2016 Ragnar Memorial
Come join us at Bluemont Park Saturday May 14th for a tournament to honor the man, the myth, the legend - Ragnar Overby. In keeping with his wishes, the event will be free for all.
Check-in will begin at 9:00 a.m. and close at 9:40 a.m. Pros will tee off at 10 a.m. and Advanced/Intermediate/Rec will tee off at 12 p.m. - Earlier if all pro divisions finish fast. We want to leave plenty of buffer for delay of play with casual players on the course and a card on every hole.
We will be keeping it short, as the whole point is to let a lot of people come out. Each card will play 9 holes.
Pros will be playing full long layout, with the mound in play for both holes 1 and 3.
Advance will be playing white teepads to long baskets, with the mound in play for both holes 1 and 3.
Intermediate and Rec will be playing red teepads to short baskets, with the mound in play for hole 1 - NOT 3.
ALL divisions will be playing from Rag's tee on hole 6. Casual footing will be observed (behind or to either side of the teepad) so as not to disturb the memorial.
The field will be limited to 36 pro, 20 advanced, and 20 intermediate/rec.
Colin is working on some prizes for each division. These will be announced on the day of the tournament.
As mentioned, the event will be free. At the request of Rag's family, however, voluntary donations will be accepted for the club, to be applied specifically toward promoting the sport for new/recreational players.
Come join us and help send the big man off in style. Throw your second shot first.
