Still in the early stages. A lot of thought was put in the design. Basket placements in the woods are not in the typical positions. Strategy is required on every tee shot. Tricky and creative shots required through the sneaky lines. Open to wooded and wooded to open shots with challenging angles. A few field bomber holes. Some elevation and thick rough. More mowing and expanding fairways needed during the summer months. No water hazards noticed. The course may hold water in the spring. Gravel parking lot, no gate. Overall, a creative and solid course that still needs some cleanup but very fun to play. Thanks Jeff and crew for the time and commitment required for this nice course!

The positives: good baskets, tee signs, tee pads, and some cool holes at Buell. The back-to-back pars 4s (16, 17) are challenging, fair holes. There is a good mix of wooded, open, and open to wooded holes. Great warm-up, practice area next to the RC plane area. The negatives: terrain is pretty rough in some areas, I would say the course is NOT cart friendly on at least half of the holes. The negatives: terrain is pretty rough in some areas, I would say the course is NOT cart friendly on at least half of the holes. Holes 2 and 5 are short, but I guess I'm not good enough to make a disc fly the way they need to on the fairway of these two (I was lucky on a poke and hope inside line on hole 5). Some of the other wooded holes have lines which are too luck reliant for my taste.

My personal 225th course played. In spite of my negatives, I'd play it again.

NOT a fan. This course is about half in swampy wooded land and half out in a giant meadow with 8" wide mowed fairways across it. Not a fan of that. Most holes are not feesable to get inside the circle for normal am3 type players. Without a big forehand flex shot so your just playing for par. On the 186" hole I threw a top 2% shot to only get to 45'. NOT a fan. This course is about half in swampy wooded land and half out in a giant meadow with 8" wide mowed fairways across it. Not a fan of that. Most holes are not feesable to get inside the circle for normal am3 type players. Without a big forehand flex shot so your just playing for par. On the 186" hole I threw a top 2% shot to only get to 45'. You get the idea, nothing fits the eye.They carved the wooded part out all Texas chainsaw massecre with some sort of machine and there is bookoo loads of debris, carts are not recommended. My rating is for once the course is done, work is ongoing, but what a mess. Its gonna take a long time or a ton of work to clean up the mess from the machine. 3 of the holes are down by the lake IN!!! the swamp. They cut out that big swamp grass for the greens. If lake water levels go back up it will be standing water all year, each spring is about a certainty, and i was in 2" standing water with 4" of muck, 8' from the basket today in a swamp.. Plus some of the baskets will likely be standing water in the swampy woods esp. in the spring. Not a fan! Great baskets, the upcoming teepads sound great, and cant get a better mix of wooded and open fairways though. Course might be a D- rating in a wet spring. Bring bug spray.
