Man, I ain't been here in two years. Monty Dubs 17 is Saturday. The course is in beautiful shape. It is currently 18 holes, all in the woods, pins are short except 7 and 11, and it's a par 56.

I don't come on here very often because frankly facebook does it better. IF you are on here, looking at this course and deciding whether to go there or not, consider:

1. It has 18 baskets, and in a few weeks, it will be a 20 hole course with holes in the open.
2. Only a few pads are concrete, but pads are big and flat. A few have a root or two that I need to get rid of, but the pads are big so you can work around them.
3. Each hole has a teesign. Direction signs are right now painted ... more

The Monty's looking good. The end of this week will see tee signs on every teepad and (hopefully) a course full of newly painted and numbered baskets. All grass has been mowed.

Work day this Saturday at 10. If anyone knows how and with what to paint a basket or 17, let me know. Playing round after the work.

The course is looking much better today, thanks to the efforts of Wade doing what he calls "Light Trimming" on 3, 4, 5, 10, and others. I got the bush hog out on the open holes, making them playable again. In a week the place will look spiffy.

July 16-21

If you're thinking of a trip to the Monty, wait a few days. I need to mow 14, 15, and 16 to make it more presentable. All the holes are playable, but those aren't as pretty as they should be.

I shot a -7 today. Not sure that it's a record on the par 57, but definitely a PR. 9 birdies also is probably a PR.

Still no word on how to change the par to 57.

We'll have some roundage this weekend, for anyone who wants some Monty on their holiday. Fireworks and such at my house.
