Heading out to the course tomorrow, Thursday, about 1-130. Will be diving for dics. Wouldn't mind 1 or 2 guyus coming to help out. If you are, let me know, and def bring extra towels, maybe some food and drink, or be prepared to go in the water as well. I don't mind doing the work, but a rotation could keep ppl warm and not lose time. Either way, let me know here or text me. # on profile.

@JB - you are so correct. Frost last year was an issue but it wasn't this year. The unexpected format change was strictly a daylight issue. During the 1st round our group was standing on the 10th tee when the 1st Saturday of the month 1:00 pm horn went off. That was 2 1/2 hours for 10 holes. I knew then if the rest of the day played out like the 1st 10 holes the 2nd round would have ended around 8 or 8:30, hence the format change. I know it wasn't cool but we all finished the half 2nd round and Ace Pool throw off in the daylight. This was a good move in my opinion. Now, if the golf carts had lights :-) ... For your 2nd point about the food issue. I think we already have 2 changes planned to fix this issue. I do not ever see this happening again...

I had a great time as always at MCCG events, thanks to everyone who helps make it happen....suggestions, Next year maybe just plan the event for a round and a half instead of disappointing players that could have had a chance to come back if the second round was played out or stick with planning the event for 2 rounds but tee off at usual times, frost permitting, but If the weather doesnt allow it in the morning then make the announcement at the meeting before tee off that we will be playing a shortened event, also make sure theres enough food for everyone especially before the last card comes in, had to buy our lunch at the snack bar when we got in for the break, maybe have someone volunteer to stand at the table to make sure the food is portioned out fairly so theres enough to go around BEFORE people fill their plates with seconds

I lost a disc has been in my bag since 1999. Its a tie tyed CE TL. It was prolly someone who played the back 9 in the 2nd round who found it, didnt turn it in and just kept it. If anyone sees it or has it, you can turn it into the pro shop a Sunnybrook or let me know who has it. Maybe they just forgot to turn it in. Big Big reward!

Thanks for posting and for running a smooth event to your TD, Chris Leo.
The staff of Ryan Bauer, Ken Mango, Mat Stivers, Aaron Nitz, Jeff Bauman, Brent Sickel, Doug Watson, and everyone else who helped make the day run smooth. So many people pitched in to help that it was very inspiring.
I know the maps were pretty good but the course still lacks directional identifiers. We are working on that.
Jason Fox, Mat Stivers, and Bill Sicora all worked real hard at crunch time on flags for the baskets but timing just did not allow for them to be installed in time.
We are also working on tee pad identifiers as well. I saw a couple of things that could use tweaking and I will propose them to Sunnybrook. The owner was watching towards the end of the day and saw some things as well.
Stay tuned for the updates and thank you for all of the positive input so far.

So we raised $474 for the Detroit Capuchin Soup Kitchen. $88 from the entry $81 from the 50/50 CTP, and a huge shout-out to Josh Chef Schulte who attended even though he couldn't play to run the raffle which took in an additional $305.
Our 2012 total so far is (insert drum roll here) - $2995. Awesome!
Congratulations to Ryan Koeppen who won the Turkey for the Open CTP.
Congratulations to Ryan ChimChim Bauer who won the Jimmy Howard disc.
And oh yea, thanks to Ken Mango who pulled the winning ticket, I won the other Turkey!

Ok, so i've been approached by a few guys already about going fishing. I had no intention of going until next spring, maybe April. But it has come to my attention that we will be having upwards of 60 degree days this coming week, and maybe, just maybe, I'm feeling a little crazy. So, here's the deal. If I do decide to go fishing, it'll prolly be around wed or thurs, maybe fi. I will post on here that I am going, as well as on my profile. If you know your disc didn't have a name or number, PM me where it went in and what it is, I'll keep an eye out. If it was tagged, expect to get a call or message from me if I find it.

If there is anyone who would like to help, maybe bring extra towels, a space heater, food, whatever, feel free to message me. The water will still be cold, so I don't know how long I can stand being in the water, or how long I plan on doing this, but keeping me warm between ponds and dips will definitely help

such an awesome time yesterday. defiantly doing it again next year. the only thing that disappointed me or i guess let me down was the misunderstanding for the payouts. we place second among 4 teams. i understand that's not a lot of teams but in my opinion 96$ for first and nothing second is kinda shady. don't get me wrong the team who took first kicked ass and deserved to win. But i just find it a little unfair that everyone paid at least 60$ (we spent 82) and should have the same chances of placing and receiving a payout in hope of getting some of the money back that they put into it. buy no means does this mean that i feel you guys did a bad job ITS quite the opposite you all did a great job and I thank you. altough next year it should be a little more clear to the payouts. I guess I feel a little jaded this morning thats all. sry for bitching. GREAT TOURNEY!!!

Excluding holes A and B from yesterday's tournament, the 18 permanent baskets are either cemented in the ground, hung in trees, or mounted in a tree. I know we still have the need to have better tee pads with markings, we plan on eventually building a retaining wall for the putting area near the bridge on hole 5, and relocating the hanging basket on 16 to the last set of trees instead of the 1st set. I noticed one bottle-neck area yesterday while playing. Before I move forward with the owner on the next steps, any suggestions on what could improve the 18 holes at Sunnybrook?

I thought this course layout with the baskets and placements trump the older tournament layout.

The two temp holes are marked but will not be in today.
Basket 12 is in the daily course position but we be ini tournament position for tomorrow.
When entering off of 17 mile road, stay to the east side of the parking lot and enter the golf course area. You will need to see Al in the clubhouse to pay. Cost is $5 for 18 holes per player to walk. Carts are $15 for 18 holes but can be split between two people. Please remember that the course is new and still in transition. Improvements will still be made as time passes and all input is appreciated...
