Hey Wiregrass Fam!!
If you didn't know, our very own Caden and Cole Wright will be competing against the best young disc golfers in the world this July in Emporia, KS at the 2021 Junior Disc Golf World Championships! This is a huge occasion for both of them, and will be an event they will never forget. Both of the boys were hand picked by Prodigy staff based on their skills and character both on and off the course. They are some of the most humble and amazing kids you will ever meet, and push themselves every day to be better. BUT, they belonged to the Wiregrass first! Let's show these boys some Wiregrass love and send them with the full support of the Wiregrass Disc Golf Club behind them when they go to represent in Emporia! All proceeds from this event will be going towards their trip to cover fuel, lodging, meals, and entry fees. Our goal is $2000, LETS GO!!!
This will be a bring your own partner doubles tournament for 3 rounds on the new 12 hole layout at Taylor DGC with 1 bonus hole. Due to the on-going pandemic, and speed of play, there will only be 2 teams per hole for a shotgun start. Tournament is limited to no more than 56 players.
ENTRY FEE
Both players may register and pay separately by inputting the same team name, or one person can click "+ Add another registrant" at the bottom of the registration page and pay for both players at once.
- Sign up is $40 per player ($80 per team).
- Player pack valued at $30.
- Every player is automatically entered into CTPs, 1 CTP per hole during the 2nd round.
- 1st place trophies for each division.
TEAMS
To decide what division to sign up for, add your and your partner's player ratings together and divide by 2.
RECREATIONAL - Less than 900 average player rating.
ADVANCED - Less than 965 average player rating.
FORMAT
Advanced - Long Tees 3 rounds
Recreational - Short Tees 3 rounds
Round 1 - Alternate Shot - Choose who is player A and Player B on your team. Player A plays from all ODD numbered tees, Player B plays all EVEN numbered tees. Bonus hole 13 is team choice for tee shot.
Round 2 - Tough Shot - Play from your teams worst lie until one player lands in the basket to complete the hole. (Only 1 player needs to hole out to finish the hole.)
Round 3 - BEST SHOT!! - Play from your teams best lie, ACE RUN TIME.
ADDITIONAL OPTIONS
Raffle Prizes!
- I have reached out to some Touring Pros for signed discs, and snagged some collector discs over the past several months to raffle off.
- Raffle tickets available during registration, and day of the event.
Speed Gun Challenge
Compete to see who has the fastest arm in the Wiregrass.
- $5 for 2 throws for your best speed.
- $2 per practice throw if want to warm up or just see where you're at without competing.
Guess Your Distance Challenge
How well do you think you know your power control?!
- $5 per throw with any disc in your bag. The disc must go at least 175ft to count. Accurately guess the distance you threw within 6ft and win a disc of your choice!
- Play until you win, limit 1 prize per person.
Rachael will be on site selling a variety of Discmania discs as well for at or below MSRP. $5 from every disc sold will go towards the fundraiser to support Caden and Cole.
