So for those of you who may not be aware or don't know the details. A3 has been running a winter series of tournaments.
8 events at 8 different courses. event 5 at willow was yesterday. Event 6 is at cass on the 27th, Event 7 is at Kensington and the final event at Hudson mills.

So for those of you who may not be aware or don't know the details. A3 has been running a winter series of tournaments.

The Corrigan Propane Winter Warmer Series has 8 events with a final 9 for the top 4 players in every division. CTP's at every tournament. We have been paying 130% to AM's and adding some cash for the PRO's as well. Each event is $25, the AM’s get a player pack, optional $1 ace pool which if no aces are hit carries to the next event and there have not been any aces so far. You must buy into the series to get into the finals and you must play in a minimum of 3 events to qualify for the finals. Buy in is 2 new or slightly used discs Z or Champion plastic or better, no grooves; discs are accepted at the TD’s discretion, discs cannot be written on, or $18 and we will put 2 discs in for you.
The most important thing to be aware of is that the finals at Hudson mills the players who make the final 9 will share in $600 in cash or merchandise which came from the sponsors money, corrigan propane. the AM1, AM2, PRO, Am Master divisions are very lightly attended and leave open the possibilitys that a person could play in the final 3 events and still get into the final 9. AM3 and AM4 are both busy with 6 or so players in the series.
the cash or merch will be divided by number of players in the series in each division. You must attend the finals to get a share of the payouts points only help you get a spot in the finals.
7 Pro’s with the maximum pts of 12
6 AM1’s with the maximum pts of 11
1 AM2 with pts of 12
10 AM3’s with the maximum pts of 48
6 AM4’s with the maximum pts of 35.5
1 AM Master with 4 pts

Mitch- most of us "serious" golfers started out as the casuals you so vehemnetly protect. Just like Dan said, none of us got where we are now by chance. But think of it in a different context...I'm sure there's a professional sports team or 2 you follow right? Would you say that the people playing pick up games have just as much right to playing on the same field as them?

But think of it in a different context...I'm sure there's a professional sports team or 2 you follow right? Would you say that the people playing pick up games have just as much right to playing on the same field as them?

Granted we can't build courses for both parties to use. But the thought process is there. You wouldn't think the average Joe would be able to do the same things as the pro team. But is the professional team ruining the sport? Not at all. Now let's say the pro team says sure why not, use our field. And the ref guys come in, tear up the grass, destroy club houses or lockerrooms, graffiti every flat surface and basically treat the place that the pro team calls home and loves...would you be ok with that?

All we serious golfers ask of casuals is primarily one thing. Respect. Respect the course, nature, other people, and other people's property. Its people like you that have the elitist attitude actually. Thinking that BC you aren't an asshole pets guy makes you beret than any of us is just as bad. Granted, I've goofed with some guys who look down on casuals and that's just as wrong but they are few and far between. But when I have to ask someone not to draw on a picnic table, and retrieve a disc with my name and # on it WHILE IM STILL ON THE COURSE (just happened to leave it a few hole back), then that's where we serious golfers are coming from. We are more than welcome to let casuals like yourself play YOUR game, let us play OURS. But don't be surprised if ee call you out for hurting our sport. Bc that's what it is. Its a sport.

Let me ask you this...how many discs have you found? Returned? Attempted to return? How many ppl have you let play through? And how big is your group usually going out? Answer these questions and we can see who might be ruining our sport...

Not all casuals are disrespectfully assholes, just like not all avid golfers are not respectable people. The majority of all golfers (casual or avid) are good people. I don't want to be lumped into a group with the few disrespectfully avid players, nor should all casuals be lumped with the few disrespectfully casuals.

So if the majority of us can respect each other,the game and the course.

All will be good!

Seriously guys... Everyone has a right to play! Let's just get along and keep an eye out for other peoples disc. Quit calling names, pointing fingers, or stereotyping those who may not be as dedicated as yourself. The "fight" comment is taken out of context! If you don't like the crowd at a certain course, don't play it. I didn't mean any offense towards one side or the other just stating my opinion. This is the United States and we can all practice our freedom of speech. Have fun, throw true and be the bigger person...

It was so stupid that I felt compelled to respond to you, hence my message.

2. "Serious" golf(ers) vs "non serious" golf(ers) (your words by the way). We are ALL discing to accomplish one thing -to have fun. I think that may be the one thing we see eye to eye on, but I dont even know about that. The difference in your own eyes between serious and non serious golfers is that we think we own the park? How bout the majority of us dont want people like you treating the courses we play on like the degenerates have at cass. We dont promote you drawing Penises on every table and garbage can, we dont condone destruction of equipment, we dont litter, we dont act like kindergartners in grown mens bodies. We definetly dont steal peoples shit either. And it has obviously bothered you that other people feel the same way, otherwise you wouldnt have made such a dumb post. Oh wait, I forgot to mention that Im sure you think its ok to golf in a group of 15 and not let the 2some behind you pass. I know, that makes me such an ass, why would someone show some common courtesy? Sorry to ruin your hobby- jackass.

3. Where do you think the roots of all disc golfers start at? Do you think we all picked up a disc and started throwing 500ft? We all started out as awful players, and many of us still are awful. The point is that most of us end up respecting the game, respecting nature, and most of all respecting other people. Something that the people have neglected to do at cass for years, hence its current condition.

And last... I will throw farther than you left handed with a fucking mini. Mini's are things we use to spot our discs fyi. They are smaller versions of the actual disc. Check one out one day... Im done explaining myself to you.

I both agree and disagree with Mitch. Often times when I find myself behind people who I know play AM 1 or Pro they won't even consider asking if my friend and I can play through. I assume they just think we're some Cassholes when we're not.

Conversely, I know these guys won't steal my disc and I've gotten calls from discs I've left behind. Whereas I've seen regular "cassholes" just up and take my disc from the fairway like they found something no ... more

And obviously the cassholes are the ones destroying the park: taking the signs, putting graffiti on EVERYTHING, or rolling the trash cans down the hill.

Either way everyone should respect each other, pro or casual, and the experience will be far better.

normally I would tend to agree with you Mitchell, however, there are disc golfers & then are Cass-Holes. Cass is known for fairway robberies, free range pit bulls, fist fights, knife fights, storm troopers, and what ever kind of shenanigans you can think of. There aren't any stoners at Cass, just Cass-Holes and the rest of us wearing Kevlar just to get through the round

I guess the point of it all is if you love playing Cass and see how you shoot ratings wise in actual tournament play come to the event. We will be shooting both longs and shorts so you will have a rating from both pads!

When the city of Northville gets smart and starts sending in plain clothes officers and sees cash being exchanged in the park they will do one of a few things. 1.) Issue fines, 2.) When the city of Northville gets smart and starts sending in plain clothes officers and sees cash being exchanged in the park they will do one of a few things. 1.) Issue fines, 2.) Remove the course sighting abuse. now we all know that the park district hasn't kept the course in that great of shape over the years. But since that is there policy we will follow it! If the local league chooses not to, well then any repercussions that may happen would be on them not us!

Last year like this year we will have it closed to casual play (Again per negotiations with the park district), so if people casually enter the course you can let them know that the event is going on and request them to leave. If they stop playing but remain on the course they become a spectator and there is nothing we can do about that. If they continue playing we can have them removed.
