"You guys care if we tee off real quick?" - works 9 out of 10 times. Assuming 1 in 10 cuz I've never had anyone say no. If you're the smaller group, **JUST ASK**. Or skip ahead a couple holes. There is zero need for fighting and arguing.

And like you said, Bill, let's all preemptively let guys play through. Most everyone on here does. Some honestly don't know to do that, so a friendly "Is it cool if we pass you guys?" ..I think is a learning experience sometimes. If they're NOT cool with it, then you got unlucky and stuck behind some jerks. "OK, then we'll just go to 10."= kill em with kindness.

That was the case for most of the holes to my knowledge. I've ran into that alot. When you're walking up to the tee pad and then they're off. You have to literally run up to them. My point is, you shouldn't have to. It's common courtesy.

Everyone should be able to play at the pace they desire if possible.

I've looked at it both ways. I have offered, and I have asked. The point is this, if you want to play through, then make it known and just ask. This course makes it a little difficult at times to allow a play through. While you might be getting in front of the immediate group, you might be jumping a group on the back 12 of the course. or front 12 depending. It just comes down to COMMUNICATE. It s possible that the group there was having a tag match (I know my buddies werre all up there for one, so it is possible) and sometimes when you've got something serious going on, you tend to get a lil oblivious to anything else around you.

I guess I'm just cool like that. People don't have to ask me to play through because I'm concious of who's playing behind and I'll just let them if I feel I'm holding them up. It doesn't matter. Everyone is going to play by their own rules.

They are usually the ones making sure the course is looking nicely and they are taking the time out of ther lives to run said leagues. Just devil's advocate here. People are quick to jump on leaguers for their "elitest" attitude, when many look at the casuals for their "eff everything that isn't mine" attitude.

How about not playing through, but offering to play together? I've done this on many occasions and especially at Brys. My point is, if you are the one who wishes to play through, then make a concious effort to ask, if the offer isn't given. If they don't offer, but you don't ask, then you have no real reason to whine since you didn't do anything to change things.

League players should be setting the example and not exacerbating the problem.

But not once before you joined up with those other 2 people did they come up to us and ask "Hey can we play through? I always let a smaller group a head if its just me, or with others. But there was nothing said until Hole 15, when he was shouting to play through. One of the guys went to the bathroom while 3 others were still trying to play the hole, and then when whoever went in the bathroom came out and then someone else went in really quick. Half of us had finished the hole while the other 2 had not. I even shouted "We're not done shooting the hole". Its also not nice to throw when someone is still on the fairway. Many league players don't feel like they own the course Bill, its just the closest course to most of the east side players. Maybe if you came up one night, you would see that the league players like myself are not mean guys. And Brandon is right about taking care of the park and looking nicely. I was there this week on monday and tuesday picking up bottles, cans, and trash up because, most casuals won't walk the extra distance to throw out the trash. So they decide to leave it for people like myself to pick up after themselves. The only problem I had with that guy you were throwing with is that he threw a disc when my buddy was still on the fairway. We were playing for tags so things were a little serious tonight. All I'm saying is, I'm not trying to take sides I didn't when I was out there tonight. But I will also agree everyone arguing was in the wrong, but drinking also helps create arguments.

It's convenient that in your talk about etiquette you left out the part where the "unknown guy" in your group accused our group of stealing his disc on hole 12 (which he found later), never asked if he could throw through until he yelled down the fairway on 15 while we were putting out, then decided to just chuck a disc down the fairway directly at me while I was walking off (missing by a few feet at the most). Etiquette was out of the window with your group. It's Brys we're talking about here. I will 100% of the time skip up a few holes and replay the one's I missed on the 2nd time around if I'm unhappy with the pace. Never, ever, will I take it upon myself to throw a driver at someones back. That's all I wanted to express here.

i am said unknown guy and i apologized and will apologize again for what you felt was me throwing on you guys. i felt that you were far enough away from the hole for me to drive and i over threw the hole considerably

as for the etiquette shown on the course i have never been so rudely treated by fellow disc golfers unable to acknowledge other human beings around them. i can understand a large group of casuals unaware of the etiquette for disc golf and not allowing a smaller group to pass but i expect better from people who claim to do so much for disc golf

i do agree that i took part in allowing the situation to get out of hand but threatening to harm someone and their belongings is way out of line. their was and i quote"seven to one" and you still felt the need to threaten to beat me up as if we were in high school

It really sucks cause i have really enjoyed partaking in your ace race put on each year as i have been a part of a group of ten plus that have shown up every year i also enjoyed throwing brys park as i do all disc golf courses but i don't know how comfortable i feel returning

furthermore you stop to use the bathroom while there was a group waiting at the pad, a group that had been waiting on every pad behind you for 12 holes, a group that was attempting to be polite and let the bigger group dictate when to play through so as to not disrupt them. this i couldn't believe was possible from even the worst group of "casuals."

Just so were on the same page, I'll change my rule. Don't offer a play through unless the other group asks. Done.

it is proper GOLF etiquette that you do not play the hooe until the hole is clear. not just if you think the others are out of range.

sounds like in the end a lot of miacommunication all around. no one asked early enough and no one offered early enough. how about this...chalk it up to one bad round and move forward. I have had bad experiences at many courses...if I stopped playing at them when I had a bad experience then I would have no place to play

Chris you are welcome to throw a round with me anytime. We're 100% cool in my book. Honestly no one knew you guys were on our tail. We were playing off for tags so that's probably why. To be honest, most times I finally got to the tee pad someone had already thrown so I was playing catch-up as well.

no, it was over the fence, not the wall. a house w a scrappy looking yard, right next to the house w the really nice looking yard and the gazebo type thing. honestly we didn't see it in either yard but it b lined over the fence, so we assumed its in the messy yard.
