About this tournament

Come play this first PDGA-sanctioned tournament at The Welk Resort Oaks Course! Everyone has been raving about the basket positions: "So tricky!", "Lots of Risk/Reward!", "Who's the @$#% that put them so close to the OB?". But there has been lots of debate about where to put the permanent concrete tee pads. So here's YOUR chance to have a say in the process.

CHECK-IN SUNDAY BEGINS AT 8AM. PLAYER MEETING 8:45AM. ROUND 1 SHOTGUN START SHORTLY AFTER 9AM.

ROUND 2 WILL BEGIN 1 HOUR AFTER LAST CARD COMPLETES ROUND 1.

Rizbee Disc Sports is partnering with the Salty Disc Golf Club to come up with two sets of tee locations. Salty will set the tee locations for Round 1. Rizbee Disc Sports will set the Round 2 locations. Players in the event will receive a survey form where they can choose (hole-by-hole) which tees they prefer. An online map of both layouts can be found here: https://arcg.is/1j8P0e1

We're trying to keep costs down for this event. As such, this is a "True Amateur" event for Ams and a minimal payout C-tier for Pros. 1st Place trophies will be awarded to each division that is in place by close of registration. Your entry fee includes $30 worth of greens fees paid to The Welk, $2 PDGA fee (to pay for ratings and points), $2 So Cal Disc Golf Club fee (which gets paid back 100% to So Cal members at the end of 2023) and $6 which will pay for trophies and supplies and a disc for all Ams from a previous Team Rizbee tournament. We're collecting a little more from Pros ($5 from women, $10 from men) to go towards payout.

We'll also be collecting a $5 fee from those of you that are not So Cal Disc Golf Club members for 2022 or 2023. If you aren't a So Cal member you really should join - All of the $2 per player fees collected by So Cal events goes back to cash or merch prizes awarded IN THE DIVISION WHERE THEY WERE COLLECTED! The $5 fee collected at this event? We'll use it to buy a round of beverages for everyone at the end of round 2. If you want to join So Cal, here's the link: https://www.discgolfscene.com/tournaments/2023_So_Cal_Disc_Golf_Club_Membership_2022

We will have a 1-hour break between rounds. The clock will start when the final group finishes. We recommend that you bring something for lunch - food choices are limited at or near the Welk. We're going to try to put together a sandwich order from the Meadows Deli Market, but no promises (yet).

Also, seeing as this event will be held in the vicinity of Holiday Seasons celebrated by many folks (Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, Krampusnacht, Las Posadas, Boxing Day, Lussinatta, Winter Solstice, Boxing Day, Festivus, etc.) we thought a gift exchange might be fun! So if you'd like, bring a wrapped disc golf disc to put under the mini basket. We ask that the disc either be new and un-thrown or a collectible disc of some value, so everyone feels they are receiving a fair exchange. We will designate a Holiday Elf/Troll/Humanoid to pass out the wrapped discs to all who participate as part of our post-tournament festivities.

Enjoy!
