Black Hills State University

First 18 hole course in South Dakota, partially funded by the first PDGA college matching grant. Great beginner course on manicured fairways with new Mach 3's in powder dipped school colors. Seasonal creek, tall pine trees and sun-bathing co-eds present challenges. Course expanded to 20 holes with new tee signs and baskets, including five elevated baskets and several mandos through trees and a triple mando through the football goal posts on Hole 18. Great views of Crow Peak Mountain and Lookout Mountain.

Layout is a bit confusing and the signage is poor too.

The layout extremely confusing. At times you have to play across a football field or two. This makes for an interesting game when other teams are practicing. Also I could not figure out where to go next. No clear directions and the overall map at tee #1 is zero help.

The flow needs work but overall, a fun course.

Good place for beginners and just a fun place to be.
