Matthew Hull 17 - Normal Tees , 6 holes "I managed to get up pretty early this morning after the exciting festivities of my sister's wedding the day before and what better way to continue celebrating than to play some disc golf? Sigh...we disc golfers have a real sickness don't we? Ha, ha! ;) In any case, I had a wonderful time today and I played many, many rounds. Granted, I was a little off overall (I got fade on virtually everything I threw which is unusual for me and my putting was atrocious which isn't all that unusual...lol.) but I still had a real desire to play in pursuit of my June ace. It was only the fifth of June but whenever you are travelling and you have opportunities, you have to go for them, right? Well, I went for it big-time!"-3
Matthew Hull 15 - Normal Tees , 6 holes "Other than royally screwing up on Hole #4, this was easily my best round of the day! My Star Teebird hit a glorious line on #1, my Neutron Envy was solid on #3, and my Envy on #5 and my Star Beast on #6 were superb!"-2
Matthew Hull 16 - Normal Tees , 6 holes "It was around this time that I noticed my black Aviar Flying Pig disc was hitting some really nice lines! I generally go with my Neutron Envy, Megasoft Shield, and Glo Roach as my putters but I have been working on throwing my Aviar tournament disc and I really like the smooth lines this disc hits. That and it seems to handle the wind MUCH better than my beloved Roach. In any case, my Aviar hit an amazingly good line on #5. On a day where I didn't have my best stuff, my Aviar seemed to be the hot disc (Envy had its moments but also faded much more than normal.)"E
Matthew Hull 18 - Normal Tees , 6 holes "Ugh...I was on a real par streak around this time. Could be fatigue from everything and/or I just didn't have my best stuff."-1
Matthew Hull 17 - Normal Tees , 6 holes "YESSSSSSSSSS!!! :) On a day when I absolutely did NOT have my best stuff, it's fitting that an unlikely disc snagged my first ever Colorado Ace! My Flying Pig Aviar hit a incredibly lucky line on Hole #3 (the luck part being due to the disc glancing off of a tree branch just to the left of the second tree on the right side of the fairway) which redirected the disc just enough for it to hit the perfect line and find the ace! This disc had hit some smooth lines on this hole earlier but it had faded too soon. I tried to adjust and apparently, I just needed a slightly later release and a tree branch to help me out! I was REALLY concerned about this month because I honestly have no idea when I will be playing disc golf due to our travels and what not. So this one is a huge relief because I've got it! I am so very happy and naturally, I am dedicating this one to my sister whose wedding we celebrated yesterday. Happy times and the streak has now been pushed to 53 straight months! Just two away from my ultimate goal. I can do this! :)"-3
Matthew Hull 15 - Normal Tees , 6 holes "Despite being quite tired/satisfied by this point, I just had to play one more round because, even though I snagged a glorious ace on Hole #3 the round before, I surrounded my ace round with a garbage performance to put it mildly. So I played one more "encore" round and thankfully, I found the will to finish on a real positive note! My Star Beast was sensational on #2 while my Flying Pig Aviar (the disc of the hour) hit another superb line on #3 along with a good enough line on #5 for me to bag a birdie there. It's only a six hole course for sure but 8 rounds?! My shoulder is ready for a break! ;) It's on to Utah next (unless I play tomorrow morning of course) where I snagged my first two aces! Matthew Hull 16 - Normal Tees , 6 holes "Today was the big day! My sister's wedding (which was beautiful and an incredibly memorable experience to say the least) was in the afternoon and I really enjoyed getting outside early in the morning and getting to enjoy one of the local disc golf courses. It was a gorgeous day (similar to in Hays, KS with it being in the 70's with a light breeze) and I had a great time despite this course being a mere six holes in length. My Star Beast hit some wonderful lines (particularly on Hole #2) and I was salivating over a couple of holes (notably #3 and 5) being juicy ace opportunities. My Star Stingray came incredibly close multiple times on #3 (hit the bottom lip of the basket!) but alas...it wasn't meant to be. I loved my tosses on #6 today too (a nearly 300 ft. hole). Both my Star Beast and Champion Destroyer was super consistent."Tuesday, July 14, 2015
