About this tournament
3 rounds of play
Welcome to Wild Country’s first sanctioned tournament! In keeping with the ethos of this course, there are no course fees added but there is a donation box (near hole 1) on site and e-transfers are also accepted. These funds help to maintain the course, keep the grass cutting equipment in good shape, and will help greatly to relieve the debt from the new tee pad installation.
$5 from player's fees will go toward the weekend washroom rentals and $2 collected will pay PDGA fees. All non-current members must add an additional $10 that will be remitted to PDGA with player fees.
This event is funded by businesses in the Kawartha Lakes area and the course owners. Please share our local sponsors with your photos on social media.
On-site and nearby camping is offered at additional cost. Those staying for one night or the weekend will receive separate emails with the camping guidelines and payment information to secure your site. There is a limited space available on the property and spaces in the town will fill quickly due to the Labour Day holiday. Please plan ahead.
This event will test player’s endurance, wind skills and ability to maintain accuracy on long drives with tree-lined fairways. The random doubles glow round on Friday is optional but will give players a feel for the back 9 holes of the course. All players will compete in 2 rounds on Saturday with a minimum of 1-hour break between the last card finishing and one single round on Sunday. Directly following round 3 on Sunday morning will be the award ceremony. We hope to have players on the road home around lunch time on Sunday. Players camping for the entire weekend are invited to stay the remainder of Sunday and Monday (departing their site by 11am). All camping garbage MUST BE packed out of your site when you leave.
All divisions will throw from the same tee pads but pars will be adjusted for novice and age-protected divisions. Additional out-of-bounds areas and mando signs have been placed for the tournament and will be explained in the caddy book. In the event of a tie, holes 10,17 and 18 will be played in a loop until the tie is broken.
Washrooms will be rented for the weekend and located near TD central. There is also a permanent outhouse near hole 17. Water will be available throughout the course and in water totes for those camping. Only firewood on the property is permitted for burning and is included in the camping fees. Wild Country’s rocky and rugged terrain also demands appropriate footwear. Bug spray and sun protection is also highly recommended. Tents will be erected throughout the course but there is limited shade on the fairways.
Volunteers from our family and Fenelon Falls Secondary School will be placed throughout the course to assist with spotting, locating discs and out-of-bounds assistance. Lunch will be provided for all volunteers. Please reach out to the TD if you have someone traveling with you willing to help out with the event.
Women’s divisions spots will be held until August 10th (21-days prior to the event start date) and then spaces will be filled from the wait list in the order received.
Advanced registration has been provided for the volunteers of the women's events I run each year (up to 33% as per PDGA regulations). Thank you for all your help and support.
If no aces are scored in the weekend, the ace pot will be donated to the Paul McBeth Foundation to support disc golf experiences in underserved locations. Raffle tickets will also be for sale at the event.
Player’s packs will include a course-stamped premium glow plastic disc with player’s choice of a Kastaplast Berg or MVP Crave as well as additional items. There is also a pro shop on site with a selection of discs, golfing accessories and course t-shirts for sale.
We appreciate you entrusting your long weekend to us and for helping to make the first event at Wild Country a success. We can’t wait to share Wild Country with you!
