About this tournament
What is the WeDGE Summer Slamdemic?
The Summer Slamdemic is a casual double elimination match play tournament that takes place over the course of the summer. The tournament promotes minimal player interaction as they scratch their competitive itch while unable to participate in traditional tournament/league settings. It’s a chance for players of all skill levels to compete for cash money and club wide bragging rights while providing them the freedom to schedule their own matches within a two week time frame. The event also aims to bring us together as a club while we’re still forced to be apart and in smaller numbers.
Check out the pictures section for the full details and below for some guidelines for safety and best practices during play:
1. If you’re not feeling well, or are living amongst people who may have been affected by COVID19, stay home. You will be refunded if necessary. And if you belong to a group that is considered more vulnerable to the virus, please consider additional precautions.
2. Keep your matches to just you and your opponent. The idea here is that even though things are starting to loosen up a bit, we want everyone to play safe and keep numbers low out on the course.
3. Maintain a comfortable distance from each other of about 6 ft.
4. If putts are at an arms length away for a drop in, then pick up your own disc and move on. This tournament is meant to have a fun and casual feel so no need to be a hero.
5. No fist bumps or high fives. "Great shot" or "Nice Putt!" is plenty of encouragement.
6. Have some hand sanitizer with you and a mask at all times. We're not out of the weeds yet, so let's be respectful of our opponents and have a great time!
