About this tournament
This is a match play tournament.
Sign up for the division you believe you belong in, but you may get shuffled to a higher or lower division before tournament starts. Our goal is to create a fair and competitive playing field for each division and will be using slightly adjusted rating caps for divisions to achieve this
The official PDGA match play rules can be found here: https://www.pdga.com/rules/official-rules-disc-golf/appendix-a
- Tournament starts with a group stage of 4 person per group.
- You play each player in your group 1 time.
- Groups will be selected at random per division.
- The group stage lasts 8 weeks. 6 weeks to play your 3 matches. And a 2 week buffer.
- Depending on division size, the top 2-3 players in each group will move to the next round.
- Ties amongst the group will be settled based on the combined # of holes it took for each player to win their matches. For example, Player A is 2-1 and played 45 holes. Player B is 2-1 and played 35 holes. Player C is 2-1 and played 40 holes. Players B & C would advance. Player A would be eliminated.
- The rest of the tournament becomes a single elimination bracket.
- There may be a play in round or byes depending on # of people.
- Players will be seeded into the bracket based on the combined # of holes it took for each player to win their group stage matches. The lesser the amount of holes it took, the higher your seed. Any tie breakers will be settled based on rating. Higher rating = higher seed.
- You have 2 weeks to play a single match.
- Rounds are expected to be played after regular 9-5 work hours during the week. So if you work evenings and aren't available weekends, this event might not be for you.
- Both players will be given a loss unless sufficient evidence is given to indicate one player was the issue in scheduling (to the TD's discretion)
- It is the responsibility of you, and the person you are matched up against, to coordinate the match amongst themselves within that 2 week time frame.
- Players can agree to play w/e course and tees they would like.
- If there is no clear winner after completing the round. Start at hole 1 and begin a sudden death playoff.
- All matches must have a clear winner.
