About this tournament
WELCOME to Throwing Down the Gauntlet at Brazos Park East, an Armory Disc Golf Gold Tier Event Sponsored by MVP Disc Sports!
This functions as a stand alone tournament (payouts as normal, etc) PLUS earns points towards the Throwing Down the Gauntlet season tour, a year-long points series of tournaments held across Texas that culminates in our Invitational Championship in November (see below for more info)
Throwing Down the Gauntlet 2024
Winners for each division will receive an AUTOMATIC bid to the End of Season Championship, where they will compete for $1000s in added cash + prizes!
There will be a 2x point multiplier for this event for Throwing Down the Gauntlet Season Points Standings

-This will be a 2 round event, with both rounds being held at Brazos Park East in Waco, Texas.
Tournament Day
- Round 1 will start @ 8am with a players meeting at 7:30 am
- Players Pack for all Amateur divisions will be provided. CUSTOM WORK from MVP Disc Sports and Armory Disc Golf
- Hole assignments will be listed on the Armory Disc Golf Facebook page and at tournament central near the practice basket
- There will be a 1-1.5 hour lunch break after last card is turned in, and round 2 will start promptly after. Check our Facebook page or PDGA event page for the exact start time of the second round
- 8 CTP prizes up for grabs for free (4 each round)!
- Mega CTP and Ring of Fire after the second round for free prizes!
Pool/Layout
*Normal course layout not pro tour
- A Pool: All Pro division, MA1, MA2, and MA40
All Longs both rounds
- B Pool will be all other divisions
Short pads on Holes 5, 8, 15, 16, 18 both rounds
OB
Hole 1: Road/sidewalk right, long and beyond. MANDO: Left of marked tree. If MANDO is missed, proceed to DZ +1.
Hole 2: Sidewalk left, road right and beyond
Hole 3: Road left, fence right, sidewalk long and beyond.
Hole 4: Road/parking lot left, fence/sidewalk right, long and beyond.
Hole 5: Water, sidewalk/boat launch left, flagged line along tree line right and beyond.
Hole 6: Water, sidewalk left, flagged line right/long and beyond. You may choose to forgo a tee shot and proceed directly to the DZ with a 2 stroke penalty. If your drive lands OB, you may choose to play from the DZ with a 1 stroke penalty or play from the last place it was in bounds. DZ is across the pond
Hole 7: Sidewalk left, flagged line right and beyond. If your tee shot never crosses in bounds, proceed to drop zone. Otherwise play from last in bounds position
Hole 8: Sidewalk left, right, long and beyond. Mando right of marked tree, if missed proceed to DZ +1
Hole 9: Gazebo (right of basket), sidewalk right/long and beyond.
Hole 10: Brazos River, sidewalk left and beyond.
Hole 11: Sidewalk right and beyond.
Hole 12: NA
Hole 13: Road left and beyond. MANDO: Right of marked tree. If MANDO is missed, proceed to DZ +1.

Refund policy
THERE WILL BE A NON-REFUNDABLE $5 FEE FOR ALL REGISTRATIONS
Cancellations will be refunded minus the $5 cancellation fee up until 5 days before the tournament begins. Refunds within 5 days of tournament date will ONLY be granted if that spot is filled before the tournament begins, either by a waitlist player or new entry. Entry fees for dropouts that are not filled within the final 5 days will be added to the tournament payout pool. Ams who drop out during this window and are not refunded will still be eligible to receive their player packs from The Armory Disc Golf Shop within 30 days after the tournament.
