FTS DISC GOLF CLUB TAG CHALLENGE RULES
Conduct
1. Have fun. Period. Everyone is on their honor to conduct themselves according to the rules and within the spirit of competition. It's only a tag. The purpose of the FTS DGC Tag Challenge is to encourage friendly competition among fellow FTS DGC members.
2. In order for the FTS DGC Tag Challenge to work, all challenges must be accepted.
3. Each player must have their FTS DGC Tag at all times during tag challenge rounds. FTS Tags must be plainly visible and cannot be hidden during tag rounds.
4. Challenges are to be made by choosing times and courses that are reasonable.
5. Friendly side wagers of any kind can be made at the discretion of the participants, but are NOT required.
6. Players must pay to hold a tag. If no payment has been made, tag must be returned and/or no tag will be issued.
7. Players who let 9 weeks pass without FTS tag play should forfeit tag for highest existing tag.
Challenges
1. Challenges will run after the completion of the FTS April Fools’ Day Championship until two weeks prior to the next FTS AFDC.
2. The higher FTS Tag challenges the lower FTS Tag. Challenges can be made by phone, ransom note, computer, in person, or any other form of communication.
3. The challenged player must give the challenger two (2) times to meet in the next two (2) weeks or the challenged player must forfeit the tag. If the challenger cannot meet that timeline, the challenge is void. Not showing up for a match results in a forfeit. (10 minute leeway) A little razzing is in good humor but let’s understand everyone has schedules.
4. The challenged player picks the course, tees and format. Format choices include: stroke play, match play, doubles/triples etc. PDGA rules apply minus drinking and smoking(refer back to Conduct 1.) If the challenger wins the round, the tags are exchanged.
5. Ties are won by the holder of the lower FTS tag at the beginning of the round. However, if ALL players agree BEFORE the round starts; a play-off hole(s) can be used as a tie-breaker using sudden death rules, closest to pin(CTP), etc.
6. You don't have to play back-to-back challenge rounds against the same player or in a multi-player match with the exact same opponents. A player can't challenge you, lose to you, and immediately challenge you again for another round. However, if ALL parties agree, consecutive round challenges are allowed. Challenges MUST be verbally agreed upon at the beginning of EACH round.
7. Incomplete round: If a player does not complete a FTS tag challenge round, the exiting player should trade tags with the player with the highest tag number. If play is stopped by all players before the round is complete, no tags are exchanged. This could be due to hazardous weather, physical emergency, or mutual agreement.
8. Multiple people at the same course at the same time can have a group challenge with 5 or less playing in the group. If more than 5 are present the group should split into cards of at least 3 and play proceeds as if it were a tournament/league.
Tournaments/Leagues
1. All FTS tag holders MUST participate in challenges at a tournament. No Match Play unless tournament is Match Play. (Handicapped leagues: play is straight up)
2. The tags are thrown into a pool and distributed by score at the end of the tourney/league not round by round. No sudden death to decide ties and final nine rounds/playoffs exempt from challenges.
3. Players using different tees in tournaments are competing against only other players using the same tee format.
4. In the event of the FTS flag being present at tournament play, there will be a CTP contest for said flag during or at the completion of tournament play for FTS DGC tag holders. Current possessor of the FTS flag must bring the flag to the tournament and chooses the hole for CTP competition. Immediately following the completion of the FTS flag CTP, the winner should be permanently recorded on the FTS flag pole so their legacy will forever shine and becomes the bearer of the flag until the next CTP contest.
5. In the event of the FTS chunk being present at tournament play, there will be a closest to tee (CTT) contest for said chunk during the tournament play for FTS DGC tag holders. Current possessor of the FTS chunk must bring the chunk to the tournament and choose the hole for CTT competition. Immediately following the completion of the tournament and the prestigious FTS CTT, the winner should be permanently recorded on the FTS chunk so their legacy will forever shine and becomes the bearer of the chunk until the next CTT contest.
