An extremely challenging 18 hole championship destination course that winds through a mature forest. Scenic views and rock walls on the beautiful landscape. An exhausting hike but worth every step. Plays from shorts (10 short pads) and longs. The superb design has great variety. Several tight and technical long wooded fairways with shot selection, shaping and placement required. Good mix of tunnel, dog leg, blind and bomber shots. Some other holes are placed through lightly wooded valleys. Hole 18 is the long daunting signature hole with the water hazard lake in play throughout . The rough is deep and unforgiving on multiple holes. Good signage for the majority of the course, although the newly developed holes (14-18) still need work and cleanup. Navigation is a bit difficult on the new holes. Nice cement pads, but some are too short. New ChainStar Pro baskets. Benches and garbage cans on most holes. Restrooms available. A state park recreation passport is required to enter the park. Parking is provided in the big lot off the main road. A “disc course” sign directs you to the lot and hole 1. A couple practice baskets available. The front gate closes for 4-5 months during late fall to early spring. A 20 minute walk to get to hole 1. Overall, this course will be worthy for the DGPT.

Much of it is in older growth forest with elevation changes and some rock walls reminding me of the east coast courses the pro's play on. Holes 2, 3, 4, and 13 with some others are obscene good. The ranger told me probably by the end of June 2020 the other 5 holes should be in. I can't wait! Warning! This course is not for beginners, most women and children. They will not like it. And the entrance for the course is closed in the winter and you have to use the Alt. entrance and go to the headquarters and do a 15 minute walk in down their service dirt road. I predict this will be an A+ course when all is done. It basically is already.

Will easily be the best layout in the area when finished. Holes 3/13 (13 hole layout) need some work to make them play appropriately to their par, but could easily be accomplished with some more clearing on 3 and maybe a shorter basket placement for 13 (the basket placement is cool but the hole plays realistically as a par 6). New holes are excellent and 1/2 are great starting holes for a layout. Excited for it to be finished. Nice to finally have a place to play that offers a style of golf equal to the pro and national tour layouts. Reminds me a lot of maple hill.
Would also like to see the trees directly off the tee on new hole 4 removed. Looks like they will be. Will be a much better hole when they are.

Updated my grade from a B to A-. Played today, first time with all 18 in. I'll stand by my previous review. High level, long throwers will absolutely love this course. Extremely demanding. Lower level, short throwers simply won't have enough fun to play on a regular basis. Review when it was a 13 hole course. (Played this course from the longs and checked out the short tees. Review when it was a 13 hole course.
(Played this course from the longs and checked out the short tees. From a high level players perspective, which I'm not, this is an excellent course. Really tough shots. Good two shot par fours and a three shot par five. From an intermediate and below players perspective, which I am, it lacks a "fun factor". Literally no deuce opportunities. Even the 300' hole is so uphill it plays at least 380'. AM 1s and higher will love this course, AM 2s and below probably won't visit often. I'll play a few times a year for the challenge, but Seymour and/or Bay Court are more fun).

Great course thus far but still incomplete. For the people whining that the holes are too long, I’m a sub-300 thrower and sub-900 rated player and have birdied 6/13 holes there from the short tees, so maybe those people are actually mad that they can’t hit challenging lines. There are no unfair lines or distances here, just a challenging round. If shooting under par at an easy course is what you prefer, you have numerous alternatives in the area. Don’t hate on the course design for trying to provide something “high end” that will undoubtedly bring the PDGA tour to town once finished.

Shocked at the A votes! Biased? Maybe know the designer? That said, it has great potential. Obviously need perminant tee pads and to clear out some rough and a few trees. By no means is this suppose to be a "harsh" grade. I think the course has great potential! However, work needs to be done and it is currently only 9 holes (I hear more to come). I think C+ is a good grade for current state, but I have no doubt this grade will only go up as more work is done and additional holes are put in. Aga ...

Again, I give it this grade on current course (ie: 9 holes, temp tee boxes, brutally untrimmed rough, etc), but I am so excited to see this course in a year or 2. The course is a fantastic start to a very good course, but if I went out expecting an A-B course I would be disappointed.
