4.23.17 RECAP!! WINTER LEAGUE FINAL RESULTS!!

Another great season with this rabble has come to a close! Our final league round was a small crowd but a fun one. We played Arthur Latham and let me tell ya, that is a rowdy course to say the least! 7 pirates total, winning the day, for the first time in their doubles history was Nels Farnstrom/Myself with a -4! The real winner though was Norm Raby with a laser beam ace on hole for taking $132 of pirate booty, CHAAAAAAA!!

Thank you all who came out and not only supported our league by showing up but also putting up with our shenanigans! I was a great season and certainly a ton of fun! Well...all that voting all for not! Ball golf courses don't make for good mob rounds so I pulled a power move! After a few solid suggestions, we are going to head to Millington (east of Frankendurp) to a wooded gem called Arthur Latham! It is said to be tight and challenging with lots of hole to donate to the quarter sack! Get off your butts and meet us up there for some good ol' shenanigans! 4.23.17 MARLETTE DGC A NO GO!! TIME TO MAKE A DECISION...

Well, just found out some news about Marlette that will nix it from our adventure. Marlette is on a golf course (which no one seemed to know either). There is no f#@!ing way they will let us mob their course on the busiest day of the week at the busiest time of the morning. That being said, I'd still like to go that direction to play. There are some course that are near the Saginaw area that would be a ton of fun to play with the format in which we play. Wickes Woods & Tittabawassee Par ... more

What a gorgeous Easter it was for some discin! We had 11 pirates including a few new ones, CHAAA! We played all 18 plus 3 longs and we doubled down on hole 12 as well for a total of 19 holes! Tied for the W was Swanky Franky/Brett Piziali & Ryan Presnell/Myself at -9!!

This is our final week for Sunday league. As stated last week, we are gonna travel to a course less traveled to close out the season. I have heard some good suggestions and I have come up with these 4 courses. Unfortunately ... more

This is our final week for Sunday league. As stated last week, we are gonna travel to a course less traveled to close out the season. I have heard some good suggestions and I have come up with these 4 courses. Unfortunately Addison Oaks has a tourney that day so that one is out (obviously) If for some reason one that I listed has a tourney or league that I do not know about let me know. Here they are:

Burchfield Park
Sleepy Hollow State Park
Victory Park (Albion)
Marlette DGC

They are all roughly 50 - 60 miles away. I have been to 3 of them and they are awesome. The final one I threw on there for fun. I've never played it but the reviews seemed good so what the hell right!? Cast yer vote for this final epic journey of the season! CHAAAAAAA!!!!

I chose to make this Sundays round at Cass due to it being Easter. I know that some of you may have family/religious obligations so I made it close to a centralized area where most pirates can come if they can then dip out fast if necessary. 3.19.17 FIREFIGHTERS, TROY MI! TEE @ 10AM!!

Well it came down to a tie & since I am looking to play somewhere with pads I was forced to cast a vote (which I normally try to stay out of). Since I decided to go the way I went, I will compromise! Thanks to all who joined us on Sunday, it was gorgeous out there! BIG thanks to Todd White for not only hosting us on his awesome course, but also for donating some great CTP's as well! We are planning to sail on out to Kalamazoo the final week of February. I felt that giving everyone a few weeks to plan was a solid idea. So the bigger question remains, where do we play? Brighton rec has finally added 9 more holes and let me tell ya, they're rowdy!! It has been almost 3 years since we have been there so this will be a good time. There is A LOT of trees so make sure you bring them quarters. Depending on time we may try and safari a few if the ADA holes like we did last time if you can remember that far back. CHAAAAA!!!!

1.8.17 INDEPENDANCE LAKE!! TEE OFF @ 10AM!!

Just a reminder that our disc exchange is coming up this Sunday at Waterworks in Ypsi. It sounds like we may get raided by an unnamed local club so even though the "tourney" page isn't full there is gonna be a pretty good turn out (I hope). Well, thank you to the 2 people that took 3 seconds out of their busy schedule to vote for a course (implied sarcasm). It was a tie but I will add my vote for Cass since it is supposed be a pretty poopy weekend. If your pirate enough to join us we will be meeting at 9:30am and teeing off by 10am. 12.11.16 RECAP!! 12.18.16 VOTING!!

It was a wild day of disc golf I can tell you!! We started with 3" of snow on the ground and left with at least 6" total. 5 brave pirates went on that journey and all 5 made it back. We played 1-3, The new 12 extras, A - F, 13 - 18. B/Rico & Phipps/Reslock tie with a -1.

12.11.16 INDEPENDENCE LAKE!! TEE OFF 10AM!!

I thought about making this week a vote but I already knew what the verdict would be! That being said we will be sailing to (IMO) the best course in the area! We will be integrating the new holes so this will be at least a 24 hole affair! Bring yer quarters, dirties & plenty of CHAAAA!!!

1.1.17 NEW YEARS DAY DISC EXCHANGE ROUND!! WATERWORKS!!

Each year around Christmas we have a disc exchange. Bring a disc or discs around $15 or so wrapped in something (xmas paper, bag, box, newspaper, etc.). At the conclusion of the round based on how well you scored each player (that brought a gift) will get to pick a gift out of what everyone brought. It is really a ton of fun. In years past we have had a pretty good turn out so lets keep that going!

It was a wonderful day at Bandemer, we had 8 players total! Tied at -12 we had Redman/Reslock & Nels/Pizi! Congrats to Jeff Hepler with an ace on hole #4 red. He netted $64 & 10 extra points!

11.20.16 DGLA KICKOFF RAID!! TEE OFF 10:30AM!!

Like we do every year, we will be taking a week off and meeting up with (raiding) Ypsi Dubs & Night Moose to start the 7th annual point series! This year Terry Calhoun will be hosting it at BRATS (where we were last week), unlike previous years when it was at The Farm House. There will be 2 rounds. Ypsi Dubs tees of at 10:30am. There is an intermission after that which is usually a chili cook off. I am not sure what the deal with that is but I am sure no one would be pissed if you decided to ... more

11.13.16 BRATS RECAP!!

Thanks to all that came out, it was a great day indeed! An even bigger thanks goes out to Terry & Sheila Calhoun for letting our ugly mugs stink up their amazing course!!

We had 16 players in total (which made me happy!) We played blue & red tees. Ben Calhoun/Stevo takes the W with a -8, good shooting fellas! Next week will actually back at BRATS! There is another post coming for that soon!

Please remember to clean up after yourself you scurvy dogs! Terry says he will have brats & burgers on the grill too! Also it is Flea & Ben's daughter Lillian's 1st Bday so show some love! 10.23.16 HOLLY WOODS!! FALL/WINTER KICKOFF!! 10AM TEE OFF!!

After much consideration it is decided that we will be going to Holly to start things off for the season. Other locations sounded great but Holly is a solid course, it isn't ridiculously far away & we also have never done a league round there (as long as my tenure has ran anyway). Bring yer dirties and a lot of quarters for this one because we will be playing the back six!! CHAAAAAAA!!

There are 2 automatic exceptions so pay attention. IDYLWILD is being planned already for another time so don't vote for that.THE DOJO is also off limits because it is closed for the season so that is also a no go. Don't look foolish by voting either of them because it shows ... more
