Another local family has done a fantastic job of making a hillside course play so well. Great mix of very short, tight technical holes to two 400+ foot holes that are still pretty tight. Excellent concrete tee-pads, cleared fairways and Blue Bentley Baskets throughout. Its first Winter may cause some mud issues but in a year or two when the course has longer holes and the grass grown into the fairways, it will become a Westside Gem. Between Hornings and Stubb Stewart, just off Hiway 26, make sur ...

Enjoyed the course! Pretty short and technical, but totally enjoyable. Needs a little more clearing and clean-up. I'm looking forward to playing it again soon.

Buxton Woods is a very fun course to play! A great selection of long and short holes, technical and open shots, ace runs and tough pars. They have top notch tee pads and sweet electric blue Bentley baskets. I always have a fun time out there. And the owners are some of the friendliest and most genuinely interested people you will meet at a private course. They work really hard to keep the course maintained and it is only getting better and better.

Pretty great course for just opening. It will get so much better with time, and when they add another 9 holes in the spring. All types of different shots and layouts from hole to hole. Great course. I just wish it was closer...

Perfect for getting out of town , we took our time going through, you can easily get through a few rounds or take your time, so many beautiful spots to take a break and enjoy the scenery. I like the up and down and and tight shots here and there it's a good mix. I have also heard they are going to add a back nine, and make some holes longer. I liked the lay out and they have maps and score cards too.

Went to Buxton on a cold and rainy day for an unsanctioned event this weekend. I started feeling incredibly sick and was barely able to finish my first round. Not wanting to ruin the day for the others with me, and being in no condition to keep playing, I thought I was in for a really long afternoon. Not so! The awesome crew at Buxton ushered me into a warm living room and literally treated me like one of their own. I will be back again soon and often. If you want a glimpse of what truly makes d ...

Nice hillside course on private property. It is pay to play, but well worth it.

Plenty of challenge as well as reward to be found. Beautiful landscape, great variation in distance, elevation, dogleg left and right, blind holes and tunnel shots.
Grounds are maintained, good signage to follow to next tee.
Need signs for each hole layout, it would help on the blind shots.
Muddy and slick in areas when wet.

I Love it!!! This Course has it all... Short, Medium, and Long shots. Great for BackHand and ForeHand Players. Awesome Tee's and Baskets. I will be Back and look for an addition 9 for a total of 27 Hole's to come :)

Buxton Woods is a great course!!! This course has a little of everything including, Left, right, up, and down. Also has tight fairways as well as open 400+ ft. holes. Each hole has benches and trash cans at the tee. Tee's have big concrete pads. The baskets are Bentley baskets. Also, Buxton has a "pro shop" that sells snacks/discs. The only thing that this course in missing are Tee signs with map and length. There are tee signs with hole #'s only and are easy to follow. make sure when you play B ...

Awesome course. New placements on 1 2 6 7 are cool. Fairways still pretty nice after a week of rain.

I had a lot of fun playing this course. The owners did a great job with putting this course together. Nice big concrete pads picnic tables, trash cans and brooms at every hole. They cleared all the fairways very well. I hope they have plans to maybe make the holes longer witch was the only downfall that I had was to many short holes but get potential to make them longer. I will be out to play this course again especially on my way to stewart stubb.

This is a beautiful course with nice big tee pads, 18 bentley baskets, and all the beauty Oregon can offer.........straight on to my top 10 list.

Great little hidden gem. Owner says he plans on adding 9 more holes and lengthening the holes which will eventually rival the great courses in the portland area.

Everything that you would want in a course, perfectly manicured, very unique holes, big teepads, Bentley baskets, hospitable course owners, and walkout signage. Thanks for a great first experience :)

Great T-pads, awesome location, and great baskets. Loved that there was a picnic table on almost every hole. Beautiful course and the owners are really friendly! Perfect price for the outing.

Great place and course! The Owners are super friendly, we were playing our Wednesday bag tags here on a cold winter morning, they had the warming fire going for us. This course is well worth the three dollars. Pros, Bently baskets, concrete tee pads, with a broom at every pad. There is at least a bench at every tee, if not a picnic bench. Great mix of holes, from short and narrow to open and long. I'm not going to put my thoughts on improvements, the owners are passionate about the sport and are ...

This course has everything in terms of variety of shots and terrain. Well thought out in regard to hole design. Cannot wait to play it again.

clean fairways, great pads, great buckets, a bench and trashcan at every hole. Very manicured course. RHBH dominant layout with park-able distances. It was rainy which caused a HUGE mud slip hazard (victim). but it was graveled almost seconds after my discovery. Friendly owners/keepers. Technical, woodsy, and visually pleasing, the way I like it. slightly repetitive backhand routes available but that is a mute point for a bad ass private course that is nestled nicely near Stubbs.

This is my revised review. Absolutely awesome course. only a few changes and my course rating will go up.
pros:
great tee pads
great new baskets
scenery
technical shots
benches at most holes
Update: benches at all holes
Practice baskets
Alternate tee locations
Lots of bark chips in place to keep down mud
Cons: I think they looked at the cons that I mentioned before( muddy, tee signs)
So I say no cons

Amazing course, with great Bentley baskets. Lots of chances at ace runs, with holes to air it out as well. Good course for backhand or forehand players alike. Great signage, and tee pads. Also had brooms, trash cans, and benches at almost every hole. This is a destination course and a must if you're in the area. Can get a little muddy, but all in all I will for sure make a trip back.

Absolutely worth the $3 greens fee. Would love to play a sanctioned tournament up there.

Buxton is a must play! Course is heavily wooded and wraps around owners property. Short and Long pins for each hole that make the course play drastically different. Very friendly and approachable owners with a small pro shop! Always extremely clean and well maintained.

Great owners and an awesome course. Easily my favorite DGC.
There is a really fun bagtag league every Sunday.
Get out and play it. New pin postions on 2 and 18 makes it alot more challenging

This course has one of the best layouts I've played. A very good mix of short and technical with long power shots and a few ace run holes thrown in. Tee signs are nonexistent but you will never get lost as there lots of arrows pointing you in the right direction. The downside is this course can be very wet with puddles and muddy if it has been raining. Overall very fun.

Fun short course. If they keep adding long positions it could grow into something even better.

Out of all the courses that I've played, I would choose Buxton Woods over all others as my favorite course. The course is easy enough for beginners to not get discouraged, yet technical enough that it challenges the best of players. The greatest asset to the course is the awesome staff/owners of this very family friendly place to spend the day, or even the night on Friday's. They want player feedback, and they are dedicated to course improvements at all times. Hands down this course is the one to check out if you are in the area.

great course, usually play Orchard ...not anymore I am hooked on Buxton. Too bad it isn't on my way home from work..like Orchard is. So far 4 rounds, about even par, getting use to course.

This course is by FAR the best catered to players. With benches, trashcan and push broom on every hole it made a huge difference. Nice shady areas to hangout on the tee also. The course itself had a great mix of long and short holes with technicality. The land owners are really cool and laid back happy to see golfers out there having a good time. I would recommend coming out here and spending the day on the course. I'd gladly pay the $3 fee, hell i would've paid $10. Thanks for all the hard work on the course!

From the course to the extras (picnic tables, trash cans, paths, pads, etc) this course has it all. Challenging for most skill levels and forces you to throw different angles and distances.

This course is so much fun to play! Super challenging holes throughout pushed me to get creative. This was frustrating at first, but by hole 7 I was loving the need to push my playing style and looking forward to some creative problem solving on the other holes. The course was a little difficult to follow at times, but generally really well marked as to how to get to the next tee. It was also REALLY well maintained. There are brooms at each tee pad, and they were all immaculate. Looking forward to coming back and testing myself again soon.

Gravel road last mile in so be prepared for that. Great atmosphere for disc golf. First course Ive seen with a pro shop!
Big Tee pads with brooms tables, and cans. Would like to see some baskets out of the thick of trees, or a way to navigate them better. Signs at Tees like Horning's with hole mapped out and way to next tee would be good. Hole 14 needs work, but overall a good experience and a promising course.
