Fun course, 90% in the woods. Two non-wooded tee shots are RHBH hyzer throws over the edge of the lake. Challenging course, where -5 from long tees is 1000 rated. Giving it a B+ because it lacks any truly long, open holes. But it's still definitely worth adding to your course collection.

Tall grass. Poor signage. Algae covered ponds. Disappointingly mediocre.

This is wooded course that requires a variety of well placed shots in order to shoot well. There are a few holes that require adjustment for elevation change and several water holes that require players to calculate risk when making their shot selection. The holes surrounding the lake are often compromised from heavy rain and unable to be played, which is unfortunate. There are only a handful of par 4s and 0 par 5s, resulting in fairly clustered scores. This course is beautiful, but slightly overrated, as the signature water holes are often unplayable after rain.

Fantastic course. Great mix with mostly wooded holes but still having some places you can actually throw hard driver shots. Lots of tight lines with relatively unforgiving rough, but basically all fair results off the tee. Water in play on 4 holes, with bail out routes for ams on all but one. Great course makes you make choices and commit.

I see why this course is #1 in North Carolina. The entire course sits inside a beautiful forest of mature trees. Most of the under growth has been cleared making for a fun experience. The course is easy to navigate and each hole has signage. 4 holes are designed on the edge of Harris Lake with two of them needing to hit a gap first. So, accuracy is greatly needed. The holes were designed fairly giving you adequate gaps on most holes with the exception of hole 8, a short diabolical hole with ...

Awesome course with plenty of challenging lines and layouts! The only reason that it avoids a full A rating is because of conditions immediately following any significant rain. Flooding at this course is a very large issue after any significant rainfall, so be careful!

The best course I've played in NC, and that includes Castle Hayne and Hornet's Nest. Well maintained, great signage. Has holes that you get a thrill throwing, "I know this may not work but I've just got to try it" rather than, "I don't have a clue what to throw, just poke and pray".

One of my favorite courses to play. Perfect NC golf with a great ranger of shots and hazards.

Awesome! Beautiful lakeside course. My new favorite. I lost two discs (found 1), and simply had a blast playing! A couple holes missing signs is the only thing that needs to improve.

the pictures posted don't do this course justice. I played 1st week of September. This course is really beautiful and fun to play. Really cool tunnel shot, ponds, lake, has it all.

A fantastic course. The layout is great and the walk from the last pin to the tee is one of the best aspects of the course.

Very technical course amongst the best I've played in NC. Above my skill-set for years to come! I don't expect to find better locally.

I learned to play on this course and very few others measure up. Lots of woods and water to keep you sharp. Wish I still lived close.

Nice course with well manicured fairways. Lots of water to contend with in creative ways as well as deliberate lines you have to hit. Its interesting to have a nuclear reactor in your view throughout the course - this is a major strike against the course. High tension power lines are invasive enough and would easily cause a review to not get an A so when there is a HUGE nuclear reactor in view frequently I can not give this course an A. As far as playing it, it was an enjoyable course but the novelty of the power plant only goes so far and then its just intrusive.
