The Singapore room will feature 4 beers on draft along with a special food menu. The club will be purchasing appetizers for all. Please bring money for beer, additional food, and tips for your wonderful servers.

Hopefully each of you have a safe and enjoyable labor day weekend. If you're playing in the State Finals, good luck! Before your weekend begins, let's talk about Hi-Lo Doubles.

Tuesday will be our last week of official play for the 2015 year. If you are a yearly member with an established handicap, you're eligible for Hi-Lo Doubles! I will follow up this post with those eligible so there is no guessing. Each person will be assigned a doubles partner from their division. ... more

Tuesday will be our last week of official play for the 2015 year. If you are a yearly member with an established handicap, you're eligible for Hi-Lo Doubles! I will follow up this post with those eligible so there is no guessing. Each person will be assigned a doubles partner from their division. Assignments will be based on lowest handicap in the division paired with the highest handicap in the division, followed by 2nd lowest handicap paired with 2nd highest handicap, etc. Handicap tie-breakers were determined by previous week's handicaps with the tie going to the player with the lower previous handicap. In the case of odd numbers in a division, some people may have to play 'California' rules. Please read below for important information about Tuesday's Hi-Lo:

- Plan to arrive prior to 5pm. It is important that you check in at the table near #1 to let us know that you are present.

- Player's meeting at 5:15pm sharp, teeoff to follow soon after.

- We will be playing 24 holes in the yellow pin positions.

- Payouts will occur the following week at the year-end party (details of the party will be communicated next week) so there is no reason to stick around after you hand in your scorecard.

- This will be considered a tournament round so please mark scorecards with the actual number you scored on the hole: 2,3,4, etc. Your score on the card should be the total strokes, for example: 52. Do not put the number under or over par you are. Incorrect scores will receive a 2 stroke penalty! Triple check your scores and/or bring a calculator!

- We're paying out $2,320 bucks!

4th - $80
5th - $60
6th - $30

- Playoffs for 1st through 4th places in each division will start promptly after the conclusion of our round. You must be present to play-off! 1st place ties will be determined by sudden death playoff starting on Hole E (glow discs?) while 2nd-4th ties determined by CTP throw-off. Payouts will occur once playoffs have concluded.

- There will be a raffle for limited edition Ledgestone discs to help fund our new league table. Please support the cause and bring some $1's!

- Tonight is the last night to earn points for the 2015 season.

- 9/8 is our league Hi-Lo doubles tournament...more details to come.

For the first time in league history, we have a two-way tie for best adjusted score! Chad Cole and Mike Jager both shot a 56 and with their 11.1 handicaps, it is adjusted to 45. Hot round of the night goes to Zachary Vaughn as he paired 8 deuces against 1 bogey for a 47.

The points race has heated up as familiar foes are at the top of the leaderboard. Travis Prueter holds on to the top spot by just 6 points over Zachary Vaughn as Zach catapults up the leaderboard. David Kleiman is lurking ... more

With a personal best 62, Stephen Nottingham takes the best adjusted score for week 16 with a 41. He edged out Jamie Cusack by only 0.4 of a stroke. Posting his 2nd hot round in a row, Craig Pluger is rounding into end of year form and was joined by Travis Prueter with 49's.

If you didn't see the course in the past 4 days, you will notice that she's wearing her "makeup". Lines have been painted for the OBs and 10m circles are around all of the baskets. We will be using the lines for OB as long as we can see them (not the general outline of the road as we usually do). The log pile ... more

The log pile on 15 will remain casual relief for the remainder of the year with a drop zone for all shots that find the wood. Hole 8 still has a mando sign but that does not apply for the remainder of the year. However, you lefties and bomber sidearmers may consider keeping the mando line as it very well could become a rule in 2016 for safety reasons.

Week #14 Scoring Race

We had quite a bit of movement within the top ten, most of which was in the middle of the pack. No change in the top 3 but Jason Rodriguez slips from 4th to 7th place. Picking up his slack was Rob Buit jumping 2 spots up to 4th place. The new comer to the top 10 this week is Craig Pluger fresh off the heels of his stellar round of 50 last night!

Week #14 Results

Before we get into the Week #14 results, I wanted to remind everyone that the Shore Acres Open is next weekend 8/15 and 8/16. I will set up a table next Tuesday night to take registration for the event. 10 spots each day will be reserved for Shore Acres club members whom have yet to register. After Tuesday, those spots will be removed in favor of online and day-of signups. I will also be accepting hole sponsorships which are $30 a piece. Now on to week #14...
Joe DeGroot put together some nice holes last night to cap off the 2nd best adjusted score ever recorded on the yellow pins with a 40 (40.4)! Meanwhile, we had 3 players in the 40's for actual score lead by Ryan Vandenbosch's 47 which ties for the 3rd best league round on the yellow pins! Hopefully we have a few more nights this year with the weather we had last night...calm and in the mid to upper 70's.

Week #13 marks the return of the scoring race after the bye week during divisionals. Don't expect much change at the top as Zach has nearly a 3 stroke lead over 2nd place. The real action will take place in positions 4 through 10 where there is only a 1.6 stroke gap. It will be fun to watch down the home stretch as players jockey for position to claim a place in the coveted top 10.

Week #13 Results

With the hot temps came hot scores, wow! The course played to an average of 3.5 strokes less than the yearly yellow pin average. I guess people were happy to get back to the yellow pins after 6 weeks in the black locations.
Surprisingly, there were no members scores below 50 as the hot rounds were taken by Nate Mihos, Travis Prueter, and Zachary Vaughn. On the other hand, we had some amazing adjusted scores with Jamie Cusack (40), Elvis Hadzalic (41), Steve Porretta (42), and Ron Sampson (4 ... more

Stealing the show was Bob Blanton with a smoking hot, Best Adjusted Score record of 38! In his words it was the round of his life. Nice shooting!
Overtaking the top of the points standings is Travis Prueter (744), replacing Jory (740) for the top spot. The points race should start to heat up in the coming weeks as rounds start to drop from the standings in week 15.

Hello,

The points from week #12 have been added to disc golf scene. Jory Koopman takes over 1st place with David Kleiman being absent. David drops to 2nd place 21 points behind our leader. Travis Prueter and Brian Fitz round out the top 3 27 points behind Jory.

-Please check-in at the table near hole #1 between 4:30pm and 5:10pm
-Player's meeting at 5:15pm
-Tee-off at 5:30pm sharp!

Week #10 Results

A windy week #10 night caused average scores to rise approximately 1 stroke higher than average but separating himself from the pack was Chris Martinez shooting a smoking hot adjusted score of 44 (60). Another first for the league...Chris is the first person to shoot the best adjusted score and be naughty in the same week! He still would have had the best score with his wrong score of 61. Cooling off this week (compared to last) but still shooting the hot score was Zachary Vaughn with a 54. ... more

It was another 0.1 "stroke" finish in week #9 as Ben Barton edged out Joel Cooper for the best adjusted score award on the night by shooting a 59 adjusted to 47. Ben's 59 is the first time that he's shot in the 50's on the black layout during league beating his previous best by 3...nice! On the straight scoring side of things, Zach Vaughn paired 6 deuces against one 4 to shoot a smoking hot, black pins course record tying 49.

Scoring Race - Week #8

Here is a look at the scoring race through week #8 as well as a reminder on the rules:

- Three rounds in the black pins are needed in order to qualify for year end scoring race prizes.
- Divisional rounds will not be included in calculations due to the different layout (24 holes). However, they may be used for tie-break situations.
- Scoring calculations = ((Yellow Rounds Avg * 2) + Black Rounds Avg)) / 3 - Yellow rounds are doubled due to the fact that we play 12 weeks on them, 2/3rds of ... more

The giant pile of logs are still on the fairway of #15 and will come into play significantly more during black pin play. The area will be repainted with a drop zone move. If your disc comes to rest anywhere within the painted log zone, proceed immediately to the drop zone for your next shot without penalty. Week #5 Results

Before I get into the week's results, I want to mention that next week (6/9) is our 1st Divisional tournament for qualified members, no guests. Check-in is 4:15pm-5pm, player's meeting 5:15pm, and shotgun teeoff at 5:30pm sharp. With disc golf celebrities in town, it seemed that everyone brought their A-game. Week 5's adjusted score average was 3 and a half strokes lower than the previous 4 week average! Leading the way was a clean shaven Nate Mihos becoming the first person during regular season play to claim both the Hot Round and Best Adjusted Score honors with a 48 and 42 respectively. If you currently sport a beard, you may consider shaving for next week as it helped Nate drop 15 strokes from his week 4 score!
In other news, we had 5 members post scores better than Paul Ulibarri (the #5 ranked player in the world at year-end 2014) while Catrina Allen (2014 FPO World Champion) bested 93 of our members.
Curtis Busscher remains on top in the overall points standings but his lead is diminishing with David Nelson, Chad Cole, and Mike Wolters hot on his heels.

Week #4 Results

The rains came, some played through, but nice weather prevailed for those that teed off close to 5pm. Taking center stage on the night with his first adjusted score win was Ryan Settlemyre edging out Adam Wolters by 3 tenths of a stroke, both with 45's. Zachary Vaughn notched his 3rd hot round of the early season with a bogey free 51. Curtis Busscher continues to lead the way in the points race (303) and posted a solid 79 points in week 4. The curse of the Best Adjusted Score struck again as week #2's champ Mike Dvorak struggled in his follow up performance much like Jeff England's choke round last week. The Best Adjusted Score winner is averaging 10.5 strokes worse the week after winning the award! This means Jason Butch may have a long night next Tuesday. Shooting the hot round in the cold temps was Steve DeWitt with a 52.

Week #2 Results

It was a record setting night as we had 103 players post scores, wow! Adding to the rare feats of the night, we had an unofficial hot round posted by a non-member guest - Andy H shooting a 48 with 9 deuces. While he won't win a member award, I think he'll be satisfied with his play heading into Dunes View Doubles this Saturday. Hats off to Mike Dvorak for posted the best adjusted score for the night - his 67 was a net 42. With that performance, he's lowered his handicap by 3.8 ... more

I can't think of a better way to start the season than a poem, so here goes:

Greetings all. Tomorrow night kicks off the first official night of the 2015 Shore Acres Summer League. According to Rob's calculations, it has been exactly 238 days since the end of the 2014 Summer league. We have waited a long time, but the return of Tuesday night disc golf at Shore Acres is now upon us and you can feel the excitement in the air (or perhaps that is a storm front moving our way). Either way, Tuesday will be an exciting night. Here a few brief announcements about the first official league night.

There will be a brief meeting at approximately 5:15 to kick off the season. This meeting is totally optional (or in disc golf terms, it is not a mando). If you have already finished your round or are still waiting to tee off for your league round, feel free to stop by the meeting area near hole 1 to meet some new folks, thank our sponsors, and to celebrate the beginning of the 2015 season.

Speaking of sponsors, we once again have an amazing group of returning and new sponsors for this year. More details regarding all of our sponsors and the ways that they our supporting the league will be highlighted in future communications. Speaking of sponsors, returning sponsor Sweet Spot Disc Golf will be on hand Tuesday night with their mobile store. Be sure to check them out and their amazing selection and service.

In order to accommodate people who want to start their league round earlier in the day and to help with congestion on the course during league nights, members will be able to tee off this year beginning at 3:00 and still have a chance at the weekly CTP prizes. The check-in table will be staffed up until 6:00 on league nights, and we encourage members to try to get to the course close to that time so that they enough daylight to get their round in. As in the past, scorecards, should go in the box near Hole 1's teepad at the end of the night. CTP markers will be picked up at the end of the night and winners will be able to claim their prizes the following week.

As we have done over the last couple of weeks, we are asking all players to start their round on Hole 1. This seems to be working pretty well so far, but we will continue to evaluate this and other ideas about how to maximize enjoyment and efficiency for all with the record numbers of people wanting to play on Tuesday nights.

Preseason #4 Results

I think there may be another scorecard floating around out in the abyss so the results are semi-official. Let me know if you don't see your scores posted. This is a good time to remind you, please ensure that you place your scorecard in the black drop-box by #1's tee after the round.

Meanwhile, Zach went on the offensive on the back 9 with 6 birdies to keep Dennis from achieving the ultra rare feat of winning the Hot Round and Best Adjusted Score.

Preseason #4 Tee Times

It's Tuesday!

We're happy to announce that league play may begin starting at 3pm today as CTPs will be on the course and scorecards will be available in the box next to #1's tee. It is recommended that all players tee off before 6pm. Staff will be on hand from 4:30pm until 6pm to take registrations and answer questions.

Good luck today, I predict that we'll see multiple sub par rounds along with a handful of personal bests in this the last tune-up before official league play begins.

Andrew Folkert should be awarded for his honesty. There was a scoring error and he actually shot a 67, not a 57. That means that Tyler Miller wins the best adjusted score for P3 with a 49 (62)!

-Our last preseason on 4/28 will be on the yellow pins.
- Scores have been bad this year! Due to this unfortunate fact, we will implement a new naughty protocol. Any incorrect score will be docked 5 points come official league play starting May 5th! A wrong score will be like losing to 5 more people…being naughty has its consequences.

Shore Acres Birdie Bash - April 25. Must register by April 20.

Remember to register for the Shore Acres Birdie Bash by Monday April 20 at midnight. This event is open to players of all skill levels. For $30, you will receive two Vibram discs of your choice, a Vibram disc golf shirt, and Vibram coaster mini. Winners will be eligible to play in the Vibram Birdie Bash World Championships held in July in Kalamazoo.

Preseason #2

- Course cleanup this Saturday!! 9am at Shore Acres, bring work gloves, rakes, shovels, gas leaf blowers, and any other yard work equipment you think may help. We will meet near Hole 1 to discuss work details.
- Preseason on April 21st we will be shooting the black pins with April 28th back on the yellow pins.

The weather cooperated and the temperature was nice last night so low scores were expected...and …that wasn't the case. However, we did set a SADGC record…most league players ever! 80 members (4 non members) were on the course Tuesday.
