Hey, want to win a 1000 bucks? Well now that I’ve got your attention I’m proud to announce that Disc Golf Warehouse in conjunction with Disc Golf Down Under will be sponsoring the Armory Ace Attack. This ace competition with $1000 up for grabs will be run right here on Sunday 1st October during the 2023 NSW Open. 10 lucky players will get 3 attempts to score an ace on 2 different baskets.

Now to enter the Ace Attack, first you’ve got to be registered for the NSW Open presented by MVP Disc Sports, which is taking place here over the October long weekend from 30th September to 2nd October. Next, there’s 2 different ways to secure one of the 10 places in the competition.

The first way is what I call “Do You Feel Lucky, Well Do Ya?” We’ll be selling raffle tickets at $1 per entry and you can buy as many entries as you like. And if you buy $10 of tickets at a time, you’ll get one bonus free entry. Now you can purchase tickets online at https://sydneydiscgolf.com/aceattack or with cash when you check in for the NSW Open at tournament central. All proceeds from this raffle will go back into the ace pot for the competition. We’ll hold a random draw of all entries at 8pm on Saturday 30 September to pick 5 of the 10 competitors.

The second way to secure a spot is what I call “Gee I’m Good, Vote for Me!”. All registered competitors for the NSW Open will be added to a voting page which you’ll find on the https://sydneydiscgolf.com/aceattack page. Here’s where you can vote for yourself, your mate or your favourite Aussie disc golfer. Can’t decide, well everybody will get 3 votes so you can vote for all 3. But if you want to win you’ll need to recruit family, friends, fellow competitors and convince or bribe the disc golf community to vote for you. We’ll close the count at 8pm on Saturday 30th September and the 5 players with the most votes will win the other 5 spots in the ace attack.

Then, if you’re one of the 10, all you have to do is be here for the Ace Attack which will kick off shortly after the last group finishes their round on Sunday 1st October. The throwing order will be randomly drawn and you’ll have 2 baskets to choose from. The first person to hit an ace on the main basket will take home $1000 thanks to Disc Golf Down Under and Disc Golf Warehouse, but it won’t be easy at 130 metres. Now, if that sounds too hard, we’ll have a second basket at around 90 metres and the first person to hit an ace on this basket will take home the ace pot guaranteed to have at least $100 but we expect it could be way more.

OK, what happens if nobody scores an ace. Well, we want to make sure somebody takes home some money so to decide a winner, everybody will get a final chance with a nearest to the pin competition on the closest basket. The player with the closest disc on the fourth throw will take home half the ace pot and we’re going to donate the other half of the ace pot to a great Aussie charity, Beyond Blue.
