Welcome to the 2025 Walton Disc Golf Club!
The new board and myself are very excited to get the next two years kicked off!
I will be starting my second term as president and will be joined by Marshall Tallaksen, JP Cartrette, and Tony Brackett as the club board for 2025-2026. We are beyond excited and have already had great talks on how we can do more for not only the club but for Disc Golf here in Walton County.
This year I would really like to focus on bringing the club together as a group more. We want to focus on having more fun events for all skill levels that encourage people to come out and just enjoy each others company as well as throwing plastic.
One major point of emphasis this year is going to be having quarterly club meetings. The idea will be to have a fun round of disc golf followed by food, fellowship, and a quick meeting where we can discuss as a group how we would like to use club funds or different events the club would like to host for the disc golf community at large.
I really want to see the club become a group minded body that is looking to come together and keep pushing the growth here in Walton County that we have seen over the last two years. And there is possibly the potential for even more growth/courses here within the county (we are in the early stages so nothing is set).
This years membership will include the usual discounted WDGC sanctioned tournament registrations, free sanctioned league rounds, the opportunity to buy into the WDGC bag tags, and the ability to join in on club only round/events.
Every member will also be given a 2025 WDGC patch, which will be a velcro patch made by Marshall, that will look great on any hat or disc golf bag that has the ability to have a velcro patch!
Last year as a club we were able to push Heritage Pines to the next level with new tee signs, new alternate pins, a massive clean up effort/brush mulching. And I cant wait to see what we can do this year.
I love this group and what it represents to our sport and cannot wait to keep growing with each and every one of you and I sincerely cant wait to work alongside everyone to keep moving in this amazing direction we have been headed.
