About this tournament
— about this project —
Indy Disc Golf Club is helping the town of Rocky Ripple, IN install a 5-target, beginner-friendly disc golf course in their community park (Hohlt Park). The target audience for this course is Rocky Ripple residents & community members, disc golf beginners, and players of all ages. Hohlt Park is located right next to Butler University and the neighborhoods of Butler-Tarkington, Meridian-Kessler, and South Broadripple, and we expect the Hohlt Park disc golf course to:
(a) provide an entry-level recreational experience to a wide swath of new disc golfers
(b) be a lunch break destination for more experienced players that work/live in the area
— playtest —
Come join us on Saturday, November 23rd to playtest the current design idea. 5 baskets will be set up in the park and ~ 6 tee areas will be marked. We need your help to find all the areas that we never thought misthrows could reach. We are also especially interested in garnering feedback from junior players, women, and beginners. If you have ever been curious how disc golf courses come to be, and why holes are designed in certain ways, this is a great chance to participate in the process.
— fundraise —
The $10 entry fee will be used to help purchase disc golf equipment for this course. We expect the total installation cost to be about $3,500. Estimated installation date is early Spring 2025. Expect course installation volunteer days to be advertised on the Indy Disc Golf FB page.
Thanks to everybody that has already helped with this project during the brush removal phase.
