Hello Disc Golfers!
Thanks so much for choosing to play the Tupelo Chain Freeze this weekend. It's our first year running this new event and it's crazy to think we filled the event. Thanks so much for signing up and being a part of it! I'm personally happy to be back in town and see all the familiar faces and meet some new ones.
On to the details:
-This event is a shotgun start. We will start at 9:00 a.m. That means you should be on your hole and ready to throw at 9:00 a.m. There will be no player meeting. This email is your player meeting. Player check-in will be from 7:30 a.m. to 8:45 a.m.
The address to Veterans Park is:
VETERANS MEMORIAL PARK
80 North Veterans Memorial Boulavard – Tupelo, MS 38804
Player check-in and player-pack pick-up will be at the JT Neely Building inside Veterans Park.
The JT Neely building is located near the baseball fields. PLEASE CHECK IN BY 8:45 A.M.
Round 1 will be at Music Bend DGC. We are playing the short pads!!!!
Round 2 will be at Veteran's DGC. We are playing the LONG PADS to the A positions. All the pads we are playing at Veteran's DGC should have white flags in front of them and the baskets we are not playing should have trash bags on them!!!
There will be no physical scoreboard for this event. Everything will be shown on the PDGA event page. Hole assignments and start times for the rounds will be posted there. You can find the PDGA event page at: https://www.pdga.com/tour/event/65592
SCORING:
We will be using PDGA live scoring as the primary scorekeeping.
-The website for the PDGA live scoring is www.pdga.com/scores or you can access it through the PDGA app. The password for the event is: tupelo
EVERY CARD MUST KEEP A DIGITAL SCORECARD!!!
Backup cards can be paper cards (you can pick them up at check-in), UDisc or another PDGA live scoring.
You will have an hour and 15 minutes for lunch after the last card is turned in. We will post the second-round tee time on the PDGA event page as well as the Tupelo Facebook event page.
PAYOUT
Pros: Pros will be paid out via Paypal on Monday. If your Paypal address is different than the address you used to sign up for the event, please let me know before you leave Saturday.
Ams: Ams will be paid out via merchandise at JT Neely Building. You will be able to check out your store credit as soon as we get it figured out via this Google Doc: Tupelo Chain Freeze Payout
PLAYER PACKS:
Player packs can be picked up at the JT Neely building at check-in
OB:
There will be no OB sheets for this event.
The OB for Veterans is very simple:
Don't throw it in the lake. Don't throw in the road. Everything else is safe (including the sidewalks)
The OB for Music Bend is also very simple:
Don't throw in the ditch marked by the white flags on hole 1. Don't throw in or across the road on hole 1. Don't throw in or across the creek on hole 8.
If you have any questions about the OB, please check the pdga scoring app and it will list OB on every hole.
DOUBLES:
Don't forget we have Bring Your Own Partner Doubles going on Sunday. We will be doing registration from 8:30 a.m. until 9:30 a.m. at the JT Neely building. We will play 1 round of doubles on Thunderchief. Payout to follow immediately after the round.
