The R'Ice Bowl V
About this tournament
Welcome to the The R'Ice Bowl V
Brought to you by Evolution DG, in partnership with Rice Properties Group at Keller Williams Capital Properties. Together with our community we have been able give our support to the Capital Area Food Bank..
This is a 2 round Bring Your Own Partner doubles event, played on 2 temporary courses at Prince William Golf Course in Nokesville, VA.
For Those who don't know: An Ice Bowl® is a disc golf event held in January or February with a mission to increase local awareness of disc golf by raising charitable funds to combat hunger and other related activities. Ice Bowls emphasize fun over competition, while creating a positive image for disc golf and disc golfers by publicizing the charitable fundraising. The great news from Ice Bowl® 2021 is that 165 Ice Bowl events raised over $427K setting the record for charitable donations. This surpasses the previous record set in 2020 by over $27K. Fifty of these Ice Bowls had records donations in 2021. Ice Bowl’s grand total for donations has been boosted to nearly $5.4 million since 1996 when charity was first introduced as a component for Ice Bowls. Additionally there has been over 930,000 pounds of food collected.
Here are the three historical Ice Bowl® Rules that convey Ice Bowl’s spirit:
1. Under no circumstances, may an Ice Bowl® be cancelled or postponed because of weather conditions.
2. No wimps or whiners are allowed.
3. There are no excuses for not attending. Either be there or be called out as a wimp!
While Rules 2 and 3 are “inviolable,” recent winters have taught us that sometimes cancellations are warranted. Defying the conditions is a big part of the fun, but Mother Nature may force Rule 1 to be broken; public safety is of the utmost importance and should guide your decision to hold your event if conditions are too severe or dangerous.
