Course reviews

I was involved in the clearing and design of this course although the course I was helping to design was never put in. Originally, there were 5 holes designed to go around the wetland (starting at the playground and working clockwise around the wetland) and the land where there is now 18 holes was to hold 13 holes. It would have been a fun course to play with enough challenge to get good players to want to play it. At the final hour ie when the cement trucks rolled up, the City of Ann Arbo ...

MBD is a nice little pitch and putt. Experienced golfers can easily play the short tee layout with just a putter and can probably do the same from the long tees. It's a fully decent course for beginners.

Mary Beth is a good beginner/practice/bring your girlfriend course. The course is overall pretty short but it does make pretty good use of what little elevation there is and there are some decent wooded holes. Some holes are pretty close together and it can get crazy with a lot of traffic. Enjoyable course overall

Short course with birdie and ace runs on many holes. Great beginner course. Layout leaves a bit to be desired, as there are multiple times that you are walking in the direct flight path on a hole's fairway. Fun to play and its still disc golf!

Fun little short course... get some quick rounds in after work since its right around corner... kinda dangerous since a lot of holes cross but nice to post up some easy low scores

Short holes compressed together. The course can be a little dangerous since a number of foot paths cross fairways and the tight layout can send errant throws into other fairways and putting areas. The course's shule is unnecessarily thick and I will spend more time looking for discs in bushes and grass than actually playing disc golf. Many people lose discs. All that being said, I keep going back as I am still a novice and as long as I don't lose a disc it plays quickly and most holes are fun and aceable.

Great short course, really helps player to work on the short game. Course was a little confusing to navigate, but overall this is a perfect weeknight practice course.

This is now one of my home course after moving in to Ann Arbor. The fact that they squeeze holes in here shows and is my only real complaint. Great course for beginners and anyone wanting to slam an ace. Hit one already in less then a year playing here. Some unique holes nothing real huge though shot wise. I had more chain outs here than any other course. Good park Togo if you have kids or love to walk nice and clean people out here are friendly. Bummer to read that they had problems during the install process. Good job anyways guys it's still a good little course. C U soon Browns! Thanks!

First things first, hike from the NE corner lot next to the church. Only takes about 10 minutes and it adds a nice dimension to the experience. :) On to the disc review...
This is a park that was slated for a smaller course around the lake/pond. It would seem the land that it was going to be on would be wet most of the year, and therefore the decision to put it on the hillside and around the path makes sense. Overall the course as an 18 is very fun, fairly casual, and to be honest a bit dange ...

Very short and open first three holes, good ace opportunities, but more distance and variety later with some longer par 3s.

Blind tee shots are not my cup of tea. I really like all the tees, it makes the course very versitile. Never thought I'd say, damn you wildlife!, lol. Have fun on this challenging fun course set inside a townhouse subdivision.

It is what it is. It's a short narrow course, that really works well for beginners trying to get a feel for the game. However, I warn you, I find that it eats disc's. I find a bunch (and of course return the ones I can ) while on my walks looking for mine. For a bit more experienced player, it's a great putter work out. Enjoy!

First few holes are a very simple and short. Middle wooded holes were short, but not so bad.

trash needs to be picked up and can emptied. A nice confidence booster course!. Not long, chance to use a variety of shots.

Nice neighborhood Hero course. Not a whole lot of challenge as my -4 score indicates for my first round there. After playing a few more rounds and learning the lines better, a -8 or 9 would be doable for me. Makes you feel like a "Pro"!

On the short side, and tight, easy to throw into other fairways and hit eachother. but nice set up through the woods.

Still my favorite of the handful that I have played. Relatively short, but requires well placed shots. Great for a beginner like myself.

nothing notable about this course although i understand when it was called brown park it was a much better course?? fun short and easy though

Wet, almost flooding....but it is winter and a solid course

Very short but the basket placement on some shots is challenging. Overall it a very quick round.

Course, is great especially for re-learning to control distance after you've worked to put so much on. Muddy when wet!!!

A really fun glow course. Can be muddy and watch out for deer in the fall they were a little aggressive! People also say the layout isn't the greatest, i never knew the old brown park though.

Short Tees played 18 fast weather was great, will play again soon!

this is a good coarse for mid-range shots and maybe fairway drivers. It is a quick coarse if your going alone but have to keep track of your disc if it goes to the trees or in wide open ranges.

A nice pitch-n-putt type DG course with cement pads, 18 regulation baskets and even a few Long tees thrown in. Great course to work on your short game or even toss a few 1-2 disc rounds. Decent course flow with a mix of wide open shots and some wooded tunnel shots. Ideal park for a GLOW round at night. Could use some trash cans and a larger parking lot, but solid course none the less.

Not very well taken care of, holes are too short. Although they are challenging
+0 votes Alex Rolfes › July 13, 2013
Enjoyable, and pretty easy. Nice for beginners, with a couple of more challenging lines through the woods. Especially on hole 7.

Like the course.Technical holes.Ace potential on every drive.Groomed very nicely

First time playing, pretty solid course, but the first few holes are set up silly and they were putter holes.
+0 votes Chad klavinger › September 18, 2014
Course is kept up pretty well good mix of open and wooded shots sucks horribly on a windy day

This course plays very fun and quick! Zero Time and I played this course today on our way home from DGLO. Awesome visits today with Paige Pierce and Brodie Smith. Great to get signed discs from them both.
+0 votes Foster Hayes › September 5, 2019
Great for my putter only rounds. Short holes where you need to be intentional with the lines you throw. Easy to bring beginners to.
+0 votes Denny Kapp › July 15, 2019
Overall disappointed given reviews I had seen. Wooded area is way overgrown and the sidewalks are quite busy alongside a number of the holes. Not relaxing nor well kept up. Did like the elevation shots. That's about it. If you're in the area, just go to Bandemer.
+0 votes Elliot McConnell › July 17, 2019
Nice course! A little short and can be a little wet. Nice for a putter and/or midrange round.
+0 votes Jacob D Roberson › June 1, 2021
Course is in mostly good condition, except for a few blemishes. Some wooded holes are overgrown with weeds, and the long tee pad for hole #7 appears to be missing. Long tees offer a lot of tight fairways, although most of them aren't that much longer than the short tees.

Mob Golf Talking Trash, Dirty Dollaz. Glow. Ace Races. Quick rounds after work. Beers with buddies. STALL shots. The return of a home course.
Abomination? definitely not. Brown Park? Oh yes. Welcome back old friend.
Who will design the gold layout??

I wish Terry's original design would have been implemented. Some decent holes scattered throughout. Woods holes are garbage. Speaking of garbage, it's all over the course, as the city of A2 doesn't provide trash cans. BROWN PARK!!!!!!
-1 votes Matt Weiler › July 13, 2012
Course is shit!! no garbage cans anywhere and there is trash all over the place. Park is never kept up and today i found a bums cardboard house. Course is pretty easy but its a disgrace to look at. No park maintenance whatsoever. Cant ann arbor parks and recreation clean this up a bit and make it a decent course?

Everyone hates on this course which is great stay away. I like it it's fun and good for a quick 18. Sorry it's not 2008 anymore get over it.

adjacent to a newly dug sewage pond sandwiched in between impoverished hikone and mill creek developments, on the unkept outskirts of industrial ann arbor, this newly reopened course no longer appears to be as welcoming as it once was.

MBDP is nothing like it used to be and not to happy that they changed it. this course is not challenging and lot of the holes are way to close together tees next to baskets. feel free to put it back at any time.
