Matthew Hull 70 - Short layout, 18 holes "It's been a while since I played what I consider a top-tier challenging course and The Fort is easily one of those! I was so impressed with the layout and the wide variety present here though. Shaun (the gentleman I met at Riverpark the other day) highly recommended this course so I played it and...I survived! Due to the water hazards present throughout the course, I relied heavily on my rarely used light blue Star Destroyer along with my green Star Teebird due to their consistency/predictability and the fact that...I couldn't bare to lose any other discs in my bag. I definitely could have used more "throwaway" discs. In any case, my Star Destroyer was awesome today and I was starting to really find a groove with that driver! The Fort requires you to really be on in terms of accuracy and it just hit smooth line after line after line today! Granted, I had some stinker holes early on (darn near lost my Star Teebird on my very first throw of the morning on Hole #1!) but I managed to find a real groove despite my allergies/fatigue really hitting me about halfway through. The hole of the day might have been #14 as I put together two amazing Star Destroyer drives, a solid Star Teebird upshot (literally threw an odd toss between two trees right in front of me without banging my hand on the trees...quite the accomplishment given my lie), and an awesome 80 ft. Roach putt! I broke out my Neutron Envy once (I HAD to use my ace king disc here, right?) and it hit a wonderful line to net me an easy putt (#10 I believe). My only regret was that on Hole #17, I lost my Star Destroyer due to my not throwing it with enough zip. :( It simply faded too soon and went splash in the drink. I almost hit a good line but alas...I lost a disc that honestly carried me today and I was just starting to feel good about. I did manage to salvage a 4 on that hole but dang... Anyway, it was fun and I was proud of my play overall. What a course!"
