The 2018 UDGSC Presented by MVP Disc Sports will be held November 3rd and 4th for all Professional and Amateur divisions and on October 27th for all Junior divisions. We will have a special C-Tier (separate registration opens on 10/19 ) hosted by Myself and Patrick Christensen plus a Field Events Competition (register for field events with main registration) on October 28th at ROOTS.
The Tournament will be played on The Portal and ROOTS Disc Golf Courses in Salt Lake City. ROOTS will be played with some added OB lines and will include up to 7 additional holes that will be created on the driving range. The exact layout is subject to change and will be updated as we draw closer to the event.
There is a facilities fee as part of your registration. This covers the rental of the Portal and carts for all rounds played on The Portal. In addition to the weekend we have the driving range from 3pm on Friday for practice.
Professional Divisions will be paid at 100% with a guarantee of $2500 added cash. We will pay 45% of the field.
Amateur Divisions will also have pay out. This payout will be in the form of prizes and also vouchers to Bird Cage who will be on site. The emphasis will be on the players pack and each player will receive a player’s pack with a value well in excess of entry fees. As such, much of the AM value will be distributed through the players pack and the payouts will only be guaranteed to the top 20% of the field. In smaller divisions (4 or less) prizes and or vouchers will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishes regardless of number of entrants.
Trophies will be provided for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishes in each division with 10 or more registrants, 1st and 2nd place finishes in divisions with 4-9 registrants, and first place only in divisions with 3 or less registrants. 3 registrants will be required for any division to be run with the exception of all juniors divisions, any age protected WOMANS division and for REC Women. For all AM divisions prizes and or vouchers will be awarded to 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place finishes regardless of number of entrants.
The Field Events will include an 18 hole mini golf course, long distance competition, putting challenge and a distance + accuracy competition.
Everyone should expect to play 2 rounds on Saturday and at least one round on Sunday
Pro and MA1 Divisions will have two rounds on Sunday. I only have The Portal for One round on Sunday and I intend to put 80 players out on it. How it breaks down for who else plays is wholly dependent upon registration numbers. A final schedule will be posted 1 week prior to the event.
