If you haven't heard, the city has finally decided to cleanup the campers from the Davis DGC parking lot. I was there yesterday and there's still a couple vehicles that need to be removed, and a few trash camps in the woods, but the actual course is open and playing great. The snow is melting fast and all the short teepads are snow/ice free. So go get some rounds in and let's not let the course get away from us. We will be mixing Davis into our Tuesday night league rotation.
Shameless pat on the back for myself (Dan Allen) and James Robinson, your league coordinators, as we finished week 10 atop the leaderboard with each of us shooting our personal best score (at the Goon) and rating in a round to take 1st and 2nd place this week.
Thank you to everyone who played this winter. It was great to play with new players to the league and the same old chuckers I've been disc'ing with over the years. We had 32 people play and 160 rounds played. We enjoyed some ...

Ratings update! We gained a 1,000 rated round and lost one. Congrats James Robinson on his first 1,000 rated round! Week 1 Beckner -13 1,019, W2 Allen -11 (17 hole layout) 1,002, W3 Groves -13 1,019, W6 Beckner -12 1,005, W9 Purpero -14 1,033, W10 Allen -14 1,033, and Robinson -13 1,019.
Pretty much it was the Purpero show out there. He laid a scorcher down for sure. Best score of the winter leagues at -14, most birdies in a row (11) getting the 2 on holes 15-7. And he did it all in snow pants! I for one plan to dress like it's the first time I've ever disc golfed in the snow as well. Just kidding Anthony, well done sir!
Weslee came back from his hiatus to take down B pool by two strokes. His 945 rated -8 was his best showing this series. And Mr. Sal DelReal took hi ...

Get your money in for league if you're playing! Same time same place as usual - Goon 11am Sat.
Pads are all good except for 6. It’s full of water. Tee off next to or behind if needed. Not in front. Or bring a broom or scoop shovel and bail that bad boy out. Also someone took down some broken trees on 7/ 8. If you happen to land in a brush pile, play it like a bush. Get in there and putt. Ain’t nobody got time for you to clear a lie. And no free relief either.
Return of the Oliver. First time of the session that A pool didn't take the overall win. So congrats to B pool convincing Oliver to come out of hibernation and shoot a -11 to take down B pool and the weekend hot score. A pool still did ok with Will and Frank both shooting -10. And C pool forgot that it's a competitive league and all got the same score.
B pool outshot their collective rating by almost 19 points (Oliver alone was 80 points better than his rating. A and C pool both we ...

There are only 3 weeks (including this week) left in this league and AK tournament season is just around the bend!
Get your money in for Saturday at the Goon if you plan to play! If there's anyone you'd like to play with, let me know in your Venmo note.
Let's talk highlights!
First and foremost were all the aces! I personally saw 4 aces Saturday. I should start charging people to watch them play. Sramek hit a warmup round ace on 7 while we were checking pads and throwing shots. Groves pure'd hole 3 during the round with his Buzzz and hit chains for the first paid ace of the day. We got a little excited watching that one hit home. Purpero beat up on hole 7 again with an ace while my card was standing on 6's pad and still glowin ...

Get your money to me if you plan on playing this Saturday! We'll be back at the Goon as usual. The forecast looks mild and there's likely to be some light snow flurries.
Due to a St. Patricks Day Race, Spenard Rd will be closed, so please plan on taking W 19th Ave to get to the DG parking lot.

We grouped all cards by rating this week and I've only heard positive feedback. We'll continue to revisit this format for a change of pace.
Welcome back King James from his best ever finish at the Memorial Championship. Getting some cash with his 24th place finish. Beckner took down leagues again this week. He's played leagues twice this session and won twice. His drives were so-so, but his putting was great. We had 9 players in A pool and 7 players got paid out. 4th place was ...

Hello and welcome to week 6. The course is playing HOT with 3 aces in 3 consecutive leagues. Groves hole 6 Weds Dubs 2/28, Allen hole 7 Sat Leagues 3/2, and Griffin hole 2 Weds Dubs 3/6. An Ace tomorrow pays out over $50! Venmo James Robinson today!
Week 5 Highlights:
- Salvador got a turkey! Holes 5-7. This is his first of series 20. Only non-A pool player to card 3 birds in a row. Congrats man!
- Also a first this series is we birdied every hole. Congrats to the following guys who got sol ...

It was another chilly day at the goon with some moderate winds. Dan Allen was the big winner of the week, taking home $200 thanks to his $182 ace with a beautiful backhand hyzer around the trees on hole 7, plus 1st place for A pool. Congrats to Dan! Will and Scott were the closest competition in A pool, both posting respectable -8s to split the 2nd/3rd A Pool payouts.
Wes took town the B Pool at -5 by keeping bogey free and never birdying the same hole twice - nice versatility! Naz had the sa ...

Hello fellow plastic enthusiasts. Never too early to get on the roster for Saturday disc golf. Venmo your money to James Robinson please.
Ice Bowl Recap:
Scores were the highest we've seen in 2024 by far. I'm sure it had nothing to do with the unlimited mulligans. Frank and Scott shot perfect -18s to tie for best score. Groves did it the boring way by scoring birdie on every hole. Frank started the round with a very unimpressive par on hole 4 and then decided to spice it up with th ...

But first a reminder that there will not be any league play this Saturday 2/24. We will resume with week 5 on 3/2.
Instead join us for the 2024 Ice Bowl this Saturday. Check-in starts and 9:45 am and we tee off at 11:00 am. Only about half the slots are filled so far. Bring a fat stack of singles and buy your way to your first tournament win. Or 100th win, who cares, it's charity.
Week 4 was the first time we didn't have a 1,000 rated round this session. Scores were ok, but not g ...

Weather is still warm. Let's play disc golf tomorrow while the throwing is still good. Venmo Dan today please. So far we have 9 winter warriors signed up.
Don't forget to sign up for 2024 ADGA membership or it's $11. There's a handful of weekly players who aren't club members.
Also all players must keep score in sanctioned rounds. There is no "I forgot"... please shame all players on your card into compliance.
Never to early to sign up for Saturday League. It looks like the weather is going to stay nice and warm.
Venmo Dan (at)danallen1919 while James is out of town this weekend. If you don't see your name on the PDGA webpage with a hole assignment, then text me to find out if I received your payment.
A few highlights from week 3:
Scott matched Beckner's week 1 performance with a -13. He also had the longest birdie streak with 5 in a row on holes 17-3. Congrats to Chung and J. Robinso ...

We had the warmest round of 2024 today, but for some reason scores were a bit colder than usual. Maybe we've all gotten used to throwing with extra layers on. On the bright side, we did have a nice crowd of 14 players with 5 players in A pool, 7 in B pool, and 3 in C pool.
Scott annihilated everybody today with a scorcher at -13 (unofficially rated 1018!). Frank was his closest competition shooting a very solid -8 despite bogeying his second to last hole. Big Mike and I tied for first in ...

We'll be back at Westchester Lagoon again this Saturday. Get your money in to me if you plan on playing!
The moose remained feisty during doubles last night, so please be cautious while you're out there. If a hole is unplayable due to the presence of moose, we will remove/skip holes as necessary during sanctioned league.

An advanced note for Week 4 (2/17) - Dan Allen will be collecting funds and signing folks up as I'll be out of the country. Dan' ...

David and Naz finished 1 and 2 just as they did week 1 continuing their reign on top of B Pool. B pool paid out 4 out of 6 players this week.
Dan topped the 4 player A pool with Will also finishing with come e-cash in his account.
C pool boycotted the round. So I guess honorary winner will be Pohler this week. Congrats Tyler!
Tomorrow night is Wednesday Night Lights! Presumably at the goon. Weather will be in the low 20s all night and the pads were ...

Get signed up for leagues ASAP and live rent free in your competitors heads the next couple days as they bite their nails and wonder if they dare sign up to challenge your awesomeness.
Don't forget to sign up for ADGA 2024 membership or it's $11. Also, all players must keep score per the new PDGA rules (our league is PDGA sanctioned).
Since it was so cold this week, Scott made Wednesday Dubs double points! Not to be out done, I'm assigning triple points to anyone who plays ...

Just another reminder that tomorrow will be the overly long and complicated tournament name aka Tyler Pohler's doubles tournament, so we are skipping sanctioned leagues for the week.
But we can reminisce on last week!
Beckner gets the overachiever award for outshooting his rating by 65 points! Graham gets the super streaker award for his 5 birdie streak on holes 5-9. Pool C gets the hammer & sickle award for collectively shooting 31.5 points above their rating. The I play it safe/I& ...

Kudos to you Dan for picking up Joe's torch and running with it as far as these recaps go. I always enjoy reading them even though I don't play : )
Just a reminder that there will be no sanctioned league this Saturday, Jan 27th. We will be back for Week 2 on 2/3. If the teepads are cleared, we'll be playing Davis - keep an eye on the schedule listed here.
Congratulations to James Beckner for a hot round at the goon last week. I believe his -13 round is the best we've seen so far for this winter. Dave Sramek took down B pool with a solid round at -4 and Jeremey Loukas edged out Sal DelReal by one stroke for the C pool win.
Have been willing to go clear the pads several times, but everyone else is scared. There are multiple camped vehicles near where we park, so I understand it. I'd love to play it again this winter, but probably won't make the effort if it's not going to be played. It's deep out there for sure.
Send me your entry fees if you plan on playing on 1/20. We'll be at Westchester. If you have a hankering to play Davis again, I encourage you to go out and clear a tee pad or two. There is a lot of work to be done out there, but it would be nice to have a bit of variety for the league.
There will not be a league round on 1/27 as it conflicts with the Haskin Hardwood's Bass doubles challenge. Round 2 for the league will be on 2/3.
Wrapping up Series 19:
