Matthew Hull 74 - Regular tees, 24 holes "It's been a long time since I played @ Monroe! My good friends Nate T. and Tom L. and a group of other friends joined us and it was a fun (and hilarious!) time for sure. Several people were quite good at disc golf while others were playing for the first time ever. It definitely made for some amusing moments! :) In any case, I definitely started out pretty slow but the back nine was where I really cooked! My Star Beast and Champion Destroyer both hit some ultra smooth lines today with my Star Stingray hitting an awesome line on the downhill Hole #9. Putting was hit or miss (mostly miss) but I did manage to put in a few good ones. I parked my Destroyer on #21 and did the same on #24! "

Matthew Hull 68 - Regular tees, 24 holes "What a glorious day to be outside! It was in the upper 70's with a light breeze and sunny skies as it's finally starting to feel like late spring. I had a super hot start to this round too as I managed to make 20-30 ft. putts on Holes #1 and 4! Unfortunately, I couldn't sustain it as a few putts had unlucky results (literally hit the good spot on the chains twice and my Roach would NOT stick...so frustrating!!) but my drives today were VERY good for the most part. I should have birdied the tricky #7 (perfect Star Beast drive but the 20 ft. putt missed) and even had a decent opportunity on #10 (one of the unlucky putts). I once again had a solid finish though and I even birdied #20 again (277 ft. hole with plenty of trees in the way). Overall, it was a solid round!"

Matthew Hull 72 - Regular tees, 24 holes "What a beautiful day to play disc golf! My friend Michael S. and I went out to Monroe and had a very enjoyable round (I finished only three strokes ahead of him despite having a pretty solid round. He's getting better!) I did leave some easy-peasy putts out there (blew one of my best drives ever on #1 with a missed 12-15 ft. putt and three putted on #6 thanks to a nasty roll) but I did manage to put together some solid drives (great day for my Champion Destroyer) and I did manage to get an unreal deuce on #20 (50-60 ft. putt!) My Champion Destroyer hit superb lines on #21 and 24 as well!"

Matthew Hull 70 - Regular tees, 24 holes "What a great time! My buddy Nate T. and his brother Nick took me to Monroe Community Park after having a fun-filled time at Trader's World (flea market) earlier in the afternoon. And while I didn't have a spectacular start to the round, I sure finished on a solid note! My Sword hit some AMAZING lines today (one of my best drives ever on #7) and my putting down the stretch was wonderful! I was especially proud of my deuce on #15 too (long downhill hole with plenty of trees in the way). That's a crazy hole to get your first birdie on for sure! My Star Stingray hit a great line on the short #19 before hitting some small branch (might have even prevented the ace there)."

Matthew Hull 75 - Regular tees, 24 holes "For getting off to such a wonderful start, I sure didn't put together all that great of a round! At least I finished well I suppose. It was really nice to get out to Monroe and to enjoy several rounds of disc golf on a Saturday morning/afternoon. And boy...did I ever get some exercise today! I did manage to put together some solid Falcon Servo tosses early on and my Star Stingray continues to be a great disc for specific holes on this course. I loved the way I finished too. My Sword hit a GREAT line on #20 and my Champion Destroyer was rock-solid on #21."

Matthew Hull 73 - Regular tees, 24 holes "I was all excited about coming right back through the course and putting together a solid round in the 60's but...NO. To be fair, it was a fairly windy day but my putting was off and my accuracy was inconsistent which is never a good problem to have. I did have a wonderful Trespass drive on #10 and my Star Beast was *incredible* on #14. I hit the most awful kick with my Blue Bomber Buzzz during the first round and thankfully, my Beast parked itself very close to the basket this time around."

Matthew Hull 70 - Regular tees, 24 holes "**FINALLY!!!** After several weeks of playing at a myriad of courses, destiny finally struck on the 235 ft. Hole #16 @ Monroe Community Park! And it was my Ace King disc (my trusty pink and purple Neutron Envy) that came through with the most amazing line (went to the right of some small trees, missed hitting anything, then faded beautifully dodging yet more trees and finding chains before gracefully settling into the basket) too. Lifetime Ace #200 was a dandy and one I will be proud of for sure! My only regret is that Sandy and Ryan didn't get to see it (or take a video of it...sniff...sniff...) but Ryan was having so much fun playing with other kids on the playground that we couldn't take him away from there. So it was admittedly a somewhat bittersweet moment but still...I really am thrilled to achieve such a monumental accomplishment like that on a respectable 200+ ft. hole that I had never hit before. Sweetness! It wasn't my greatest round either but I did have a few moments...especially at the end as my Falcon Servo was superb on #23 and my Neutron Envy did just enough on #24 (wouldn't normally throw it there but today...I threw it!) It is official my friends. 200 lifetime Aces in the books! :)"

Matthew Hull 68 - Regular tees, 24 holes "It's been a long time but I finally managed to make it back out to Monroe Community Park with Michael S. and we both played very well this evening! My touch shots and especially my putting were incredible tonight! It was honestly one of the best putting rounds I have *ever* had as I made several putts from well outside the circle ("from way downtown" as Michael would say) and even my misses were good in the sense that they hit the baskets square (normally missing by hitting the dreaded bottom lip). My Champion Destroyer was great on #1 (only had to make a 15-20 ft. putt), my Star Stingray was superb on the early holes (especially on the downhill holes #5 and 9), and my Falcon Servo hit *amazing* lines on the two downhill holes that require smooth hyzer (as well as the ability to dodge trees). My Neutron Envy had an unreal tree kick on #19 to avoid OB and I nailed that putt, I had an outstanding uphill putt on #21 (somehow having just the right height and even hitting thin tree branches making its way into the basket) and one of my best drives ever on #22 (nailed that putt too). Lastly, my Star Beast hit a glorious line on the 266 ft. downward-sloping Hole #23 as it went to the right of the basket before fading and landing just deep (it was Ace-worthy...just slightly deep). Overall, it was just one of those good, clean rounds coupled with superb putting. My friend Michael had his best round ever as well (he shot a 76)."

Matthew Hull 68 - Regular tees, 24 holes "After running and hustling at Reserves Park, I'm amazed I had enough energy to put together a solid round @ Monroe with my friend Michael but I was able to come fairly close to my personal best (65) with a late charge at the end. Right away, my rainbow Champion Destroyer hit a super smooth line on #1 and I made the 15-20 ft. putt for the deuce there! My Falcon Servo hit a wonderful line on #2 and would have been parked were it not for the fact it hit the tree before you reach the basket. My Servo was awesome tonight too and I threw it a bunch! My Star Stingray once again hit a nice line on #4 (didn't turn enough to threaten for the Ace though), my Star Beast hit a superb slow hyzer line on #7, and it did the same on #8 as I had a puncher's chance at an unlikely 2 there (I missed the putt though.) I actually threw my Teebird on the long downhill Hole #9 and it landed maybe 15 ft. in front of the basket (in the weeds/grass to the right). My Falcon Servo hit a superb line on #12 (the same hole I nearly lost it on a month or two ago) while my Sword caught fire late and hit an awesome line on #20 to give me an ultra rare deuce there (maybe my first one ever on that hole!) My rainbow Champion Destroyer hit a near-perfect hyzer line on #21 and, while I didn't Ace or deuce the 266 ft. downhill Hole #23, my Sword hit an unreal straight line to the right of the basket and landed some 40-50 ft. beyond it! Several guys playing on #24 were even amazed at my distance there! My Falcon Servo hit a wonderful line on #24 landing 12-15 ft. to the left of the basket. Overall, I was very happy with my round tonight! Michael had a rough round for sure but it was still a good time together."

Matthew Hull 72 - Regular tees, 24 holes "What a fun way to start off the four day weekend! After taking a late afternoon nap, I drove out to Monroe and played an enjoyable round with my friend Michael! The grass and tee-pads were a bit slick due to rainstorms that came by earlier in the day but otherwise, it was a blast! I started a little slow but my Falcon Servo got me going with a smooth hyzer toss on Hole #3. Then, I came within INCHES of acing Hole #4! My Star Stingray hit a nearly identical line to my Reko Ace there from last year but it dipped late hitting the bottom lip of the basket. SO CLOSE!! Other highlights included a smooth Trespass drive on #10 (missed the 25-30 ft. putt though), another smooth drive on #11 with my Mayhem, and a solid Trespass drive on #13 (missed the 20 ft. putt there though...sigh). I played well late though with a wonky but workable Cottonwood Buzzz drive on #19, one of my finest Mayhem drives ever on #22 (hit the hyzer line and landed a mere 20 ft. to the right of the basket), and a good enough Trespass drive on #23 (too much turn to threaten an Ace). Unfortunately, my Falcon Servo drive on #24 was short and faded too much but overall, it was a nice finish to the round!"

Matthew Hull 68 - Regular tees, 24 holes "I had a dentist appointment this evening and, rather than enjoy some leisurely disc golf @ Reserves Park, I went up to Monroe tonight! For the most part, it was a wonderful time (and round!) too. It was appx. 80-85 degrees with a light wind and a ton of people were at the park for softball and swinging and such. I started out playing solo and felt very good about my throws! My rainbow Champion Destroyer hit a fantastic line on #2 and I would wind up tossing that disc a lot tonight! My Comet drive on the downhill #5 felt good but geez...it ended up deep in the bush to the right! My Trespass hit a wonderful line on #10 (missed the 15-20 ft. putt though). Where things got really wacky was on Hole #12 though. I tried to squeeze my Falcon Servo through a fairly small line on the left side of the trees (multiple trees are right in the middle of this hole) but it ricocheted to the left and I could NOT find it. Three young guys caught up with me and the graciously looked with me for like 30 minutes! Eventually and by God's grace, I found my beloved Falcon Servo literally under two logs. It was BURIED but I found it! I joined the Good Samaritans for the remainder of the round and we had a great time! I was SO happy and relieved to have my Falcon Servo back and my throws reflected that relief. My Trespass drive on #13 was awesome, my orange Champion Destroyer hit a wonderful line on #13 (missed another easy putt though), and I hit some superb hyzer lines on the downhill holes. My Trespass and Blue Bomber Buzzz got me an easy 3 on the super hard #17, I made a really nice 15 ft. sidearm putt on #19 (after a good Evidence drive), and my rainbow Champion Destroyer hit an awesome line on #21! My Trespass hit a sweet line on #23 (landed 20 ft. to the left of the basket...I made the Roach putt!) too. The round almost ended in perfect fashion too. I broke out my Falcon Servo for the first time since almost losing it and it hit the most wonderful line to the right of the basket, slowly faded, and landed a mere 1-2 ft. short of the basket. It was SO close to finding what would have been a heck of an Ace! Still, it felt great and winded up being a fun round with some fun guys from Fairfield. I hope to meet up with them @ Harbin Park one of these days!"
