United States Amateur Match Play Championships- Topeka, KS Bracket
About this tournament
The US Amateur Match Play Championships is a match play-based tournament that takes place across North America and culminates in the Championship Bracket in Emporia, KS. This local bracket is your chance to earn your spot at that Championship Bracket!
Who?
Current PDGA member – All amateur disc golfers can play regardless of their rating. Professional disc golfers rated 969 or below as of the March 2022 PDGA rating update can play (based on the current PDGA policy, which allows professionals to play MA1 in amateur events). New members who do not have a current PDGA rating can also compete.
Non-current PDGA members – Disc golfers who have never been rated 970 or above.
Non-PDGA members – Disc golfers who are not current PDGA members and have never been PDGA members.
When?
Local Qualifying Brackets – March 15th – August 30th, 2022
Championship Bracket in Emporia, Kansas – September 22nd-24th, 2022
This 8-person bracket will take place in Topeka, KS. This event will begin after 8 players have registered and I have created a randomized match play bracket. Communications for this event will be handled via email, phone or social media. All information for this event will also be found on the Dawn to Dusk Disc Club Facebook page.
5/8/22 is a tentative start date, if the bracket fills quickly this start date can be moved up. This will be held over a three week period which gives each pair of participants one full week to schedule and complete their required match:
Week 1: 8 players (Crestview West)
Week 2: 4 players (Lake Shawnee DGC)
Week 3: 2 players (Big Shunga)
Before play: I will create a post on the Dawn to Dusk Disc Club Facebook page which will state the week of play, matches, course and all other pertinent information. The players will comment on this post stating what day and what time both players have agreed upon and scheduled for their current match.
During play: Please create a new post on the Dawn to Dusk Disc Club Facebook page which states both players names and what match you are completing. In the comments of the post you will post hole by hole updates, "Hole 1: Push, Hole 2: Alex Bruschi up 1", etc.
As part of the entry fee, each player will receive Dynamic Discs Prime Moonshine Culprit and Latitude 64 Triple Burst Gold Line Ballista Pro in their player pack, as well as an opportunity to be the first to purchase the unreleased Westside Discs Moonshine Hatchet.
The winner of the local bracket will be eligible to compete in the Championship Bracket in Emporia, KS. The winner of the local bracket will also receive a trophy disc and $90 in Dynamic Discs store credit, second place will receive a $45 credit to Dynamic Discs.

Matches will be forfeited if canceled or if a player fails to show up for the match. Players will still receive their player packs if this happens.
