Amazing tournament & course! I hope this comes back yearly going forward.

I agree Armando. Kudos to John, Shawn and Jamie for putting on a great event. I've been to 12 tournaments in the last 9 months, included Masters Worlds, and this was the best trophy presentation/raffle of all of them!!!

Greg Wood    August 3 at 2:27am

Thank you John, nice to play and get a feel of the course. Nice layout nice course.

TY. Glad you had fun

John Scheinpflug    August 3 at 1:29am

We had 65 players today for the practice round. AWESOME!

Chad Villegas   August 3 at 1:56am

That’s so sic. I know I had a great day and the staff was so supportive and friendly. It’s going to be a super exciting 2 rounds tomorrow.

John Scheinpflug    August 2 at 5:01pm

The course is now set up. Thanks for the great work crew. Jack Selleh, Jordan Hicks, Shawn Passmore, Jamie Tellez, David Swangler, Chubby and Jon Noles. There will be a string line on the tee boxes running from red ball marker to red ball marker. Also, on hole 17, the gunite is good. Surrounded by water is O.B. Enjoy the practice round.

A huge THANK YOU to John and all of the volunteers who helped out today! After the event, I'm buying drinks for all of you!! (Chubby gets his favorite non-alcoholic beverage) :-)

Chad Villegas    August 1 at 11:28pm

I didn’t bring my basket like normal. Where will there be practice baskets available ?

Tommy Gunz III   August 1 at 11:33pm

Per TD email: Two baskets (for putting) will be set up on the putting green

Armando Cruz    August 1 at 5:17pm

I didn't see anything about a dress code, that I recall?

Armando Cruz   August 1 at 5:52pm

I was assuming so, the only collard shirts I own are work shirts. So I'll most likely wear one of those.

John Scheinpflug   August 1 at 7:53pm

Thanks Tommy. Yes, remember we are trying to make a good impression and by the numbers in the tournament, we have already done that. This is a golf course (even though only a C-Tier) please dress accordingly.

Harvey Brandt   August 2 at 12:35am

PDGA.com should have information on appropriate dress. At PDGA Master's Worlds it was no cotton tee shirts but performance fabrics (dry-fit, etc) were fine. Collars were not required.

John Scheinpflug    August 1 at 3:41pm

Good Morning to All, I have a final meeting with the golf course today. Afterwards, I will post hole assignments on PDGA. I will send an email late afternoon. Get excited!

Chad Villegas   August 1 at 3:51pm

Great news & yes I’m excited

Greg Chance    July 31 at 1:45am

FYI, I added the course and layout shown in the caddie book to Udisc in case people want to use it. Since this is a private course and event, the course is not shown on the map, but you can find it by searching "Viewpoint Golf Course".

Thanks Greg

Matthew Loos    July 31 at 12:09am

Hello - Any chance the practice round on Friday will be available to non-tournament players? Would love to check the course out but unfortunately couldn't do the tournament

John Scheinpflug   July 31 at 12:38am

Unfortunately, No, the course will not be available for players who are not competing in the tournament. The reason: We only have a three hour window (from 2pm-5pm) with the last card going out at 5pm. If half of the players brought a friend or if others not in the tournament were to play, then the ... more

Matthew Loos   July 31 at 2:50pm

Understood, thank you!

Has anyone tried putting a Zuca cart on the back of a golf cart? Is that a legitimate option, or are backpacks better?

Tom Osterdahl   July 30 at 5:09pm

Use a backpack it works the best.

Harvey Brandt   July 30 at 5:17pm

I put my Zuca on a cart during the Las Vegas Open. Wasn't great. Took up a lot of space and tended to lean backwards where discs could drop out. Like Tom says, backpack.

John Scheinpflug   July 30 at 6:19pm

Since there will be two players on a cart for most carts, I would highly recommend using a backpack so there is room for both players.

John Scheinpflug    July 28 at 6:14am

We have reached our limit on the carts for the caddy for tournament day. This was first come-first serve. Those who have requested one are good. There are no more available.

Chad Villegas   July 30 at 4:56pm

Im on that list correct

John Scheinpflug   July 30 at 6:16pm

Correct.

Chad Villegas   July 30 at 6:51pm

Thank can’t wait to play.

Gor Sargsyan    July 27 at 11:58pm

I'm currently waitlisted for MA3 and I see the registration closes soon. If no spots open up before the event, can I placed be into one of the open spots in MA1? (Definitely would prefer MA3 though)

Everyone that was on the waitlist has been promoted into the tournament - Cheers!

Caddie Book hole 18 - driving range would most certainly be OB but is not actually noted "OB" in red, as was carefully done throughout? Could lead to disputes?

John Scheinpflug   July 27 at 2:29am

I don't know if there is any line over there. I would have to make a string line or use cones.

Jeff Beickel    July 26 at 2:49am

The caddie book refers to the “manicured” part of the green. Is that referring to the fringe?

Thank you Jamie. Looking forward to it!

Tommy Gunz III   July 26 at 3:53pm

Will the greens be strung or painted to show a definitive line? I can already forsee arguments on the card hahaha

John Scheinpflug   July 26 at 7:59pm

The greens are defined enough to know that the disc is either in or out. If it's that close, it's a card decision.

Donald Hawk    July 25 at 9:58pm

Hi, is it possible to add another ma3 spot?

John Scheinpflug   July 26 at 4:26am

The spot has been added. Go ahead and sign up.

Jonathan Bo-o    July 25 at 5:05am

Any chance to open up more mpo spots?

John Scheinpflug   July 25 at 4:30pm

Absolutely! I have no problem opening up spots for those on the waitlist. I will draw from other divisions that have not filled. As long as you understand, right now, you will be on a mixed (division) card. Hopefully, that changes. I do like to keep divisions together as much as possible.

John Scheinpflug    July 25 at 2:48am

THE BEST NEWS...I have talked with Management today and WE WILL have carts for the practice round. The round will still be free, however, there will be a $10 (per person) charge for a cart. I'm quite sure there won't be a problem paying that minimal amount because I don't think anyone wants to walk that course. The hours set aside for our practice round is from 2pm - 7pm.
The carts MUST be returned by 7pm. If you have any holes left to play and it's 7pm, STOP PLAYING and ... more

Shawn Boyd   July 26 at 3:05pm

Sounds like I'm doing a practice round now, thanks for arranging this John.

John Scheinpflug   July 26 at 5:57pm

A lot more players are going to playing a practice round now.
