matt and Nate were on it but I don't know the teams. If it stills exists I'd like a picture of it. If not and someone remembers the teams and scores that would work too.
Pete both groups scored -1, I don't recall the name of the guy who had the card. Sorry buddy.
I'll be out of town on July 30 and August 6. If you are willing to step up and run the show on either or both of those dates please let me know.
please note that if you ace tomorrow and there are more than 6 players you'll only get $300 because that's where I'm going to cap it
Pete can you explain why you Cap the Ace Fund? I don't understand why clubs do this?
Generally so that when it gets hit, there is still an Ace fund for the next week.
Scott, yeah I spoke to Pete last night at league. It is way different, back in Utah our ACE Pot gets up to 1000+, I have seen it get up to 1400 before, so just been confused why Ohio leagues cap the fund. It is not a biggie just different. Thanks for answering my question btw
ideal weather tonight for aerodynamic discs destined to descend to after a daring air dance, might even get a skip or two
if we dont throw discs at baskets who will? dont let those chains get lonely, come on out and play some scrambles tonight,
Pete K will be out of town on the 25th, so give your lunch money to Theo Mote Tue evening and try to win it back (chances are low that Pete will send a reminder on Tue ... just remember to show up and throw)
very slight chance of a few rain drops, and essentially no wind means low scores tonight. come on out and hyzer or putt your way to victory!
next week I need backup, could it be you?
I won't be able to make it on the 25th, if you're interested in taking over please let me know
great frisibee weather predicted, come on out and throw tonight
great weather tonight for delivering discs to baskets
Andy will have some NEO fundraiser discs for sale - $20
supposed to be comfortable, dry and nearly clear skies tonight with scattered discs flying discs.
6 new players last week, and a few returns to prep for Memorial.
It turns out it wasnt since only you me and Scott showed up. Thanks for stopping by on your fairwell tour!
so 3 isnt for doubles => Dip, Scott and I played a casual round in tolerable weather. There was a little bit of rain, and we saw lightning in the distance on 18 as we were finishing up, but the golf and company were good.
You are an inspirational person to the sport! Keep on keeping on! Uncle Pete
clear, cool and calm w/heavy hyzers on 10, 11 and 12
start ~ 6PM
clear skies, breezy, 100% chance of flying discs
no rain expected for doubles tonight
Barely measureable rain is expected, might need a hat to handle it.
starting at 6PM, last light at 8:45,
6PM prompt please (it will be very dark ~ 8:30 PM)
Unless anyone has a reason that we should continue to collect $1/player for the "DGA" all of the entry fee will go to payouts this year.
See you on the 16th: the sun sets then at 8:08, which gives us until ~ 8:30 to finish, so we'll try to start on time. Just in case: put a a few glow discs in your bag ;)
If you are interested in running the Tuesday league this year let me know.
Dustin Keegan & Zoe AnDyke will be at Hudson Springs at 5PM tonight for a small clinic / Q&A before dubs. Come show some support!
Hey Guys, I lost an old beat up red champion Eagle on hole 17....grip locked my annhy shot and it went into the woods by the creek. I searched for a half hour, on both sides of creek too, and never found it. Have 2 of my 4 lifetime aces with that disc, and while rarely use it (so understable I only ... more
Tee off at 5:30 - its getting dark before 8

We need to push tee off to 5:45. Please show up by 5:30 so we can get started on time and can finish before it gets dark!

the weather looks great, come toss it off! 6PM start time, try to be on time since it's starting to get dark a little earlier now.
Looks like thunderstorms all night, and I'll be stuck at work late today. We'll be back on next week!

We'll be running a Jomez Pro Final 9 event. 10-4 flex start and the top 4 scores plus a raffle winner will play a final 9 filmed by Jomez! Dustin threw in his first throw of the round on hole 1, and his last throw of the round on hole 19! Draining the $71 ace pool - he was nice enough to donate $10 back into the pot.
Way to go!!! But should have saved the second Ace for another couple of weeks lol....
Anthony Battle hit hole 19 on his first throw of the round, and Matt Green aced hole 5.
Both were generous enough to donate money back into the pot so the ace fund is at $50.
Greg said he can be there to run it.
Come play a practice round for the memorial open tonight at scrambles! We will be playing Hole 1 tee to 2's basket. Ace fund is over $200!
no - there's only one temp hole being played for the tournament though.

Tonight @ 6pm! the rain is burning off... and the weather should be FANTABULOUS.
Cheers,
E.
Playing hole 1 to 2's basket and "short" 12 this week. Ace funds at something. Eric and Cody are gone so it will be a good time.

We'll be starting Tuesday Scrambles next week on April 7th. We'll probably have to start at 5:30 for now until there's enough daylight.
We are going to delay the winter scrambles for one more week... the Parma Open is tomorrow, get out and rip them discs.
Hudson Saturday Scrambles will start October 17th.
See you then!
Hi All, Thank you for participating in our Tuesday Scramble at Hudson Springs Park! Although we planned on having our final scramble round of the year today (9/30) it looks like mother nature won't let us. The rain and lack of light cumulated into canceling scrambles.
See you next spring!
Today's the day we start a little earlier. Everyone please make sure your checked in at 5:30.
Thanks
If you plan on attending today please show up as early as possible.
Next week we will be moving the start time back to 5:30PM. As for today, 6:00PM sharp!
I'll be out there to run the scramble tomorrow 8/19... Jon is going to show his purty face just long enough to drop off the folder.
Yes! So happy this is probley one of my last scrambles since school starts on wed
Can anyone run scrambles tomorrow (8/19)? If so, message me asap. I could possible drop off the binder (with scorecards, and everything else).
If i don't hear back from anyone scrams might be cancelled. Thanks ya'll
Congrats to Adam for blasting chains on hole 6 and cashing $166!
If your keeping track at home, that's 6 total aces at Hudson Scrambles this year! Totaling nearly $500.
And first ace on the new baskets! Congrats Adam, it was cool to watch!
We will be having a work day on Saturday June 28 to pour some concrete sleeves on the current back nine, and if we have enough volunteers we will work on a couple of the new nine holes as well.
Scheduled work is from 10am to 2pm with FREE PIZZA for all volunteers, followed by a round of golf.
We could use all the help we can get. All tools are need: chainsaws, pruners, shovels, axes and most of all extra hands.
With one solid work day all of the new baskets will be in for next Tuesdays scramble
thank you all, and I hope to see you Saturday.
This is the last scramble on the 86'ers... come on out and savor one last spit out for nostalgic value.
It must be the 28 year old basket's last hurrah. Congrats to Jason Parsons on scoring a 1 on hole 10!
This time a local hit it, Greg Platt hit an ace on the first throw of the round (hole 4). Thats four aces so far this season.
If you want your score linked to your profile PM me your PDGA number or e-mail.
Work day this Thursday. I'll be out there around 5.
Another scramble, another ace. Congrats to Jeremiah Daley for smashing an ace on hole 11 and cashing 40 bucks.
We played a modified version of the course, playing hole 1 to hole 2's basket, hole 12 "short" and then original hole 18. Trying to mix it up a little, your suggestions are welcome.
Just a reminder: "check-in" is between 5:30-5:45p. For those running late or showing up right at 6... don't. If possible, send me a text and let me know your ETA. Sandman you are exempt.
Thank you everyone for the best showing of the year, stay tuned for workdays.
U can be exempt also Katie, we can pre sign you up if we know ur coming. Just lemme know!
Yeah.. I tried that once. It's why I haven't been there lately. It's cool I was tired of donating my money anyways.
Start time will be pushed back to 6:00 PM starting next Tuesday 5/13.
Check in is at 5:30 - 5:45!
Good things a-happening, lets keep the mo going.
Before the round Ron told me his friends liked to call him the "Ace Man". I can see why! Ron has paid off his mortgage and his car loan with the Ace money he has cashed this winter/spring!
Congrats to Ron!
I already said congrats in the ace but I really want to say congrats on paying off your mortgage; that's a big weight lifted off you shoulders.
Thanks Andrew! Nice round out there Tuesday...one more Ace and we would have won.
Just checked our weather situation for this afternoon 4/29, and it looks like only a 20-30% chance of rain between 5-7 PM. So... I'll be out there to run scrams. Come play in the rain!
im prob gonna be a little late but i'll play if ya'll wanna wait for me
I'll need someone to run/help run scrambles on 4/8. I won't be there.
Thanks,
Jon
cody if you want me to post the scores just PM me the people and the scores
Pete left Ohio? Say it ain’t so bro.
