John Fortunato 75 - Long tees, 18 holes "Visited while on vacation. Course layout was confusing because they were setting up for a tournament with changes to the baskets. Played with Benji (82) who kind of knew where we should go. Front 9 was through the woods and back 9 was (mostly) in the open with some LONG holes."Sunday, September 19, 2021

Jon Tveite 70 - Long tees, 18 holes "After dropping off Lynn at the airport, I played a morning round at Kessler. It did NOT go well. It didn't help that all but one of the baskets were in their deepest or second-deepest position, but mainly it was me being incredibly wild on a very tight first nine (I think I was trying to throw too hard again). I wasn't even hitting the trees in the fairways, because I didn't make it to the fairways on a lot of holes. I also missed 3-4 putts I really should have made. I was throwing better on the back nine. I still hate #12 -- even more so now, after a great toss off the tee ended up right under a bush in the middle of the fairway. And I should have made birdie on 14, the only hole in the shortest position. But four of the holes on the back (#s 13, 16, 17, & 18) were so long I couldn't get to putting range in two good shots. I still really like this course, but I just wasn't up to the task on this particular Sunday morning."Friday, February 28, 2014

Kevin Zane 52 - Long tees, 18 holes "Spit out putt on 1 (right in the middle of the heart of the chains, lol)... Just got a little too greedy on 11 and made a bad decision."Tuesday, August 20, 2013

Jon Tveite 60 - Long tees, 18 holes "Had some free time in KC so I thought I'd give Cliff Drive another try. Not many golfers were out; in fact, the whole park was largely deserted. I started out very erratically, with three bogeys and three birdies on the first seven holes. The most surprising was on #5, where I made a putt from about halfway down the stairs (could only see the top of the basket). #8 hurt, with two tree-hampered shots and a bad approach leading to a double bogey. #11 hurt more, as I managed to throw my trusty blue Katana into the reservoir (where I looked later but never found it) and took another five. After that, I negotiated the long open holes pretty well, especially #18 where my long (260'+) approach ended up less than 5' away."+4
Jon Tveite 58 - Long tees, 18 holes "Decided to play a second round, and regretted it at times, though I ended well. I could only manage one birdie (a drop-in on #13), but avoided double bogeys this time. The frustration really started with a short birdie putt missed on #7, and continued with another lost disc (an old, old Roadrunner I really liked), this time on #8. I played it like OB and made a long putt to save bogey. Then I missed a very make-able putt for par on #11. On the treacherously narrow #12, my flick went over the edge into the trees and wound up 30-40' below the fairway on a 60-degree slope that was full of thorny bushes and actual trash--but I made a bogey, at least. #14 was a pointless bogey brought on by a terrible first putt. #15 featured another good drive and another missed putt for birdie. After that I played the long last three holes well, making three pars and ending with a 58 that really should have been closer to even."Saturday, September 15, 2012

Joshua Oothoudt 54 - Long tees, 18 holes "I wish I could've thrown an even round at Cliff Dr, but I did it as a partner. Jim Muzic and I threw against Steve and Ellis. It was a good round, with good people."Monday, July 2, 2012

Joshua Oothoudt 61 - Long tees, 18 holes "Holy shit, I beat Steve Dresser. I don't say this much, so I have to pat myself on the back. Took him out by 5 strokes. Might be the last time I throw with him for a while though. Sad"
