Upstate Team Championship
About this tournament
Think you and your friends have what it takes to be the best team in the Upstate?
This is a 3 round, 2 day event featuring 3 different formats.
Teams will consist of 4 players whose cumulative rating falls below the rating cap for their division (using ratings from the July 9 ratings update). If a player is not a current PDGA member they may be asked to submit UDisc rounds to approximate rating if previous ratings are outdated.
Gold Division: Cumulative Rating Cap of 3800 (average 950)
Silver Division: Cumulative Rating Cap of 3500 (average 875)
Players on each team will be ranked A, B, C, D based on rating
Day 1
Round 1: Singles, stroke play.
All players will play a singles round (all team's Player A will play on the same card, B with B, etc.), all player's scores will be added up per team for a total number of strokes
All Whites Tees
Round 2: Doubles, best shot
Teams will play best shot doubles, pairings will be players A & D, and players B & C. round scores will be added to previous stroke totals
Gold Division: All Blue Tess
Silver Division: Hybrid Layout
Day 2
Round 3: Modified Alternate Tee Shot Quads
Each player will have to tee off an equal number of times (2 players tee off 4 times, 2 players tee off 5 times). After tee shot is thrown, all 4 players are playing best shot quads until the hole is completed.
Hybrid Layout
We plan to provide lunch on Saturday between Rounds 1 and 2, specifics TBD.
There is talk of a players party Saturday night after round 2 is completed!
$40 per player, $160 per team
Approximately $5 per player ($20 per team) will go towards lunch Saturday.
Remaining entry fee will be used for prize pool, awarded to the top 3 teams in each division (split 50%, 30%, 20% for 1st, 2nd, 3rd respectively).
Team uniforms are not required but highly encouraged!
