Award winning Buckthorn Round-Up Community Cleanup Project
Part of the installation of the Half-Moon Lagoon DGC is site preparation. The City of Reedsburg, provided land that was overran with the invasive species, Buckthorn. It grew everywhere and was choking out natural vegetation.
After 3 year and 5 installments of the Buckthorn Round-Up we are starting to get a handle on the area. The WI Department of Natural Resources recognized our efforts with the URBAN FORESTRY COUNCIL AWARD for Project Partnership 2017 in March.
We are proud to be apart of the community of discers to continue on a great legacy of conservation.

The Half-Moon Lagoon DGC: Update
Disconsin has currently raised $17,000 of our $20,000 goal towards the installation of the Half-Moon Lagoon as of 4/26/17. Along side our successful fundraising campaign we are about 70% done clearing the course installation site of the invasive species Buckthorn.
We begin installation of the 18-hole disc golf course in May and are always looking for volunteers! We hope to be able to have everything ready to open the course by June 24th, 2017!

That said, if there is a full field of 90 players, we are guaranteeing a $1,000 ace pool. Please note that $5 from every entry will go into the ace pool and $2 will go to the PDGA.
